  1. that was fun...ny. rofl from big pile of dead bodies from group clay. that human tower on ammo awesome ... clay the ammo ? maybe more then once/mth would be good ... like every sunday noon-3 ? to encourage light-hearted fun and experimenting. "good work soldiers"
  2. ten four ... understood ... so i guess unless i pay ($30) more /mth for business acct or ($15) more for fast upgrade to super-fast, i'll be capped at around the highest 600 up speed i've seen. Which only happens when down speed is lower then usual. Which still leaves me wondering if there's a way in those registry edits or half life files to cap the down speed which will result in higher up speed ?
  3. I am 1 hr drive north of northern central U.S. border with Canada. I went to following link to use given steps to improve net speed, which i got... http://www.cable-modem.net/tt/speed_98.html both pcs increased form rough average of around 3500/400 to around 4500/450... the speed test at that site requires dumping file by emptying temp net files, for repeat accurate test results. so i prefer this other link which doesn't require that and can be seen on modem testing both ways for longer period ... http://www.bluemarble.net/technical_support/dsl/speedtest/index.shtml Cable speeds which i have will fluctuate a lot more then dsl based on cable network users. I've noticed when i get lower download numbers the upload numbers are higher, such as ... 5000/300 ... 4500/450 ... 4000/460 ... 3200/500 ... 2500/600 . Question I have which no answer found at net sites for is ... although fastest possible download speed may usually be preferable, would online gaming run better if these could be more balanced ? That is little less down speed for higher up speed ? And does anyone know way to do this ? I have and read the netcode.txt file sent by Shotty, from Half-Life folder I think, about tweaking it's files for best net use, but it's hard to understand.

  9. roger that. i'm guessing the admin applied ban to "any" matching octets instead of "all" in ip. unless they got hacked same as following post about hl2 forum news from your home page : Ugh Earlier I post about Half-Life 2 going gold on Monday. Well, it was all a fake apparently. Half-Life 2 Fools Gold MikeJ @ 10:20 pm pdt - half-life, hl2 & tf2 - important - 94 comments - hot topic HL2 Fallout's Mr Bond has cleared up the mystery behind a recent post made by Gabe Newell's forum account claiming that Half-Life 2 will be going gold Monday. Since HL2 Fallout is having server issues, we have mirrored the news post: After a close scrutiny of Gabe Newell's account history on the forums, we've come to the conclusion that the gold post is a fake. While we can't be 100% certain at this stage, all indicators point towards someone hacking the forum account. That said, all Gabe's previous posts on these forums are quite legitimate. We apologize for the confusion and will be investigating further. Theoretically, an IPB forum account should be very difficult to hack. Well, that was the theory at least. We'll keep you updated.

  11. ok thanks. i copied/pasted details of this thread and emailed it to various FA Team members and sierra since admin emails unanswered for week now. might wake someone up email pasted below :? The following is a paste from public forum where many play and discuss sierra games like half-life-firearms. It relates to discovered fact that admin of http://www.forums.firearmsmod.com has placed ip ban that includes all 4 octets of ip address which upon questioning people publicly in other net forums found out many other Canadians in Ontario, Canada get ip ban message when just trying to read said forums. Do you agree it's in your interests too, to contact said admin or owners, advising that someone goofed with ip ban causing thousands of Canadians on "Rogers Inc" "Shaw Internet" to be unable to read about Firearms at their forums, thus if thinking about buying Half-Life to play FA, may not. Others have suggested this is an anti-Canadian thing since it effects only Canadian internet users . They should only ban based on complete ip match but is blocking those with just 1st 2 pairs same. Icopoli wrote: curious, do you guys use shaw? If so, I probably got you banned. They banned 2 octets of my IP that I know of, friend has same first 2 octets, and different last 2, hes banned there too ^-^ Go me! Jawhol (yes sir) !! My 2 pcs here for me and Tigerhawk and Klinks other end of city, use Shaw. That is totally rediculous of them. If they banned by 1st 2 of 4 octets I'm guessing that would include most central Canada Shaw customers. The admin that did this needs a slap in my opinion. For privacy reasons I'm starrring the last 2 ... 24.78.**.*** . Both pcs here have same 1st 2 pairs.

  15. ok thanks email just sent. klink never registered there and also gets same message just trying to view their forums. he is in same city. so if anyone can see those forums, i suspect a ban of the earlier componets of ip which would include this whole city, or larger area.

  17. if you mean their "gline" link search, i tried it and it said my ips not found on any ban lists. i found way to change mac address (adapter address) of ethernet card. which resulted after reboot with totally different ips assigned to both pcs from cable network. but even with these new ips, we still get the following message at firearmsmod.com when just trying to view forums, not trying to post, not logged in. message seems they want even viewers of their forums to be logged in users. " Sorry. The administrator has banned your IP address. To contact the administrator click here." can anyone view their forums now without logging in ? maybe i need to change more then the last number of ip ?

  21. Is it possible to protect one's ip address from being seen when you simply read someone's web pages ?It has come to my attention this is being done by some sites and i don't like the idea of them seeing and recording ip addresses of all that simply read their pages. A possible security and/or privacy issue.

  25. In return to dial inviting tbt members to join them, tbt welcomes all of them to join us ... no catch ... play whenever ... use 1 decided name with tbt tag, not to be changed ... i suggest something to be recognized with like ... [TBT]-DIAL-DOC ;-) ... WHY ? ... tac has more then enough ... tbt could use some TEAM players ;-) no commitment or strings attached ;-) just a clan stats differance ;-) i good one as we honor you players as respectable players and TEAM players ;-)
