  1. I spent the $50 bucks and bought it retail, I'm going to install it now. What game should I start with and who wants to play soon?
  2. I hate waiting, I'll spend the extra $12 bucks and buy it at the store.
  3. my.msn =ox. They were one of the first to offer personalized home pages, I've used it forever and I just can't seem to part ways with it. Does anyone else use a personalized home page?
  4. I rarely get dominated by one specific player, they may get me but I get them back, it's hard to kill me over and over. A lot of my kills are good players, mostly because the good squads are always trying to get flags so we run into eachother a lot. When I get in close I can really tear it up, I'm not that good at rockets/nades and that really hurts me, Gamb annoys me with his rockets. I can hang with the best of em when it gets close and crazy, no rockets or nades in those situations. The armory guys kill me the most, I guess the whole clan is my nemesis.
  5. Welcome, I'll keep an eye out for you
  6. When I first started 2142 I knew what I was doing from BF2 and BF1942. I couldn't get in any good squads because everyone thought I was a noob, it drove me nuts because I was a good player from day one. On my 2nd night playing one of the 82nd airborne guys kicked me out of his squad because I was a noob, I ended up beating him for my first gold star that round. Thats why I like the BF games, if you played one of em for a long time the others are easy to pick up. I'm sure I'd get good at ET because close combat is the best part of my game, most people stay far away when they see a target but I always try to close the gap if I have cover. I wish they would make a few BF levels with lots of people in a small space, I miss the old skool games that were like that. I love 2142 because of the squad play, for that reason I will keep playing as long as I have friends to play with, it will always be fun when the right people are on. I hope COD4 will be a team/squad game like BF, VOIP makes the game. I think walking around and killing people gets boring after awhile, I will buy ET or Halo but not both, once COD4 is released I'll probably be playing that most of the time, I'm just not sure I wanna waste $50 if I'm only gonna play for a month. If more people get ET I will play, it just seems like everyone is waiting for COD4.
  7. It's either this or Halo, I can only get one game this month. Next month will be COD4.
  8. Is it worth buying? I don't wanna get it if you all are gonna switch to halo when it comes out.
  9. I can play crysis but I don't have enough for recommended, I need 512mb of video ram I have 320.
  10. I think most of us will be in trouble with COD4, I prey my GTS holds up.
  11. We're selling our country to the highest bidder, soon we will rely on other countries for everything.
  12. I don't trust those programs, you will never know how well it will run till you buy the game.
  13. What do you pay a month?
  14. Baseball needs a story like this, it gives new meaning to "never give up".
  15. I've never had a connection like that, must be nice. I love how technology gets cheaper with time yet when I first got RR I paid $40/mo, now I pay $50/mo. Granted it's faster but there are so many more RR customers, we deserve cheaper broadband!
  16. It also means they don't listen to their customers, they would rather make more $ and give bad service. DSL sucks in general, cable is the only way to go. I download at 800k these days on my roadrunner.
  17. My sword is my VOSS.
  18. make sure you get a soldering iron that you can adjust the temp or get a low watt "electronics" soldering iron. The cheapo's are usually high watt.
  19. Wear a helmet and the proper clothing! A good friend of mine had a real bad accident on his bike, he had his helmet on but he was only wearing jeans and a t-shirt. He got burned real bad from sliding on the pavement and he cracked his helmet, he was in a coma for 5 days but he's okay now. He woulda died if he didn't have a helmet on.
  20. I have a Toshiba P4 that I've had terrible luck with, I've had it compleatly disassembled 3 times because they didn't re-enforce the A/C bracket and the heat sinks clog up fast. Every now and then I have to open it up and re-solder the A/C bracket on the MB, the last time it came lose I put some epoxy around the bracket, it's been good for 8 months so hopefully it'll hold up. The next laptop I buy will be either a Sony or maybe a Tuffbook. The past two Toshiba's I've owned have had serious problems after a year and a half, I have never dropped one or anything, just bad a design. I hope you don't need a new LCD, $400 is a bit pricey.
  21. Vista ain't all that bad, yes there are problems but dorks like myself actually enjoy figuring things out. I have very few problems with gaming and zero problems with day to day tasks, I actually like Vista better than XP. I didn't like Vista as much until I upgraded to 4gb, that really helped with gaming. Firefox is the source of my problems when it comes to EA Downloader, I had to set IE7 as the default browser and now everything is gravy.
  22. I love BF when it gets crazy and I'm very good close quarters, I'll probably do very well on QW once I got used to the game. I played the original Quake quite a bit and I miss the smaller maps, makes for some intense game play. If you buy it and like it I'll grab it. I'll tell you how to keep sharp....STUDY! Maybe you should make audio notes and play it while gaming (hides from gadfry).
  23. Brutus = OSU's mascot, nothing wrong with the name unless you live in Columbus, it's just way too common around here.
  24. I'd pick Vegas. Since I live in Columbus, Ohio most people around here are obsessed with Ohio State. If I ever see another dog named "Brutus" or "Buckeye" I'm going to shoot myself, I've even heard "Tressel" and "Ginn" at the dog parks. I got Sasha from the local shelter back in April, she's a 1 1/2ish year old Lab/Boarder Collie mix. My neghibor had a white German Shepard named Sasha when I was a kid. Their back yard was a huge hill w/a creek at the bottom, we would play GI Joe and RC Cars by the creek and go sleding when we got snow (thats when the creek got interesting), they would always let her out to play with us. She was a great dog and I wanted a name that meant something to me. Here's a pic of my Sasha: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i245/anibis/hpim0222.jpg The only bad problem I ever had with her was potty training, I've never put her in a crate and she has NEVER torn up anything, she does like to walk around with my slippers in her mouth though. She was at the shelter for over 3 months and I think that really effected her, she seemed depressed the first few weeks I had her. She was skin and bones, would only eat once a day, didn't know how to play w/humans, wouldn't touch a rawhide, and if I wasn't home she would be up laying in my bed even though my roomie was downstairs with his 150lb Rot. that she loves. It took a few months but she's a normal dog now, loves food and loves to play like every other spoiled animal in our country. Sorry for the length, I really didn't intend on it being this long lol.
  25. I don't see how you guys can go from PC to Console FPS games. I get so frustrated not having the ability to move and aim like you can with a mouse. The graphics and features on console systems are always behind PC gaming, that is why I haven't owned a Console since I got rid of my PS2 4 months after it came out. I hope COD4 lives up to all the hype, it should be a fun team oriented game like the BF series are.
