  6. UNIT: Ivan Buchta, Combat Patrol co-author TO: Arma 3 Dev-Branch Users OPSUM: Introducing an experimental cooperative scenario EVALUATION: One of the latest Arma 3 Dev-Branch updates introduced a prototype of a cooperative scenario called COOP 12 Combat Patrol. The development of this scenario started out as a pet project by our Senior Technical Designer Josef and myself more than two years ago. It's now evolved into what might become an official multiplayer scenario/mode in the game. However, before that happens, we wanted to share it with you and see whether you like it as much as we do. Whatever floats your boat...

Seems like the pot's calling the kettle black sort of situation. Being defensive is calling anyone playing Normal mode "kids and console players" Now that is defensive.
  10. Gator replied to B3R3TTA's topic in Gaming
Hardcore isn't any harder than Normal mode, so that is just plain bullshit. In fact, Normal mode is a little harder when making kills because the Damage is set to 100%. Hardcore is more like playing the "Light" version of the game without all the bells and whistles. Maybe you will better understand by giving you an analogy: It's like buying a basic Harely Davidson motorcycle with nothing but tires and speedometer. Kind of plain, ya know Now we have to resort to name calling, that is unfortunate Yes, I like to run and gun. It's an FPS game for god's sake Yes, well I took that time and cap a shit load of flags, got a high score, and won the round. Would you like a cookie? Really? Is that how it's done? We were also doing that in Normal mode, so how exactly would if be any different in Hardcore mode? It's called teamwork, and I have always used it in gameplay. Nothing new here. As I stated before, we will have the opportunity to play our desired mode(s), and that is that. Please don't get angry at anyone who doesn't want to play Hardcore. Calling Normal mode players "kids and console players" will get you nowhere.

I also played Hardcore and did not like it one bit. Here are my issues with it: - Snipers can snipe undetected and unabated (you will notice in game that there are a lot of snipers in Hardcore, because Hardcore is a big wet dream for them) - No kill Log (BF4 Hardcore had it) - No kill notification (BF4 Hardcore had it) - No friendly name tags (BF4 Hardcore had it) Unform recognition is BS ...Some of the tan and brown uniforms are not as easily differentiated in many instances - Increased damage to 100% vs. reduced 65% health (What were they thinking?) - Landmines and trip bottles kill friendly players (Same as BF4, but I didn't like it in BF4 either ...too many stupid pubbers get you unnecessary TKs) I know Axlerod will play it come hell nor high water. He plays is because it's labeled "Hardcore," when actually it should be called "Stupidcore" If and when they fix it, I will then play it then. Until such time, I will play "Normal" mode. The "Classic" mode looks enticing, but I don't forsee these clowns doing anything about it. The good news is we will have 2 servers to play on; one Normal mode, and one Hardcore mode to suit your fancy. The rentals will come online once those knuckleheads to get the RSP fixed.

I disagree. I find the game to be very smooth, and the gameplay slowed down a tad from BF4 to allow for tactical deployment/movement. The complaints that most of us have are not with the game itself, but with the server situation, which hopefully will improve as time goes on. Once the server issues get fully addressed, we will move ahead as we have always done in the past. Everyone has their own opinion of the game, but most of every I speak to love the game. It's easy to sit in a Battlefield 4 channel and bad mouth a game someone has hardly or never played. I'm glad to see the pistols have adequate killing power they do, as they were so nerfed in Battlefield 4. I find that to be a positive, and not a negative. Besides, everyone can use the pistol, so if they are as powerful as you stated, you might want to use it.
  14. I also read there where they got three more actors to play the Klingons. Things are looking up.

EVALUATION: In recent years, a growing number of developers have released their games with 64-bit support. Many of our own community have hoped or suspected that, sooner or later, this simply had to happen to our beloved series as well. To live up to your hopes - we are proud to announce that 64-bit Arma 3 is knocking right at your door, now released on Dev-Branch. But what exactly are the benefits of having a 64-bit game, what does it mean for you as gamers, and why did you have to wait until now? Full Report[dev.arma3.com]View the full article

  21. UNIT: Petr Kolář, Project Lead TO: Arma 3 Users OPSUM: Cleaning the past for a brighter future EVALUATION: In the latest Arma 3 Main-Branch Update (1.66)[dev.arma3.com], we finally managed to do something that many people in the community have asked for. Instead of spending time on developing new content and features, we focused solely on fixing the various issues that had been multiplying under the hood. This 'Clean Sweep', as we call it, consisted of a triage of issues reported in our systems, and fixing as many as possible over the course of one month. The result of this effort was Update 1.66, but what exactly is a Clean Sweep, and how does it work? Full Report[dev.arma3.com] View the full article

Come on, Axlerod  You have one good round, and post an image. Really? I have seen your scores in Hardcore and they are not so good. Enjoy your 125% damage in the new patch. You go get um, tiger. Normal mode for me unless a miracle happens and they make Hardcore decent.
  23. Are you kidding me? Do they not listen? Hardcore is over for me ...period! I will stick with Normal mode from here on out. They just don't get it. They don't play it, so how the hell would they even know what setting most players would like. 125% damage vs. 200% Enjoy Axlerod ...lol :klinked: They did not mention about the server rental fixes. Where is the info concerning this issue...
