I just finished deleting and reinstalling BF2142. I looked at the patch file and it does not have the word beta in the name. BF2142_Incremental_Update_1.25_-_1.40 Can you see where I could think that is a live patch??? I will wait in the future for Gator or other Armory person to say the patch is out.

Maybe I am stupid but: How do you take a snapshot of your desktop?

I guess that is the reason I am supposed to go to Vista? I think I will stay with XP Pro right now. It looked cute but not that cute. Thanks!

I did not know it was a beta patch. It did not say "Beta". I guess I need to pay more attention because I would never put a beta patch on my computer. Oh well it gives me something to do..........

Where did you get the program that is running on the right side of your desktop?

Another example of EA\Dice not doing their job. It should not be this difficult to play a game. I feel like we have to jump thru hoops to make these games work that should have been thought of when written.

I went and patched my computer to the latest and greatest only to find out that EA/Dice had not yet released the server version but in beta. Is the updated server version going to come out soon? How do you remove a patch? I guess I should have waited but I have never had this problem before.

Congrats on getting my dogtags. I am not on that much and do not play the Armory servers as much as I should.

You know what you are doing. Some commanders are just irritating but a good commander issues orders that change to the situation. If I was wearing a hat it would be off to you......

I guess I am not good enought to know that Berlin is unbalanced. Also I would think the quality of both sides would determine that also. I have had some close games in Berlin and then very one sided ones also.

I try to follow the commanders orders but if I am at an enemy flag I try to take that before heading to the commanders objective. I always appreciate a commander that leads but too many commands can cause squads to lose interest.

I noticed that no one under colonel has knifed me. Since you are now Brigadier General I guess I can expect you to knife me also.....

I didn't think of that. We were being over ran and there was no close spawn points but I noticed a pod coming down. I destroyed the beacon and we stopped being overran. I agree that it is important to know where the pods are coming from.

After being killed about four or five times by deploying the SL Drone, I have decided that I am not skilled enough to use that option.

Someone is always going to try to do something the designer didn't think of. We had a blackjack game on a old computer BPC (Before PC) and one guy figured if you bet negative money and lost, you won. He "won" over a million dollars before the program was fixed to accept only positive numbers for the bet. Negative money doesn't exist in the real world but someone figured a way to push the envelope. They do the same things in computer games.

It seems to be about a week to two weeks old. I thought it was neat: "Everything you wanted to know about 2142 stats but was afraid to ask".

That is really neat! Real overkill on stats because I am not that great but definately more info then anyone would want. 43 players have my dogtags and DanBaron was the only one I recognized from this site. After last night there should be at least one more: Lion. He was knifing everyone on the server I was playing.

Saturday evenings. Which is why I get no better quickly....

I might try AA again. The original was way too buggy but maybe they have improved the game play. Thanks for reminding me of this.

I actually meant that I don't understand half of what you people are talking about. I enjoy the forum and like to read the replies. I wish we had more threads started at any one time. Of course my ignorance seems to start them going..........

I have no problem with both sides trying to win. What I do have a problem with is when all the "good" players are all on one side and the lopsided victory becomes the norm. I would much rather play an evenly balanced game where the score stays close until the end. Then even if you are on the losing side you feel that it could have gone the other way if your side had worked harder. On Saturday my cousin and I played on several servers and each one seemed to have this problem of lopsided skills. You will only take being killed immediately on being spawned so many times before you try something else.

I don't even know what some of you are saying part of the time. I take it on faith that everyone here wants to get along with everyone else. Competing against each other causes some boasting and claims that may not be exactly true but most people in this forum seem to like each other.

That does not work for me. I had to use a filter to show people I had dog tags for. (One) I have no problem with knifers except when that is the only thing they do. I only knifed my one person because I ran out of ammunition for my gun and actually thought to change to the knife while he was reloading. "Even a blind squirrel gets an acorn ever now and then"

Thanks. Why did Dice do it that way? It seems you should be able to click on the dogtags and it would show you whose you have, instead of how many. It has the information stored so why make it more difficult then it needs to be?
