Btw. it seem that the autoupdate of C-D dosen't work to good. I had 4.19 and it would tell me it's the latest version. So if you have problem connecting to the Server or get kicked from it make sure you have C-D 4.22 installed. If not get it from http://www.unitedadmins.com/cdeath-dl.php And let's all hope it will be running for sometime now before Steam breaks it again [DIAL]Doc

Hm, don't know I have custom M16 model and crosshair and both work with C-D on. No clue on this?!? Also C-D usually just freezes you and sais something along the line "System modified blabla" I don't think it would change textures and stuff???Btw. latest C-D is 4.22 and you have to manual install it. Jerkov all burst weapons are affected by this (see later) bug, as well as the shotguns too. I'm a bit tired of ppl only saying the M16 is since it's not the only burst capable weapon. As u all know I use exclusively the M16 but I only use it in Single shot right now (and try really hard not to forget to switch to it), unless rushed by ppl who use Brust or Shotgun no need to hold back for them :twisted: The bug is that each bullet (or pellet in the shotgun case) dose twice the damage. So 1st bullet normal damage 2nd twice and 3rd three times. For Shotguns it's even worse since they fire about 12 pellets, well I let u do the math :)To Punisher I do agree 2.9 is by far the coolest FA version ever and once all these bugs are gone it will be great! I don't really care about the new guns but the new maps are nice and my favorite point the fixed prediction is way too cool :)And maybe have the next version tested a bit more and on a larger scale might really help avoiding these kind of problems. On the other hand all of the FA team dose this in their spare time so I'm glad they did spend time to make this cool mod :)Just have fun playing the game,[DIAL]Doc

Addon, Sat night from 10pm pst till now (time of this post) all FA server seemed to behave super strange. Shutting down every once in a while (from 2minutes to 20minutes till shutdown)god-cow, <TAC>Punisher and others can confim this...Really strange and it seemed to have affected other FA servers too not just the TAC ones :PWell hope someone finds that bug soon,[DIAL]Doc

Hello, Here is a list of all the strange and funky stuff I encountered so far in 2.9 in the hope that maybe some will know how to fix it or to help point people into some direction regarding bugs. I'm not going to talk about weapons though, so please don't post about them ether Let's try to find the source of these constant server crashes so it can be fixed... 1. Crashes / Disconnect: a. My HL dose crash hard with some win exception (can post it if you think it will help) this happens from time to time and has been happening since 2.8 so maybe nothing to worry b. Client 57 not present (or something along that line) you end up on the FA main menu and wonder why you where kicked from the Server. This also has been happening since 2.8 but seems to happen more frequent since 2.9 (again might be coincidence and maybe more a Steam issue than FA) c. Sometimes I get disconnected and Steam has following message for me "Disconnected from Server. Reason: Server shutting down" as far as I could tell no Admin was doing this and no warning or other message was seen (sorry if I'm wrong on that) which is strange, the server shouldn't shut down by itself, right? 2. In Game strangeness: a. While in sd_durandal I was hiding at the bottom of the Red sewer ladder with [DIAL]Panther. I just had chosen Med1 skill and had only 2 Bandaids left I treated him then me and was out of Bandaid. But after some while I got one Bandaid back? b. While playing in Iwo the scoreboard got messed up (see pic http://www.thearmory.cc/modules.php?set_albumName=album01&id=whatisthis&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php) c. Server has every once in a while huge lag spikes for about 10-30seconds (latency going up to 2000 is normal) Now what's strange about this is that on my Netgarph (3) I don't see anything of this, no choke no loss and the ping is normal at 40ms. Ok now I don't know ether the FA code nor the HL engine, so I'm making a wild guess here (FYI I'm programmer ) but some of these thing just look like memory leaks or something like that. Since the server seems to crash more often with more players and also the crashes seem very random (memory leak bugs are the worst :evil: ). It would be cool if we could somehow measure the Server Memory use and see if it increases over time up to the point where the server ether crashes or dose the weird lag spikes. If you know or have other strange issues let's try to collect them all here... ...and if you know fixes or ways to help against some of these problems please post too Thanks, [DIAL]Doc

