  1. maybe a hardware or software firewall of reputable company from same site, will block it. other sftware yuo mention like spybot and spyblaster need to be set in options properly to run always to block properly. check settings carefully ;-)ps : routers can be very hard to figure out how to configure trough net. persevere, otherwise forget it , take break, try again later after asking for help
  2. i saw that and had tigerhawk verify in case i was "seeing things" :o , has yet to rehappen since wiping hard drive and reinstalling all with new nic and security. it didn't happen to pc she uses here, just mine. so i figured ip sensitive cause/differance.
  3. well ... not exactly same here but probs somwhat similar have Cable provider monitoring, reformat/new install/new security/loggers of net incoming, etc / net provider said many complaints from others of similar ... as did security software provider say ... who knows ... being tracked as possible ... oops, not supposed to say ... can say try new spybot which may find stuff it can't remove which other companies are working on ... might try changing network card ($20) which will be assigned new ip ... and help identify what comes in from net since fresh accept/question list created. sorry this vaque but waiting for more clear answers myself. you're not alone ;-)
  4. uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled bfv, ran 1.1 patch... in multiplay server join or single play map load, map load bar completes but next screen to pick team/spawn point doesn't come ... sometimes i get background of map appear, but no menu overlay or anything to join.tried uninstalling/reinstalling/reupdating twice ... no change.currently searching bfv support site for similar prob post but nothign yet.any ideas ?
  5. hmmm ... i not sure but that seems like a hefty power supply needed, which may or may not be in older lower price (celeron) sytem. if you burn out the power supply you may not know it as one symtom is unit comes on but won't bootup, making it seem like hard drive or ram or mobo prob. just not enough power coming out anymore for everything.
  6. your system similar to my 2nd pc here. as i posted, learned frustratingly that older mobos and cards are better off with older vcard drivers. i'd go with gforce but use 45.23 nividia drivers (oldest driver for vcards and still use dx9). newer drivers are optimized for newer mobos and vcards even though they say newer drivers ok for older cards.

  8. added edited info to long post above i 4got to include, see step 8 regarding "msvcrt.dll" which may have been part of problem as well as much older version in "Joint Ops" demo folder i will soon replace with newer version of said file to see if bad jo demo works better.

  10. I got them all working now logged in or not for anyone searching forums here in future with similar probs, here's what i had to do :1- check shortcut or problem program to know where it's folder is because uninstalling leaves folder and the odd file in which must be deleted after uninstalling and rebooting. or use "add/remove" in windows control panel if you can find referance to it there. if not, read on.2-use file manager (desktop computer-explore) to use "find" option and try various searches like : "macromed" ; "shockwave" ; "flash" . to see all folders & files that are left behind related to it. delete them if sure they only for that program. reboot.3-i had been using "fix-it 2000"-"win registry cleaner" and "norton utilities"-"windoctor", repeatedly til they find no more errors, then to the other one and back because 1 reg fixer would miss some the other would find, then the 1st 1 would find more after the 2nd was done cleaning registry. reboot.4-it turned out that the 2 reg cleaners actually didn't get all registry keys (referances and settings) for the shock and flash software. i found this out when i got up courage to use manual registry editor. win has 1 called "regedit" to enter in run box and run. i used norton manual reg editor because it records changes i make in case i need to reverse any. SO USE MANUAL REGISTRY EDITOR after making a registry backup in case you make things worse. use reg editor "find" same as done above for those same words. many windows registry folders and sometimes just a key in an ok key folder. don't delete a key folder unless it is clearly named for just the problem software. sometimes the folder is used by other software so you only take the keys in it out relating to problem software. once 1 deleted, use f3 key or whatever specified, to go down list to next occurance. it may take few seconds so be patient. just hit that key evry 10 seconds or so as it will come up empty from previous deletions that have other referances related to them. reboot.5-run automatic registry cleaners again. reboot if anything found and fixed.6- before attempting installation again, be sure nothing but windows (explorer) and systray show in ctrl-alt-del list. no firewall, antivirus, or anything. i had shut everything off too, so know for sure my registry was too messed up from multiple attempts to install that created many duplicates in registry and hard drive, preventing ever getting it working.7-once installed, i tried website flash games. not logged in they all worked. logged in to website for them to record my scoring, the games restarted the browser and asked to send error report to microsoft like before. so it was clear something preventing website "seeing" me and how i was doing in flash game so they could record scoring on their lists. disabling firewall got all games working while logged in to site. since other pc here is same setup, and it works wit hfirewall on, i just have to find the firewall setting i nthis pc that is blocking this data flow.8-because the browser error window that said it would have to restart all browser windows showed "iexplore" (ms browser 60) and "msvcrt.dll", i did file manager search for msvcrt.dll. it showed up in various folders. the 1 in windows\system was the newest (6.10...) of all those. windows would not let me rename it saying in use. so in dos mode i renamed it with bac extension. then copied closest older version of it from elsewhere. i also noticed the "Joint Operations" demo folder had one very old version of this file. i will try replacing it with a newer 1 t osee of bad demo performance improves.i'll copy/paste this to macromedia website forum where lots of similar probs posted. ofcourse these steps would apply to any software running/uninstalling/reinstalling problem.as i tell the boys, "clean up your own mess". ask for help how if needed."Goodknobin" [TBT]Srg_Shultz "mission accomplished"

  12. jawhol heir commadaunt  i've "heard" that best amd at same speed can be like cheapest intel (celeron, cheaper parts then regular cpu's) . so cheap amd (duron) would not be close to performance of same speed better amd let alone regular intel cpu. all's working well now. i'll post what i learned about flash probs in other post about flash crash browser in this forum. it works now !!

