  1. By the lack of hits on this post, I am sure glad we did not invest any more time than we did. :?
  2. This is part of a sound tract that [TA]-Kingpin put together for a Intro Flash project we were working on at one time. I stubled onto it again, so I thought I would share it wil all of you. He used several sound sources and blended them in with actual gave sounds...here it is http://www.fa-thearmory.net/downloads/sounds/Armory-Try2.mp3 P.S. Be sure to turn your speakers up to get the full affect
  3. Gator replied to EniGma's topic in Main Hall
Welcome EniGma to The Armory Clan. We actually had a welcome message for all new members, but it got toasted when we had to restore a 4 day old backup.
  4. We are not running CD on the server at this time, so make sure CD is not running on your PC
  5. Simply put...we are not using CD at this time, so do not run it.
  6. Done. Be sure you log in now with the tag...welcome aboard
  7. All fixed... The information is stored in the database, and it had to be reset back to 4 Dec, so you were added after and it disappeared
  8. We had some major problems with the database that drives the website today. It got to the point where it was showing a blank page, so I had to shut some things down. Our server provider was kind enough to restore a backup from 4 December, so at least we are back online. Please re-post any message that may have been deleted. I apologize for any inconveinance this may have caused you. I was trying to fix a security issue, and ended up screwing everything up. :? 8) GatorP.S. Some more good news is that they have moved a large account off of our web server, so you will have some noticable speed increase on page load.
  9. I agree as well. The 32-player was setup for a stress test...which it passed with flying colors. We observed the server and 32-players did not even budge the CPU, memory, or network connection. The next phase of testing will be setting up 2- 30-player servers or or 3 28/26-players server running different mods. Remember that this is a Windows server and the mortars are allowed because it has the Windows mortar patch dll running. More to follow as we go.

Thanks AK1200, I will work on this soon. This is the second time this has happened. Do appreciate your notification

  14. Gator replied to PUNISHER's topic in Main Hall
PUNNISHER, fllow my STEAM tutorial on the left. Read it carefully
  15. I found this topic in the STEAM forums, so give it a try. It may be very useful to many :PWould you Like to Save More Memory When Steam is Running? Hey guys! a buddy enlightened me to something here. Okay, I began to wonder why steam was burning like 20000-25000k in my process tree. Well we found out that if you have any steam windows open and you close them the cpu keeps burning the same amount. But wait! If instead of just closing the window, YOU MUST MINIMIZE FIRST!!!! I swear I was shocked at the amount of memory I was saving. Try it yourselves, Ctrl-Alt-Del and go to your process tab. Now look what happens when you close the window right away versus minimizing it to the taskbar, then right clicking and closing. It must be poor management of the skins or whatever. But just remember this lil hint "MINIMIZE FIRST, then close, this way you free up all available memory."
  16. If you are unable to download files from the forums (you get a blank white page), please follow these instructions:I finally figured out why Oprea would work, but IE6 would not. If using IE6, do the following: - Go to.... Tools > Internet Options > Advanced (tab) - Scroll down until you find "Use HTTP 1.1" selection (radio button) and uncheck it - Exit out of IE6, and then open it back up. Your download links will then function properly. NOTE: By default, the "Use HTTP 1.1" selection is checked, so you basically need to uncheck it. Whoever designed this module, I hope they make it compatable with HTTP 1.1 soon I hope this helps others
  17. I made a convenient link on the website (look left) called "Firearms 2.8a Development" click there to see how things are progressing along with 2.8a
  18. I agree, but they should also get rid of the FAMAS as well. The FAMAS is the "AUG" of current times. P.S. For your information, I used the Sterling during the ps_invasion map last night, and not the M-79. I use the M-79 on some maps, and some maps I do not. As far as leaving the spawn goes, I did, but my teammates did not. Needless to say, I did not get very far Webster's Dictionary definition of "SPAM": SPAM: A term used by certain players who get killed by an explosion in Firearms and don't like it. These players are normally found using the FAMAS, and normally found over using the left and right strafe command to avoid getting shot.
  19. The IFCLL22.dll needs to reside outside your firearms folder (in your half-life folder). Check and make sure it is there. Use my STEAM tutorial link on the left side of the website if you are still having problems.

  23. Gator replied to Subversion187's topic in Main Hall
Well, let me educate some of you. STEAM is only used to authenticate player connections. Once authenticated, STEAM is out of the picture, and the the game is 100% controlled by the server... In this case, the TA TAC server. I'm sorry you guys had some bad connections, but we offered a very good server for the game. Our Euro clan members have great gameplay on the TAC server, so I don't know why you guys didn't. I really don't see a need to replay the game. Both teams showed up, the games were played, and one team came out ahead. If you felt the server was not playable, you should have asked early on for a rematch, and not after both games were played out.The official game is over, and is now part of CAL history. If you would like to challenge us to a rematch for fun, we would be very happy to play you again.
  24. Gator replied to Subversion187's topic in Main Hall
I don't understand what all the fuss is about. The server is rented from www.recongamer.com which is the largest gaming server rental company in the world. The TAC server is among the top 5 best pinging servers in FA. Our provider's bandwidth upstream connectivity is to Verio, and has a direct Gigabit Ethernet (2,000mbps) connection directly to Verio. If you had connections problems, I would suggest you speak with your provider. The match is completed, so lets move on.
  25. B.I.N.G.O. Create a folder on your C:\ Drive and name it HLSW. Then download and install HLSW on in that folder.