Hi Gator,I treated god-cow for concussion yesterday on Armory1 server without it crashing. Or at least right away. This might be only in the Linux version of the server.But if I get to it I'll test it tonight (Assuming that Armory4 is still 2.9)Hope they can fix the problem soon,[DIAL]Doc

Well I meant the sequel mania that the gaming industry is following is almost as bad as Hollywoods sequel mania for moives (I think last year there where 25 movie sequels released :shock: ) YES SIR!!! Already working on it So be sure to come to play today I'll be on the server all day 8) Well I haven't seem them. But as I said I didn't even bother, I mean why do they have to make it all 'uh we can only show it in special places, ppl are so eager to see we can do this etc.' This just plain anoys me :evil: We will see if they are any good. They didn't have their own booth, but Microsoft and Sony did show it at their booths (and somewhere else I saw it too but can't remember ) They did actually show it last year already (if I remember right) and it was very early (lots of bugs and very unpolished) I don't know haven't paied a lot of attention to that title To Going54: The E3 is Geek heaven or more professional, it's the Gameing industries big event were every one is out to over pass the others with their latest games. It's a big show of showing of (LOL) but it's really cool since you get to see all the upcoming games and what's up for the future in gaming (e.g. PSP and Gameboy DS) The show itself is though restricted to ppl who work in the game industry and press. Hi guys, back save and sound :)Was really fun (even though I'm disapointed with this years E3, kind of)It's pure maddness, but there are only (I think I counted 20+) sequels comming in the future! So if you hade some games you really did like rest assured there will be a sequel comming soon.Cool games I saw (no particular order):- Jak III- Ratchet and Clank 3- Final Fantasy 12- Kingdom Harts 2 (only movie)- Devil May Cry 3- Resident Evil 4- Killer 7 (only movie)- Fable- Star Wars Knights of the old Republic II- Doom III (on Xbox only, PC version was only showed enclosed show room, like the last 2 years what the heck!!?!??!)- Metroid Prime 2- Zelda: The Legend (only movie)- Battle Field 2- Prince of Persia 2- Many more...(as you can see form this short list, there is a insane amount of sequels comming out, but don't get me wrong they are all very pritty and cool )Strange thing I haven't seen Halo2 at all (I think was only showed behind closed doors) other strange thing there is a lot of WW2 and Vietnam shooters comming our way (so if you like historical shooters you'll have lots of choices )Fun thing they showed HL2 again only in enclosed show rooms and the wait line was long again (didn't even bother waiting) but it seemed sorter than last yesr and that the ppl that were waiting didn't seem too happy about it?!?!? I like it too, it's a lot of fun and these last stands are often the best in a round :)And just for the record red team is doing it the same way (with a nice ammo box) and I don't care if they do, because I know they will and I would too......So I would say stop complaining and just play the game and if you don't like the end just wait or leave until the next map starts.[DIAL]Doc

The only mod I ever played that had throwing knifes was ActionQuake2 :)That was quite fun, but I don't think FA ever had them...[DIAL]Doc

I'm not sure I would agree on that point (at least I have a good example of a case where I think this would be bad) ps_sandblast (is the map I think) if one team it pushed back hard and can't get out of their main tunnel the only hope for them to tip the balance is by boosting some ppl over the fence or into the building at spawn so they can come around and attack the enemies from the side. I don't think that case should be counted as an exploit? or? Further on the exploiting of the roof (same map) I never really had a problem dealing with ppl who do that. There are too many angles you can move into position and fire of nades from you m203/m79 to get them, or single shot them while they are looking somewhere else. Agree you might not get them the 1st try but they will die at some point. The only exploits I would have problems with are the ones where you can't see your opponent at all e.g being on top of a building and able to shoot through the building or even just see ppl moving in there. Since often these exploits don't require the exploiter to move anywhere near the edges (and thus expose him to enemy fire) Other than that I am usually able to kill ppl trying to use exploits sooner or later Cu on the server, [DIAL]Doc P.S. Sharp I'm willing to help you if you need ppl on your quest to document map exploits...
