ROFL! Good one!

I thought that you would have learned your lesson from my previous stories... I REFUSE to purchase any more BF2 related products. I've had it with this particular part of the Battlefield Series. Although playing Original 42 and BFV has been quite fun and much less irritating.

I'm telling you man... we had so much fun last night - and I plan on playing some tonight. Think about this: > Sniper rifles that kill in ONE haedshot from 300 yards > Tank projectiles fall rapidly with gravity > Bombers - REAL bombers > Mobile spawn on aircraft > Ships that can be moved - and submarines! > 88's on the beaches > Omaha Beach > Iwo Jima > EL ALAMEIN! Need I say more. Good times... and no annoying team bug.

Yeah, WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! Definitely gonna be playing some more 42!!!

In true EA style, there's a 267MB patch that has to be downloaded. Just an FYI.

Since my BF2 is broken and I don't feel like investing any more time right now to fix it, I need to feed my addiction. I was actually thinking of loading up BF 1942 and reliving the beginning. I didn't think anyone played 42 any more but I just went to the 42 website and there are 2600+ players online. Anyone want to get it on? I'm loading it now. Two words..... El Alamein! WOOT!

Tell that to my wife who is taking care of our 2 month old son and who also just let me buy a new truck. After the 5.1 headphones, I promised her no more purchases. On top of that, I refuse to REQUIRE more RAM in my home computer that I use for playing games than I do in my work computer that I use to do high-end graphic design and video editing for broadcast. It's ridiculous. Period.

Thank you for the research and info Klink. I currently only have 1G of RAM... but let me say that I WILL NOT purchase another gig just to play this game. It's frickin' ridiculous. Minimum system requirements = 2G of RAM??? Let me break it down. Here's all the money that I've spent on THIS game: New Computer $1,000 New Headphones $100 New Sound Card $75 BF2 $50 Expansion Pack $30 TOTAL = $1,255 And yes, that's really just for this game. Pretty much all that I use that computer for anymore is gaming. It's sad and it pisses me off. But I'm on a quest to find another game to play until EA sorts out all their junk.

Dood - the rule means that if you're playing as (=A=) JPennStar on another server, that you are expected to still follow our rules. That means no intentional TK'ing, no swearing, respecting admins, etc, etc. Just want to make sure we're clear.?. :o

Hey, at least you can play. I would settle for that. I CTD whenever I try to join a server.

Oh, I meant to add this earlier. I have an eVga 6800GT ---- no ATI here. I tried eVga's new drivers... no dice. I'm just waiting for the new patch at this point and hoping for the best.

I know that you were just having fun, and I'm totally not trying to be a jerk here - but please refresh yourself with the clan rules. Namely: 9. Members must understand that these rules apply always when playing on other servers when displaying the (=A=) tag. Now there is a loophole... just ask FunkyDaSkunky, he'll tell ya all about it.

I flat out refuse to format my hard drive to play a game. That's ridiculous.

I think he's just complaining because his desk is so messy he can't fit his keyboard and mouse on it at the same time. Getting a larger desk with fix this problem. These videos have to be staged. If my kid ever did that... he wouldn't have a computer any more. Period.

Well Defcon... I'm all for finding "the next great game." You just let me know. Right now, I'm at the end of my rope with BF2. Especially after having such a fondness for the game - for it to get to this point really enfuriates me.

I've spent a total of 11 solid hours trying to get the 1.2 patch to work --- and still no dice. I've uninstalled and reinstalled my game 6 times. I've reinstalled DirectX, my graphics drivers, and my cd-key code into BF2. Shoot I've even wiped the registry clean and cleaned out ALL my EA games folders. I'm still dead in the water... and I hate EA. Drat them for making me look the fool after actually STANDING UP for the 1.2 patch in a previous thread. To make matters worse, when I bought the game they didn't have any of the DVD version left so I bought the CD version. From day 1, my CD Disc 2 has been bad. It has a visible flaw in the CD platter - looks like heat damage. I called EA (after we had the game reinstall 1.1 patch fiasco) and they told me that to get another Disc 2 that I had to send them my disc, a UPC code, and my receipt. I told them that I didn't keep the receipt b/c I wasn't planning on returning the game --- they said tough luck PAL. So - after spending 3 hours last night cleaning my PC off to do one last fresh install, I CAN'T BECAUSE MY DISC 2 is permanently DONE. Now, I have to borrow a friend's disc just so that I can get the game installed again - and likely to realize that the daggum patch STILL is hosed. ... and it's official. I hate EA. On a further note, they will get no more of my money for this game or any of it's expansion packs. Greedy biscuits need to get their junk straight b4 I pad their pockets anymore.

Hey, I've had a red car for nearly 11 years and only have one ticket (67 in a 55). Red makes it go faster - LOL! Since it's a true sport truck it only is available in 3 colors: Red, Black and Blue. I didn't like the blue and I've heard too many ppl say they would never own another Black car so I stuck with Red --- oh, and it looks pretty good in red.

Okay, so I downloaded and installed the patch over a week ago... I really have wanted to play. Here's my problem: When I load the game and try to connect to a server I CTD (crash to desktop). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, twice. I have tried running battlefield2_code.exe and re-entering my cd key after a reinstall and then patching. .... and then running battlefield2_code.exe again. I've reinstalled DirectX. Anyone else had this problem? I couldn't find a solution on EA's forums. HELP I WANNA PLAY BF2 AGAIN!

It's 250HP of Baby-seat packing power! The jump seats in the back actually fold down flat and it has LATCH. I've already taken junior for a couple of rides. hehehehe It's actually safer than our car b/c if I get rearended with junior I've got 6 feet of bed before they get to him. It really is a great truck. Utilitarian but fun. I can haul a load of mulch --- very quickly! With junior onboard. It has a towing capacity of 3500lbs. Just enough to pull a couple of jetskis (hopefully one day).

Well, due to an insurance settlement from an accident that my wife was in over two years ago, I finally got to replace my first and only car - a 1995 Chevy Beretta Z26. I tried to last night, but downloaded the broken incremental. It was too late to download the full, uninstall, reinstall and patch - so I'll try to get on in the next couple of days. I'm looking forward to it!

Again, everyone was complaining about realism - and they gave it to us. If you're in a Blackhawk, in a hover (or even flying forward in plain sight) and someone is laying into you with a 50 cal gun, you're not going to just keeping on flying. Stuff is going to break. Since they haven't implemented true flight control problems in Battlefield - they only option is to explode. Same for the AA... if you fly right over an SAM site in BROAD DAYLIGHT and have no way to jam the SAM's ---- you're gonna get some serious frickin' heat. I'm just tired of people constantly whining after every patch. Things such as the jump/shoot complaint now... being a coder, code isn't always that easy to fix. Sometimes you'll code yourself into a corner and to make a seemingly minor change could take an eternity. Hell, you may as well just start over. So instead, you try to comprise with a fix that will appease. I'm not saying that EA is 100% right. But, it sounds like they gave us realism just like we wanted and everyone is going "Weeee weeee weee all the way home."
