ok 1st of all [DIAL] isn't dead It's nice of [TBT] to offer this, but I guess there it's a 'stale mate' :)which isn't surprising ether (long story and I wont bother you guys with it) on the other hand here is some background info for ya all and maybe some will understand a bit better afterwards...*story mode ON*Also wearing this tag ([DIAL]) has a lot more meaning for most of us in [DIAL] all current members of [DIAL] are long time friends (8+ years at least). It all got started long long time ago (18+ years) when some friends (other, older ones) decided they wanna create a computer club. The Commodore C64 was the big thing back then but still rather expensive. So they got together and did found a computer club with the purpose of spreading knowledge and fun using computers. The name was DIAL. At first C64 then later Ataris and Amigas (you guys still with me here, right?). Then PC became more popular and replaced the older systems. With the PC came the networking (or LAN) Novell at first, later WinNT and then Win2000. This opened up tons of new things to do playing games over it was one of the most important things (I think the 1st thing we played over the LAN was Ncsnips on Novell, then soon Doom and well the rest is as they say history). Then well the Internet became the next cool thing and opened up another dimension, online gaming and the creation of our Brotherhood of DIAL and it's tag [DIAL]. Until in the recent years most people had better hardware at home, since PC became cheaper to buy. And had a much better Internet connection than the club could afford. That's when the club started to loose a lot of its members over time. Which sadly ended its existence in late 2003. But most of the people who had become good friends over these years have stayed in contact through our Brotherhood of DIAL.I did join the club during it's peak years when the Amigas where at their prime too and had many many many many many many great moments there. Over the years I also got more and more involved in the club and I spend a lot (really a lot) time there helping out but also just having a blast with my friends down there (LAN parties every Saturday, who could ask for more?! no lag and you could yell at each other )So most of the [DIAL] people you see are from that time and where active part in this cool venture, that was the DIAL Computer Club. *story mode OFF*Hope you guys didn't fall a sleep? Muahahahhahahaha...I do love my M16 but I must say the knife is some good fun too (even though Cow still beats me hands down )Sometimes we do knife only rounds (when there are ony 4 players on the server or less) which is really fun and a big change from the run&gun you usually play. It's all quite (because every one has stealth) and you don't hear a single gunshot it's quite strange at moments :PGood fun, too all who played yesterday night these 3 maps of knife only ;)And for all the ones that are worried I would neglet my M16 you don't have too, is still my nr1. weapon so don't worry you wont be knifed by me anytime soon[DIAL]Doc

Totally agree! This is why I posted that remark in the 1st place, just seen serveral posts of ppl to say nothing constructive got me upset. There seems to be way to much of that recently and I don't see the point of it. If you don't like it then that's fine, no need to just post junk right? After all you're not forced to post to every thread :o [DIAL]Doc

Nah, get the Logitech MX510 very nice 8 buttons very comfortable and nice blue (or red) metallic look 8) http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=3,CONTENTID=7982 That's the one I got after my old mouse did the same as yours... ...DIE My fire/left button wouldn't work (which really makes it hard to shoot in a FPS, it's like constant weapon jamming ) [DIAL]Doc

I do play regularly FA since it by far still the most fast paced FPS around. But I own also a BF:V and JO and try to play them next to FA too (too bad a day has only 24 hours and that I need to work and sleep ) To Manowar: I do disagree with you, it's the most frustrating part of BF:V being spawn camped at your last spawn by helicopters that you can't damage (US troops) and that even if you'd managed to empty a whole M60 clip into them just have to move down to the Landingpad and get instant fixing going while you wait to respawn because he blew you up again.NO THIS ISN'T FUN AND NEVER WILL BE!I was always a grunt guy running around with my M16. It was always my fear of DC and a bit of BF:V too, that vehicles would just dominate the game and that being a grunt meant you'd be cannon fodder. I still do like BF:V when there are not too many vehicles and it gets to normal ground combat. I have to admit that I totally suck at flying the helicopers in BF:V and don't really have the interest to learn how to (give me an m16 and m203 and I'm happy ) That's why I like JO a bit better than BF:V. Sure you can die fast and a lot there but never ever did I had the feeling of being powerless. Vehicles in JO are much more frail than the ones in BF:V (you aren't invincible inside of your helicopter) so even I with my M16 have a fair chance of downing a helicopter by just firing at it and hoping to hit the pilot or make him bail and move away. And there is always the good old Stingers or 50cal Guns if he is persistent :twisted: I think it's really about your personal favors in what you like in a game which one you choose...FA - Fast pasted Action pure adrenaline rushBF:V - Heavy vehicular based with realistic handling, slower than FA but not as slow as JOJO - Hugh fights, less vehicular, slower gameplay and much more simulation like shootingAs many posted before, I like TAC because of the cool ppl playing here and the well maintained Servers. I try to play all 3 games (FA, JO, BF:V) when ever I see some of you around on the Servers. So all I hope and wish for the future is that all the cool ppl that make this comunity so cool stay around and that we all keep playing games together and having fun...So time to play, let's check who's playing [DIAL]Doc

