If you cannot login and are getting User ticket or Steam.dll error or Other similar problems and Steam will not start.Delete the .blob file in your Steam folder. This will cause your Steam to reupdate.This may be required more than once to work.If not Uninstall Steam and Delete the remaining files in the Steam folder.Reinstall the "HL" for Steam.I recommend installing the FULL 2.8 FA program.Reboot.......If your Steam does start up but you have other problems.......Log out then log back in.If this does not work then goto my User Ticket post in this section of the forum.

It took three tries on one computer using the Delete method.Mac

Do not have CD on when you start Steam.Start CD after you start Steam.Make sure you have CD 2.7 now as well.If CD is NOT required.......do not have it on.

IMPORTANT! :: Sollutions to the "Ticket" & Login problems Well, I saw the complaints and experienced it for my self. I am going to try my best to list out possible solutions to help fix this problem. If you cannot enter a game because you got somthing about Invalid Ticket: First, exit Steam, and open it again to make sure you have the latest update. Once you do that, logout of your account: Right Click Steam-->Settings-->Logout Once you do that, you might get some popup error, don't worry, click ok. Try opening Steam and logging back in now. If you cannot get login because you get a message about network problems or some sort, go to the next step. If you can login, try joining a game and if you can do it, great your fixed, if you can't, go to the next step. If you cannot log into the Steam network: First, make sure Steam is closed and not running. Now go into your Steam folder. By Default: C:\Program Files\Steam Now find the file ClientRegistry.blob and delete it. Right Click it-->Delete Now open Steam again, and it should Update Platform. Once that is done, login to your account and it should work, and you should also be able to join games again without getting the ticket error. I beleive it is your connection. There are times I slide around and I thknk it is the server/connection not the game. Maybe steam.You could try a different keyboard.I have had weapon sound effect lag. This was a system memory issue.You can try our Steam install guide.It is best to start from scratch with Steam sometimes.I use Win ME myself on all 10 of my computers. That is not the issue. I hear of just as many problems nowadays with XP as ME. The only difference I see is less blue screens for SOME people.You can reinstall ME if none of the above do not work. You will not loose anythjing. Just save your FA config.cfg, menus, sprites, maps.. Get the latest drivers on cdrom before this is done as well. The better prepared you are the easier getting up to speed is.Mac

Whatever Mod we decide to go to when the time comes. HL2 multiplayer, DOD, NS.It will have to have voice chat. That is what makes this online gaming special.

We are staying until we absolutely have to move on to something else.We do not know what the new HL2 multiplayer will be. That should come out with the release. What I can say is that the "moving on" will have voice chat.
