It's good you are not in a rush tho, most of us were pretty disappointed with the patch. Don't get me wrong, the fixes done were needed. We just were expecting more content and it wasn't there. :/

To illustrate my point of how much better the 12k seems in my hands, I enter the following image. Granted, about 6 or 7 kills were from me firing a mortar, and probably a 1/3 of the remainder is from capping points, but still... that is an obsene amount of frags for me to be getting with the 12k

I would like to add before I put in specific comments that all mounted MG's should be fixed. Especially those Slick side guns. They are utterly useless the way they are now.

I'm not sure the shotties have been "Fixed". I got back into the game today, and immediatly tried the M4 and M14. M14 I may play when I'm bored... that M4 is gonna get as many complaints as the FAMAS. I don't think any of those are overpowered by the way, just overused :DI went back to my usual Sterling, couldn't get anything started. So I pulled out my trusty 12k to see what the fuss was about.Keep in mind, I'm barely warmed up, I haven't played the game regularly in months.Once I whipped out the Saiga, the ownage started. I was able to rip out kills much faster than I could of ever remembered with the 12k. I'm not sure if it's just my experiance with the weapon vs players trying out unfamiliar weapons, or the fact the shotties are still way overpowered, but those kills were coming in.Overall, it's an okay version. I'm a bit pissed the screenshake seems to be still present, but all the pluses overide that and make me happy with the mod. I will definatly be playing FA alot again.

Okay, that kinda helped. I know I can go to the official training servers till I get my honor suitably restored.Incidently.... now fully qualified to operate both the M24 and M82 Barrett sniper rifles :DI've passed all my training missions. I liked the last SF training mission. Sneaking around all those guards was alot like playing Thief. I was in my own element in that training mission

I wish I had taken my recruiters advice and kept my mouth shut about the breathing problems I was having while working on a farm in the hay. I might of had a great career in the Navy My ASVAB scores were so high, I had every recruiter in town beating down my door offering me any position I wanted.I had wasted 10 years being a shiftless bum after that, but I really don't regret it as I had alot of great times and my wish NOT to go back to that has made me the hard working individual I am today.I have a great family now, a nice house, and great friends. Guess it turned out okay in the end.My only wish is to try and be a positive influence for those around me and continue to enjoy my expensive hobby of gaming

Okay, this game is giving me fits. The server filter is non fuctioning which pisses me off to no end when I'm trying to find a server that fits my "honor level". I waste alot of time joining servers that will not allow me to join due to low honor. And i get even more pissed because the server list disappears every time I have to back out of a server that won't allow me to play.Very very buggy. I'm very unhappy with this.

Well, tried it under the name Kaeldaen... the physics take alot of getting used to. In time I could see myself getting into it tho.

Okay, I'm 89 percent done downloading it. I'll probably give it a go tonight.

About a year ago I put together a computer on a Soyo SY-K7V DRAGON motherboard. While it's never really performed badly, it's had alot of wierd issues.Until recently, for example, it refused to start every other time I hit the power button. It didn't bother me terribly because it always came on the second time I hit "on"From the begining, the onboard Ethernet adapter never worked. Recently it started working again. Not it's cut off again and I've had to reinstall the network card I had been using from the begining.Also recently, the onboard sound adaptors have decided they want to install. I've done disabled that as I have a Sound Blaster Live card I prefer to use.All these changes happed right when I upgraded from 98 to XP. So I figured "okay, it's an XP motherboard. No big deal". And just shrugged off the whole thing as a learning experiance.However, the Ethernet adaptor cut itself off again which I mentioned earlier. It's installed and working okay according to XP. But... it keep saying the cable is unplugged. It's obviously not the router or cable because plugging it into the freshly reinstalled Netgear network card has everything working again.Just alot of odd things. I can't help but wonder if this is just a Soyo motherboard trait or just the signs of a not quite nearly adept enough user

