I understand how you can confuse respect for our military with the politics of the war. You can respect the soldiers but not agree with a war. I think Vietnam was a gigantic mistake and I would of been against it, but I respect the men who went over there and went thru it.Disrespect the leaders all you want, but please respect the soldier. However, considering that feelings in this thread are starting to get heated, I will go ahead and lock the thread and allow the discussion to close. But I want you guys to know I do understand where you're coming from. I just don't agree.

  3. I would like to see the accuracy modifiers for standing, sitting, prone, and bipod deployment. I plan to try and learn the M60 my next go out. (Dad's gun of choice in Vietnam, kinda sentimental reasons I guess)

......My family has shed blood for this nation. My father in his courage VOLUNTEERED and faced death in the jungles in Vietnam and came out with TWO purple hearts. Half the males in my family are military men. We sacrifice so that others can live in freedom. Every memorial day my father and I visited the local veterans cemetary and took part in the ceremonies there. The Canadians would send an honor guard to thank our dead for what they did fighting alongside them in WW2 (And the US would send a contigent to a Canadian city on their memorial day and do the same thing). I grew up with a deep rooted respect for those in uniform. This was not a political statement. This was a hearty "Thank you" to the men and women brave enough to lay their lives on the line.I will not get into the political debate, as our resident anti-americans have decided to make it. When my country and it's military are put down in the face of the good it has done in this world, I take it much more personally than I should. I watched what being hated by his own countrymen did to my father.... I will not tolerate that kind of crap from anybody. You are entitled to your opinions, but take them to PM's and let us thank our servicemen. If you chose to thank the servicemen of your country, I will respectfully dip my own flag in honor of their sacrifice, not turn it into all the reason I think you and your country suck ass. Kindly do me the same favor.Respectfully...
  7. 62%, definitive Dixie. Alot of my answers favored the great lakes area where I grew up tho.
  8. You sure Kingping? I've noticed the map takes A REALLY LONG TIME TO LOAD. I usually get up and do something else for a few minutes while it's loading You sure it just isn't taking a long time to load?
  9. Canada makes good whiskey. I like whiskey. *hiccup*
  10. Excellent choice
  11. If you can't find his server, I highly recomend the Helo Training map Shotty put the link up for. It has helped my flying immensly.
  12. You saying they're throwing their code out there for peaple to start making mods and hacks?Yes, I said hacks. I think there's something to what Vasily said about Valve being lazy about stopping hackers because hackers getting caught in banned means those hackers will have to buy another CD key.

  14. I grew up in Wisconsin, fairly close to the border. Lacrosse was taught in gym classes up there. I remember having fun with it.
  15. If I can ever arse myself to do it, I'm gonna take up Guitar again.I used to play a mean sax, and I know basic piano.
  16. I love jamming to Alien Ant Farm, aren't they Canadian?? Yah Foo Fighters are good too.How can you say Nickelback sucks? I should shoot you for dissing one of my favorite bands.
  17. Hey [TA]-B0DH!$@TTV@, it appears you are no longer our Space Invaders Champ B)
  18. ? That a Flash game we have?
  19. Training video that can be found here http://www.biggerhammer.net/barrett/ states that the "felt recoil" on an M82 is comparable to a 12 gauge firing slugs, as Punisher pointed out. But anyway, I also missed the Stieldhands. They are how I got most of my kills, even more than my Sterling. I wouldn't mind the current grenades if they weren't so hard to get set up and throw.
  20. Woot! My best online buddy has FINALLY come to the forums. Hope this won't be your last visit here.Orion is the guy who taught me Canada has many great things to offer... especially Canadian Whiskey. B)
  21. I kept hearing what a kick ass game Halflife was, and asked my system adminstrator at the printing company I worked for if he heard of it. (he was a gamer too) He said "I'll burn you a copy of mine, and go ahead and play it online, I don't like playing the game MP". I accepted the offer, of course. It CAME with a copy of TFC, and that's how I discovered the world of HL mods. I enjoyed the fact that even on a stinking Dialup, I could help my team as a Engineer if I knew what I was doing. (as most of you know, the Engineer's Defense Turret is controlled serverside, so it DOESN'T lag like I was) I got into TFC so much, I frequented a site called "Encounters With Llamas" which featured rather humourous stories about encounters with less than intellegent or stupid peaple in the game. That site told of other halflife mods, such as Action HL and CS. This made me aware they existed.Eventually I started to grow bored with TFC. The day I got my cable modem, I picked up CS when it was still Beta. I ended up loving it so much, it actually almost broke me of a really bad Everquest habit I had B)Eventually lost that connection, and didn't get back into CS until about 3 years later when I got my DSL line. I quickly got disgusted with the community (Even with a halfway decent server to play on).I found Natural Selection by complete accident one day while downloading something completely unrelated on Fileplanet. I followed an advertisement, installed it, and quickly realised it was a HL mod. This reminded me there were more mods, so I sought them out.I saw Firearms and remembered a very brief stint I had playing it when I had to replace my HL disks and picked up the HL MP Experiance Retail disk. I decided to get that, DOD, and Richochet as well.Firearms quickly won me over. I still remember using the prefab assault config to get my first kill on PS_River using the Famas on single shot. That started my search for a decent server. I ended up hopping between Tracy's Trailor Park and THE ARMORY as they seemed to be the only servers that were admin'd right in my eyes. I chose THE ARMORY as my home in the end because the skill level on TA seemed more to my liking at the time.I still like FA, it's just there are certain aspects of 2.8 that make me pull my hair out. (Aha! I have you in my crosshairs... TWITCH TWITCH TWITCH TWITCH DEAD. WTF? Why the hell do AR's beat Scoped guns at EXTREME range?). Once 2.9 comes out, I'll be playing ALOT more.I also enjoy NS and DOD. I wish there were more Richochet servers as well, because I honestly like that game too.
  22. ......We give out foriegn aid, then the world disses us, should we demand the money back?Okay, a bit political, but trying to make a point. The point is, USA bashing seems real popular in Canada now. And we're finding it amusing that when an American tries to turn it around and Canada bash, you get offended. It really isn't right to do something to somebody you don't like being done to yourself.Think about it sometime.
  23. If the guy had immediatly apologised (As I have in the past when I've slipped and somebody calls me on it), then no action is necessary. But he obviously has no respect for his fellow player. We don't need that kind of crap on this server.Bojangles.... your response was kinda..... rough as well. Try being a little more diplomatic next time :DMy 4 year old watches me play DC and FA regularly. Actually, he watches me play just about anything I play. I don't mind... there's something strangly comforting having him at my arm jabbering and asking questions.
  24. LMAOBut I still prefer macs for graphic work. Funny tho