Yes old bug, still kind of anoying right? I don't mind deleting them from time to time, but would be nice if it got fixed someday :)Also as WSAENOTSOCK pointed out it now is names of players and stuff (in 2.8 it was just garbage) I'm wondering where that stuff comes from? Also I noticed sometimes getting strange extra strings in the Map Message (just before you choose a team) these are most of the time player names and other garbage [DIAL]Doc

Well I have one of these files I can't even delete :shock: Windows tells me following thing "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk" anyone has an idea how I could delete it?since that really sucks to have a file you can't delete I keep deleting them every once in a while since they will show up again when you play.[DIAL]Doc

Sounds all like great fun and I'll be gald to attend......but here is the catch work has been crazy so far this week and as it is with crazy work it might require the weekend, so I don't know if I will really be able to make it......I'll try that's for sure [DIAL]Doc

Oh-oh can't we all be friends? Feel kind of uncomfortable being fighted over?! But also somehow happy to see ppl do like playing with me FA (for various reasons) Thank you for the kind words I do like to play with almost every one (I'm very easy going) for example:god-cow because I he is one of the few that talks a lot (sometimes a bit to 'harsh' to others but then we all know it's cow and he dose that sometime) never the less I also think he is a talented player, if he would play more serrious but that's his choice or TBT I do like all of you (Girl and Boys ) I'm not someone who has problems with spam it's part of the game and sometimes the only way to victory against a much stronger opposing team. And they do usually try to use the mic for tactical updates which is very usefull to the team. They are a good teamworking bunch :PI'll also get Klink to not use Burst on the M16 any longer :PWe all play FA for the fun, as for comparing FA to CS cow that's one of these points I would have to disagree with you (but then we do sometimes don't we all) I think the few ppl that play regularly on TACs FA server are among the best and nicest ones around and most trouble makers are usually taken care of fast thanks to the ever watchfull Admins.It all starts with respect for each other regardless of race, religion or playstyle...[DIAL]Doc

Yes, please try it maybe my FA is messed up or so......also I got it using the mega map pack of TA so maybe some files are missing in that pack?I know the push.wad needs to be downloaded separatly for some maps...[DIAL]Doc

Hehe I know sharp u can complain as much as u like u're a good player so u're allowed too :(But I just really try to not abuse my M16 by not using it in burst every time I go after a shotgun guy with the burst and someothers step in the way they usually just get wasted :PSharp u owned me good tonight on tc_caen, that's was some evil gun u're using [DIAL]Doc

On a side not obj_omaha isn't working in 2.9 anymore. Or at least when I tried to run it to make the 'who's playing now' pic it crashed my FA :(Else I like Sharps list add folloing ones to the mixobj_clermontps_fortressps_runnersd_woods2003[DIAL]Doc

Well as most of u know I use the M16 :shock: but I'm using it on "SEMI" for the time being or at least try to not forget to switch too it. I mean most brust capable weapons can be fired in other modes that aren't affected by the bug (Semi or Fullauto) :(I hope that would be ok with you Sharp I do admit that I have no bad feelings using the burst mode if I get rushed by shotgun or burst using enemies. I usually forget anyway to switch in time Agree it's a game enjoy it and be patient until the FA team has fixed these issues. Keep in mind they do this in their spare time and out of fun doing this. They don't get payed to work on this mod. So please have some respect for the work they've put in.So enjoy the game, have fun and remember it's only a game......speaking of I need to go play,[DIAL]Doc
