Good Vid Card at Jaw Dropping Price
whoops, missed the Canada part, my bad. Guess you did get a good deal. I dunno, my 5200 really gave my comp a big boost, i use to have to turn BF42 down really low to get passable framrates now i can have it at max detail without so much as a hickup, even online with 50 ppl and a merely ok PC. Of course, not even a Gefx could compensate for the crappy, inefficient graphical code in Star Wars Galaxies...

Good Vid Card at Jaw Dropping Price
OK, since statecop asked i thought i would share the wealth: This GeFx is only 55 bucks, and it is fully DX9 compat, has 128mbs of RAM and a crapload of other stuff. Buy it, NOW! http://www.buyxtremegear.com/xg5200128.html

Hullo all
i got my Gefx 5200 128mb for only 60 bucks, it was even a brand name from a reputable dealer. I would keep the card and upgrade the mobo and cpu. Buy an athlon xp board that supports DDR RAM and regular SDRAM so you can use your old RAM in your new computer, buy the proc and cooling system, and get a new powersupply and maybe a case. Estimated cost: 2-300 dollars TOPS. Heck, you play your cards right you could even spend less than 200.

Vacationing with Okibi
I dunno, i here Dubya can hold some wild parties, and the partiers often end up at nearby hotels on Penn ave. drunk as monkies.

Vacationing with Okibi
I use to live in N. virginia about 20 minutes away from DC. I hated and feared the infamous capital beltway and its drivers. However, i have to say that the English are some of the worst drivers i have ever seen (except for American teenagers with their rice rockets and SUVs). SOrry all you UK TA members but when I was over there, I was pretty sure I was going to die in a auotmobile accident about 20 times a day.

Leaving for Good :-(
Sad to see you go scorpio, hope you resolve whatever issues have arisen.FA will not be dead forever. The team will make something for HL2 and even if it isnt FA it will probably still have that unique FA team feel. Also, remember that HL2's engine was scaled so that it will still work fine (with much less detail) on machines as slow as 5-600 mhz

granted yes, but how long can that plane really operate in combat conditions with a 500 mile range plus any afterburner usage
-
A-10 Upgrade
LOL, i read that the mirage 2000 only has a range of 500 miles and that it is perfectly suited to turning tail and running with its huge single engine and wing design.

Great Article
i read some other stuff at somethingawful.com and almost died laughing. I was up to 2:00 am laughing and laughing, just be warned a lot of the stuff is very very callous and tasteless humor, especially the 9/11 "jokes". Read some of the guides and look at the photoshop phriday section, you will bust a gut.*WARNING* NOt suitable for kids, some content may scar them for life, especially continual references to sodomy.

mmmmmhhh.... tank cheese.LOL that pic was hilarious. My father told me he had a friend who once strapped a claymore to his head (with front towards enemy outward), grasped the clacker, and had someone take a pic as a he jumped out of the airplane with this stuff. He titled it "The Next Step in Precision Delivery systems" when i got a mentalimage of this i couldnt stop laughing. Wish i could find the photo.

Some good Shiznit, and some bad....
Well here we go:1) Im back in the US, thank god2) My computer has been crashing hard (loss of OS) since May, most of the time just losing my OS but not any of my other data, well, the day i left to the UK the computer crashed even harder and all 3 of my non RAID HDD's were wiped completely. I lost HL (no more FA for a while, as i have since lost my HL CD), 20 gigs of pirated software (I guess I deserved it), and a lot of saved games. Im thinking the problem was based on a 40 gig HDD i had in use that had been abused pretty hard after a science project, but now that all drives have been affected (including a new 80 gig) I dunno. We will see how things go without the 40 gig3) got a new Gfx 5200 with 128 megs of RAM for 60 bucks, its the gfx equivalent of a gf4 mmx 440. It got a 90% from PC gamer (whose HW reviews I value more than their game reviews) and if its anything like my current 440 i should be very happy. The only problem is that it doesnt have a fan on it, but merely some cheap black sinks, so it looks like there will be minimal OCing :lol:4) Star Wars galaxies: its cool, but it lacks a lot of character in its execution, almost feels like it could be played completely with text and stats. At least the graphics are sweet though.

Where on Earth is TA-Flak Magnet?
hi guys, time for my second post from Wales. Went and say conwy castle today, it was da shizzle, i have pics. After that went out to snowdonia park to help destroy the rhododendrons (sorry bout spelling) that are wreaking havoc in the country side. It was quite fulfilling work and i was actually sorry to leave after only a little more than an hour Anyway, i have to say that the Welsh country side is the most beautiful i have seen so far, it was literally mesmorizing. Sadly, we have met few local "birds" of our actual age group so for right now i am enjoying the natural scenery more than the people who populate it. Dont get me wrong, the people here are the nicest ever, just no good looking babes of my age so far :(Ill check in again tommorrow guys, cya!

Where on Earth is TA-Flak Magnet?
Hi all, Im just signing in from the beautiful campus of the university of Wales, Bangor, in beautiful Wales, in the beautiful UK. I have 2 weeks left in my trip and i must say that so far it has been a blast. Scotland has to be the most beautiful country/part of UK (this whole UK thing is confusing) I have ever seen. I didnt get to see the highlands or the moors but the general countryside and the area around glasgow and Edinburgh is spectacular. Edinburgh and London are the 2 coolest cities in the world, the history, the scenery, and the people are simply breathtaking. I havent seen much of Wales and I havent been to Ireland yet, but I have a feeling they will be just as cool. Did I mention the people are cool and nice? The only thing so far i havent liked is the whole road system, not that it actually effects me (we are on a coach). Its not so much the left side of the road thing, as it is the perilousness of the drivers and the convoluted sign/traffic light system. In one part of London I saw 18 traffic lights, many that were double redundant in one single intersection area. Weird, but hey, whatever works. Anyway, Im looking forward to the rest of the trip and than returning and posting my many pictures as well as playing in matches. ah well, gotta go, I will be on tommorrow and the next day in the evenings but after tha I am off to Ireland and I dont know what opportunities for net access will exist. Tommorrow I am off to go abseiling off a castle and cut and burn some apparently ecologicaly harmful rhododendrons as part of the ambassadorial aspect of this trip.Cheers!
