I'm very dissapointed!!
I haven't really noticed any problems with the Sterling. I had a pretty good round using it on that new map with the Armory, Radio Room, and Trainstation the otherday. I was getting kills left and right with it. How is it nerfed?

Well guys and gals!
StateCop actually said what I was gonna say...... give it time. With every new version with big changes, there are gonna be lots of peaple who don't like it. It's perfectly normal to watch peaple moan about how much the new version sucks, ect ect ect. Shoot, those of you who play Natural Selection known about the moaning that went on when they jumped from v1.04 to 2.0! And now they're moaning about 2.01! Just the way it is. I expected this when 2.8 was released.I'm a rather mediocre player to begin with... and suddenly I'm getting pwded repeatedly while I'm trying to learn the new system. Seems I'm getting pwned by peaple I don't know, leading me to think that many peaple who hated 2.7 are coming back for 2.8. I'm sitting on losing teams with the ren gap being 100 rens or more. My complaint is uneven teams, but not the new version itself. Sure, I'm gonna miss my Stielhands that got me most my kills... but I'll adapt and get my game back..Pity you went out like this WhiteLion. I think you would of been great if you stuck it out and relearned the game. Maybe you'll change your mind and come back refreshed. Sometimes that's all you need is a break. One suggestion tho.... use caps and punctuation... your post is incoherent and hard to read.

Steam Power Hate it or Like it?
Took me less than 10 minutes to get it working after I got the download. FA didn't work at first, but reinstalling the 2.8 update fixed the problem. Game run smoother than I thought possible. Interface was very intuitive and easy to learn. Autoupdates are a godsend because I always hated Sierra's old autoupdater (half the mirror sites didn't work).I got probs with a couple of my other mods, but I believe it will be fixed when the updates are installed. My only real complaint is that my keybinds didn't transfer and I had to spend a couple rounds rebinding keys as I discovered those that I missed.I'll admit, I was very leery about Steam... and a bit ticked off that we're being force fed this. But after using it, I'm sold. Pity it's probably a prequal to Valve starting to charge us to play online. But anyway, I feel for the peaple who can't get it working and I understand why they don't like it. Unfortunatly, it's the nature of gaming.... upgrade or fall behind into the dust. And alot of times, we don't like upgrades. Heh, how many peaple complain when their's a new windows or a new game patch? Same issue here. I think that once the bugs are completely ironed out of Steam, it'll become more accepted.

I can't play with 2.8
As it is, The Armory is now powered by Steam, and since I don't like the idea of finding a new server, I might as well get into Steam. I figure any idiotic things I have to do to get onto the TA server without Steam will probably be the same amount of junk I got to do to get Steam working, might as well get on Steam.I'm just as bad about windows. I got a nice Athlon 2200+ and other nice hardware, but I run on a Win98 OS I HATE XP

I can't play with 2.8
Looks like I'll finally have to break down and get Steam installed. Big friggin' download tho. I'll do it overnight. Then after that, I guess I'll be joining you all's steam woes. In the meantime, I'll probably play off that small WoN patch they included.

Bad news and Good News!
I don't know you, but nice to meet you regardless. I'm glad to hear you weren't seriously hurt.I hope to see ya in game soon... hopefully you won't own me too bad

This is the pits!
Rumour has it they set it back because Steam isn't working like they hoped and they want to concentrate on getting all the wrinkles ironed out of it.Wouldn't know, I haven't bothered dl'ing Steam yet.

How I got by without internet for 2 weeks... light reading
Was mostly alot of games I haven't dusted off in awhile. Spent ALOT of time playing Day of Defeat. Really missed Firearms tho. Was nice to come back and start off with a knife kill on Akuma My assistant manager, loaned me a little light reading as well. I decided to post an excerpt you all might find interesting. ***** The Soviet Union adopted a new self-loading sniper rifle in 1963, designed by sporting rifle specialist, Yevgeniy Fyedorovich Dragunov. Called the Samozaridnyia Vintovka Dragunova (SVD), this 10-shot weapon chambered for the full power 7.62 X 54R cartridge is an evolution of the Kalashnikov operating mechanism. Unlike the AK and PK weapons, the Dragunov does not use a long stroke piston system. That type of gas system tends to be rather heavy for a large caliber rifle, and the motion of that mass diring the firing cycle changes the rifle's center of gravity which in turn reduces the accuracy of the rifle. In the Dragunov, the designer employed a short stroke piston system. The piston, which is separate from the bolt carrier, delivers its impulse to the carrier, which then moves to the rear. The remainder of the operating sequence is quite similar to the Kalashnikov assault rifle. A commercial Soviet rifle, the Medved ("Bear"), embodies the basic operating mechanism of the SVD. ***

No Internet for awhile
I'm in the middle of a move at the moment, having just bought a house. DSL won't be plugged in till about 8-10 days after wednesday, so I'm gonna be offline for a bit. Pity, I was really starting to climb fast on those stats, I went from 80 something to 28 in one night ;)Anyway, if anybody cares, I'm not gone for good, just for a little while. I'll probably be catching up on some of my single player games or playing with DoD bots. Maybe I can find a good FA bot to keep my Sterling skills up in the meantime.Until next time, stay cool, and try to stay out of Akuma's way when he's holding that m3!

Moonshine anyone?
Looks like some of da' stuff ma' pah in law keeps around.I honestly can't see how anybody can drink the stuff. Peach or Apple Brandy is what most of the home brew is around here. While it sounds good, the stuff tastes literally like rocket fuel to me. I'll stick to a good Canadian brew, thank you very much... if I ever go back to drinking again. As much alcohol is in these home brews, I highly doubt anything living (such as bacteria from dead animals) will live long enough to infect ya as alchahol is a disinfectant of sorts. I still wouldn't drink it... unless your into gasping for breath after just a sip. However, the stuff works great as homemade cough syrup. Little corn whiskey, crushed peppermint candy, some honey, and some lemon juice; and you got a brew that is guaranteed to knock out any cough you got. Will probably knock YOU out as well.

Figured I'd stop in.
You are probably right, I had a couple rounds where I just couldn't hit the broadside of a barn and lived up to my name of DEADRoach.I'm never in between, I'm either in the zone and killing everything in site or I fight worse than a n00b. I guess I was a n00b that round.

Figured I'd stop in.
I've been hanging out every once in awhile on your FA server for the past few weeks. I've decided finally, after hopping between Tracy's Trailer Park and a couple other FA servers, that I liked yours the best. Since The Armory is now my "home" FA server, I figured it couldn't hurt to register and say "hey there!"I wish to thank you for putting the server up, and working to keep it a fairly clean gaming environment. I know my language on it has been rough from time to time, and I have been warned on a couple occasions. It doesn't bother me, I actually need peaple to do that as I'm starting to hear my 3 year old repeat some of the things I say. :? So keep warning me, kick me every once in awhile if you have to. LOLAnyway, I'll be around once in awhile. Hope I put up a good fight for you guys.
