one of the other leaders wanted a temp solution to get all the maps to everyone, so made a link to the site, therefore leeching your bandwidth could this have contributed to connect errors during fa ? server crashes, etc ?

thanks anyway shotty, i got it working in pc1 by zipping ww2-bfv-mod folder in pc2 and copying into pc1, as well as shortcut.Klink, it's hard to let those great oldies go because of the humor put in them missing from games since then. when i need laugh i occaisionally turn to them

jawhol heir commadant, i have both in pc2 and poe in pc1 so far. i like the ww2 music. especially that of Hedal of Honor.

anyone had this problem and/or know of possible salution ? :roll: with plenty of free hard drive space = 9 gbs, this installer runs install bar for long time then pops up window saying "not enough disk space".i even defragged and tried again.it went in pc2 fine also with 9 gbs free. but won't in pc1 with 9 gbs free.WAAAAAAAAAAZZUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP !!! :roll:

i confussed ... no surprise but :roll: 3 downlaod sites gave me registration for downlaod but no email back to get it ... wazzup ? ta shows it running in bfv "who's playing" ...

klink will call me dumkolf ... i got the bfv ww2 mod ... :roll: anyway, does these mods make higher system demands with more detail or can details be kept down sams as original bfv for same performance on lowerto mid range systems ?

i downloaded the huge (400 mb?) client file from ea after midnight at fast 300 kb/sec in about 1/2 hr. not installed yet.concerned whether it messes up bfv or makes reg bfv not useable in reg bfv online servers.anyone know ?

I ran to can lots for smokes :roll: as to the bbig sig, tiger once said it was pain for her becasue can't just resize pic due to flash animation at bottom. but if i don't get to it now i tell her when she get home and has chance to just go back to previous smaller pic. ok, lets ROCK !!

also ... slight voltage drop, too small to notice in lights or effect pc, clocks, etc ... i was told cable modem can be more sensitive too ... causing it to recycle as if power had been disconnected for split second ... i had lot of stuff in power bar with modem power plug, power bar power light had been flashing more then usual, possibly indicating too much load on it ... i changed the bar ... so far so good.

yes, i figured it was from just installed 60 series nvidia driver and/or msn toolbar ... i "fired" that driver and uninstalled msn toolbar. with others getting that black screen in fa seems it may not have been caused at my "end", so i messed everything up for nothing, p**p :roll:

my amd pc got quirky after installing msn toolbar. as well as 61 series nvidia drivers. reformatted and reinstalled basics only. then intel pc got quirky so uninstalled msn toolbar from that. use spybot-tools-system startup to get advice on startup items. new version out now. spyblaster used too. also you can try registry cleaners like norton registry doctor, fix-it registry fixer, etc.

thanks, yes, have 45.23 nvidia drivrs that worked for bfv here before ... newer ones have probs i suspect are not optimized for older card/win98/etc ... DOH !! :roll: Seems I was wrong abotu using nvidia 45.23 with bfv before. I had troulbe with latest 60 series and newest 50 series. But I just tried the 56.56 drivers off bfv cd and it works now Just hope i don't get that black screen lockup when in fa as newer drivers seemed to cause recently.

I saw very interesting show about allies taking Sicily Island and then Italy from Hitler's lied to/mesmorised/young troops. There were interviews with survivors of these battles from both sides, in there old age ofcouse. What amazed me and I think worth mentioning, besides their remorse, particularly the Germans who claimed unaware of Hitlers devious actions/orders/unknown mental irrationality ... was that thay were so better trained then our "green" troops landing over there ... the german survivors of Italy defense after Italy joined us, recalled the orders and tactics ... they were VERY SMART and it amazes me our own commanders didn't realize such ... the germans knew from subs and where-ever about the large troop-ship movement to miditerrean/italy ... an allie 1st move to distract them from normandy west coast of france ... german subs in midd sank lots but were many allie ships headign to sicily and italy ... so they left little defense in sicily but were ordered by hitler to slow enemy advance i nitaly as much as possible ... what they did was against nukbers of 4 to 5 times as many outnumbered ... the wa ythey did it was to order italians out of towns so they could set demolitions to blow up buildings and bridges ... when the allies finnaly got to towns, there was only 1 or 2 routes to get vehicles/troops thru ... germans were waiting with mulptiple snipers orderd to only shoot comanders with stripes and badges ... thus slowing organization and allie advancement ... they had such a strong effect, allies were scrambling to keep reinforcements coming ... thus they knew, according to german survivor of that, many "green" troops would come ... the CANADIAN TROOPERS were often given front line attack orders while "Montgomery's" Brit forces were in reserve, as well as U.S troops ... what shocked me was canadian survivor testimony that when problems and major life loss reported to Montgomery and U.S commanders, response was ... it's your assignment-your problem-keep sending them in as fast as possible ... this program makes clear such orders/decisions were bad decisions at cost of many lives that could have survived wit hless stubborn thinking of commanders ... anyway ... point here relating to games is the smart deceptive way the surving germans admitted orders they carried out to blow up buildings, forcing allies thru traps of snioers and machine guns and booby traps as well as letting allies think 2-3 floor building safe to enter for better vantage shooting points, once 10 -30 allies in there, a well hidden bomb and wires, blew the buildings and all in or near to sky ...this way they got like 10-1 kill ratio against 10-1 odds being very outnumbered ...i feel sorry ofcourse for these green allie troops with no experienced comrade to warn them ...one allie interviewd said he say fresh green candian troop of like 20 coming up 1 street ... he was hidden and yelled and even ran towrds then waqrning back off takwe cover ... it was to late ... 1 big hidden demolityion charge took them all out ... he got wounded and is why he's here today ...sad, yes , sorry, point is not just remember wrongness of battle and taking of life, but these mistakes could make for great game ...in other words ... imagine "fa"-"thanatos" with demolition charges that could bring down a building with all in it :o anyway, cheers y'all, enjoy challenge of no harm battle here and maybe future war will be this
