I'm just going to have to disagree. I'm not going to play a game I find more aggrivating than CSS and unbalanced where it matters to me. (So why the hell am I argueing about it?) Said my piece, you all disagree. Guess I'll leave it at that.

I play both sides of the war. As a result, I play with all the weapons. And when I compare my kill rate with a K98 with a Garand, the kill ratio is waaaaaay off in favor of the K98. That in no way in hell is balanced, I don't care what ANYBODY says. That's my opinion, nothing more. Instead of playing and frustrating myself and bitching about it, I just won't play. End of story.

excellent, I shall give CSS a try sometime tonight and see if it makes a diff. If I see alot less "WTF, PWN?" situations, I'll be back in there more :o

Doesn't matter who's making it, what engine it's one, or if I'm paying for it or not. They don't tweak the Garand up a notch (Either more damage or less recoil, NOT both), I ain't playin' it. :peace:

I couldn't go more than 2 round without feeling bad. I found the game deeply disturbing.

I'll let you think of something. I tried coming up with several themes of my own, but I hated all of them. Heh, it is a hard name to come up with something, isn't it?

I swear to god, I think you'r just arguing Caste to be a Jerk. I'm not saying NONE of the hits are registering. I'm not saying I'm not getting kills. There's times were I myself go on these crazy rampages. But the sheer randomness of where shots get dropped into nonthingness is getting so downright regular it's not worth playing anymore. If just two of the knife hits registered, I would of chalked it up to lag. Heck, even just one knife swipes.... but THREE KNIFE HITS AT POINT BLANK NOT REGISTERING MEAN THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG! There is no way in hell when I'm pinging below 90 that 3 knife shots to the gut shouldn't be registering.

I just planted a knife in somebody's gut at point blank THREE TIMES today and none of the hits registered. This brought my blood to boiling point, caused me to cuss, then throw my headphones against the wall. I'm done frustrating myself with this game. They can't make hits register, this game ain't worth playing. Find a different player to abuse, I'm done until they fix it. None of this crap happened till the last update. This is not a case of bad aim, I was at point blank. This was not a case of improper use of a weapon, it was a bloody knife which has no bullet spread. There is something wrong, end of story.

Orion and I talked about this at some length a couple months back. And he came to conclusion that the two of us weren't "Polling" the server at the proper rate. He made a change in his config file that seemed to help, and passed that file on to me. It did seem to cut down on the WTH? PWN??! situations we were running into where our bullet's weren't registering. Unfortunatly, every update seems to reset that setting. I'll see if I can find the old file I used, reinstall it, and see if it fixes the issues I've been having lately. If so, I'll share it.

I'm not sure what happened either. I know we were running 2 servers at one point, can anybody confirm if the other server is running a bigger map cycle?

I'm the "my system can't handle it" My system barely ran BF:Vietnam, so I have concerns BF2 wont' run at all. I'm currently debating how much of my refund my wife and I should spend on computer upgrades. We may end up getting all new computers, but I don't know yet. Overall, I know I'd like the game. My only concern about the gameplay itself will be "What will be done about the baseraping"? The BF franchise is well known for that crap and I really hate getting spawn killed. That's kinda why I don't play Tribes:Vengence now :/

TheSock pretty much took the words out of my mouth. Dropping to spectate mode can make it way to obvious to hackers that we're watching them. Plus many other great points. However, if I'm in Ventrilo, I WILL enforce a no ghosting policy. I catch any of you guys doing it, you'll catch hell from me

I echo Seth's sentiments. I would pesonally love the map if I had a team of coordinated peaple backing me up on the CT side. But that is oh so hard and rare to find in your standard pub setting. So I tend to dislike the map strongly. Especially when I see have the players start to leave after the first 5 or 10 minutes of T domination.

That sounds very unique. Always loved the Thief series, this sounds simular in the whole "do your thing unseen" element. I will try to get home on time Saturday to try this with you guys!

LMAO! That was hilarious. This almost beat's game company "Cavedog" and their gag page (several years ago) where they said "Due to a trademark snafu, our new name is now "Frozen Yak", and our hit game "Total Annihilation" will be hereby known as "Really Cool Strategy Game". Let it also be known that our future release, "Total Annihilation : Kingdoms" will now be known as "Really Cool Strategy Game With Swords".

I kind of jump around from server to server. Depends on the attitude of the players. If I keep running into Elitist types, I dump the server like a hot potato and run to another

I think Kestral spent more time as a tasty snack for yours truly than getting anything done one of those games You should put the game on a combat map sometime when the server isn't too full. 6 peaple really isn't enough for a "Classic" mode NS. Those of you who haven't tried... TRY it. Just to run around as a little "Zerg like" alien at warp speed with the ability to cling to and run on walls and ceilings makes it worth the download.