  14. thanks for reminding me of that forgotten run box command. it says on main dxdiag window, processor = AMD Duron Processor, MMX , 3dnow, ~1.3 ghz. does this mean the 3d is active ? all windows say no problems.

  16. ok thanks. now i must try to find way to know if it is active or not. anyone know how to check this ? i had nvidia driver version 53.04 today to test. after about 3/4 hr while my son playing countersrtike, it got the black screen pc freeze like i was getting week ago in fa with newest 61.76 driver. so i "took out" this bad driver and put in driver # 45.23. and played for hr in ct no prob. logical conclusion is 50 series drivers and up no good for my system. too bad i messed up my shockwave and flash players thinking prob with them. still trying to solve that issue from other thread in this forum called "help flashing crashing browser".

  18. If you have these you may be able to answer this. I think but am not sure, when installing latest 61.76 nvidia drivers for my gforce2 mx 400 - 64 mb vcard, that it asked if I wanted to enable or disable the amd cpu "3dnow" circuits. I remember something around a week ago asking me this but not sure what it was. I remember thinking only games written for "3dnow" would benefit. So I figured better performance possible if I leave that off. None of the older nvidia driver installers asked me this, which I have gone back to for now (series 45.23 to maintain dx9 recognition). Maybe disabling amd cpu 3dnow is problem. I may have to redo drivers back to 61.76 to see if that asked about this.Any of you amd users see such a question installing nvidia vcard drivers ?

  20. hmmm ... tried microsoft feedback to the letter fom above link ... with only explorer (windows) and systray running in ctrl-alt-del list ... nutin tried safe mode stand alone flash 7 installer from desktop ... nutin from nutin leaves nutin in link above from macromedia forum, one fella menationed uninstalling ms browser ... i see no way or explanation how to do that :x all this because i decided against my better judgement and experience to upgrade my gf2 mx400 64mb drivers to latest in hope of improving Joint Ops fps. often in past got more probs using latest drivers for older card and system so stayd with oldest ones that worked. "if it ain't broke don't fix it" or it may end up worse like mine now. that was likely what caused fa to occaisionally lock pc with black screen. which led me to tighten firewall thinking hack attack. which stopped website animations. which made me uninstall reinstall flash and shock wave. i got oldest nvidia drivers workable with dx 9 = 45.32. still have flash prob. currently your only flash that no crash browser is penquin if i not logged in. yet if i try it logged in browser restarts. :?: "f10" rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!

  22. "good knob in ?" (good day ?) sorry to hear that "hair?" commadaunt  a hairy situation glad it was worked out "none the less", except you "less" big bucks for alternator eh ? were you using air conditioning on max as well as headlights and power tunes ? just in case you donno, most alternators do not put out enough juice for everything electrical maxed out so after number of hrs battery slowly drained. as a possible result, heavy sudden load or too long or suddenly heavy to no load can fry part of generator. so i usually turn 1 thing on or off at a time with slight pause before more on or off . which is why i prefer volt/amp meters to monitor instead of warning lights that don't always come on until it's almost too late. anyway glad you're back so you can get [TBT] stats improved

  24. I am 1 of many with this problem considering maybe around 1 % actually post it at macromedia and microsoft. The repeating microsoft browser v6 error send to microsoft popups when it says must restart browser must be flooding microsoft. if they PAY any attention to them maybe some pressure will be on to address this. the link to see about macromedia forum posts on ths is ... http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=185&threadid=838653 the link to see microsoft faq response on this is ... http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;302396 i've tried all suggestions in those threads accept safe mode idea. they have winxp that has safe mode admin option. i have win98se but assume my safe mode is as good as admin as no other option given by it. shultz can't "flash" anywhere til solution is found  i seem to get shockwave installed/working since when i go to main www.macromedia.com page it shows shock flash animation. and it shows in add/remove list. but attempts that say successful for flash 7 install leave no evidence in add/remove list. at this stage, some macromedia pages casue browser error. at TA site ... with just shockwave apparently working ... i can only play "beat the penquin" when not logged in. as anonymous all other flash games crash browser. logged in, not even penquin works. well sometimes it did and sometimes not in this spiraling out of control circle of tryign this and tryign that. should be clue here to someone knowledgeable. "and the answer is" ? please don't waste space here joking around. this seroiusly stressing me out. ps : thanks paladin, no go yet.