Leaving the door open is a bad analagy. It wasn't the user who left the door open, it was microsoft.Sasser is just like Blaster, it propigates itself over the internet exploiting holes in the the Windows OS. No file is voluntarely downloaded or opened by the user.... it sneaks itself onto your drive. Thankfully, Microsoft has been good about closing the holes of these two viruses quickly. Then you can say those who don't get the updates are leaving their door open.But those who were victomised at the moment the virus hit the net before the update existed.... you can't say it's their fault.Crashing computer systems can seriously mess with peaple's lives. What if it crashed a system that mailed out paychecks? My checks are auto deposited. If some bastard made a virus that crashed one of the computers and got my pay lost on the internet, myself and my family would be royally F'd! That's not just me, but my wife, and two children that are affected by such a virus.Let's not forget the extra work I have to put in at work now because of these viruses. Every single computer that was made pre-blaster I now have to make sure has Stinger installed on them to remove Blaster because push comes to shove, the stupid redneck who get's the computer will be too ignorant to put up his firewall and get his windows updates (And I try to explain to these peaple how to do it, and 9 times out of 10 I'm back at their house in 24 hours removing the damned worm!) I can't update them at work, because the DSL line we have is a closed company network. And the restore disks I am forced to use to fix major OS problems restore the damn computers to their factory settings with all the damn security holes open.Any bastard smacktard who puts that kind of crap on the internet deserves whatever the law throws at them. And what sucks, is they make MY work harder and yet they're the ones who end up making much more money than me after their meager sentence of 5 years.There's no justice in this world.

I used to have a paid Fileplanet account. The dl speeds were worth it. But I haven't been downloading as much as I used to, and I don't mind waiting so I stopped subscribing.At any rate, I'll have a look at it when I grab it. I wonder if it's the one I saw several months ago?

As I previously posted, the newest of the Thief series will be released May 26. As the date draws near, a new teaser has been released and can be found at the main site at http://www.thief3.com/main.html Even if you are not particularly interested in the series, the teaser itself shows off some of the well known capabilities of the Unreal engine. I was most gratified to recognise the voice actor for Garrett (who's name escapes me at the moment) is the same guy that was used in the first two releases. (This was in doubt as the company who created the original 2 no longer exists) I was also able to locate and read an excellent preview of the game that outlined exactly what to expect from the game. What was new, what was taken out, the gameplay, ect. In the end, the author gave the game a great review, and felt the game "felt" right. It was Thief like we fans expected. The mood, the gameplay, everything. A few things I particularly liked where 1) choice of 1st or 3rd person POV. Previous versions had only 1st person. 2) a lock pick system that is based on player skill 3) Garrett, being the master thief he is, is now able to withstand greater falls before taking damage 4) From what I've read, the AI has been improved beyond my wildest expectations. Guards will now notice things like missing loot, a chair out of place, or even a missing comrade. 5) a "Free Form" mode between missions where from the description the game plays very simular to Grand Theft Auto 3, where you are able to wander the city at will, selling your loot to fences, stealing more loot, finding mini missions, and buying equipment for your next mission More details in the preview I found at http://www.thief-thecircle.com/thief3/danspreview.asp Reading it made me REALLY WANT THIS GAME BAD

Basically, if you want to place a red team mortar marker as close to blue base as possible, the closest you can get is just outside the tunnel JUST AS YOUR ENTERING. This still effectivly puts it at their only exit, but you are not gonna mortar them in their spawn area. If you emerge out of the tunnel where the boxes are, you've entered illegle territory.Far as I know, blue is allowed to mortar their own spawn when rens are at zero.

Guys like him are the reason I like to read those forums... because it's fun to see what happens when you give peaple like that enough rope to hang themselves.

Well, if the guy who placed the marker doesn't step forward and admit it let alone move it, who are we supposed to kick when a flag is placed illegally? Are we supposed to just let peaple get spawn killed? Our only recourse is the kick the guys firing the mortar after we've warned them to stop spawn killing.

This isn't the first time this has happened. I was forced to kick a guy who "Claimed" that it wasn't his marker. We have no idea who places the marker, just who's firing the Arty. My only choice was to kick the one firing the arty after warning that the flag needed to be moved 5 times.Turns out the guy was lying, because the flag disappeared the moment I kicked the guy :)But at any rate, you should of been warned if you weren't. That arty spot is a hot topic we've been hashing out for awhile now.

I've been using Spybot for my own systems and my customer's systems for several months now. I usually use it in conjuction with lavasoft's Adaware. I've been very happy with the results.
