  1. This is a very interesting mod. Unfortunately it's REALLY short right now, but it's really fun nonetheless. This single player, fantasy styled mod has some backstory that isn't really fleshed out at the moment, and I can't remember it anyways. But, it centers around some woman who can use telekinesis. This is what makes this mod so cool. There are no weapons with which you defend yourself against the denizens of this universe, so you have to make use of your intellectual talents to survive. Using your telekinesis, you can pick up any random heavy objects lying around and then hurl them at your enemies, sorta like the gravity gun. But, unlike the gravity gun, you can pick up more than one object at a time before hurling them at something. This is where it really gets fun. I don't know if there's a limit to how much you can pick up, but I had 20 objects ready to throw at some hapless creature at one point. By the way, the objects that you pick up with your mind don't move around with you; they hover in one location. so be careful where you aim, because you may end up in your own crosshairs. If given time to make many more levels (there's only 4 and they're short ) this could be a great single player experience. If they decide to make this multiplayer... that would simply be ungodly fun You can get it off of fileplanet.

lol, for me as the "green" circle moves around, the purple ones dissapeared as the green one went over them, then randomly appeared again after they all dissapeared. That was awsome

Ok, I don't plan on using AA again for a long time. What's the point of being able to blow up a tank if you get swarmed by foot soldiers? Whenever I was an AA guy, I never got backup AT ALL. Here's a prime example: I'm one of the USMC, using the AA kit. the MEC had captured the middle beach flag, so I decided to go liberate it after calling for back up. I get to the flag, but no backup, so I call for it again. 5 MEC soldiers spawn at the same time, and I manage to somehow pick them all off one by one with my MP5, all the while calling for backup. IT NEVER CAME. I eventually got swarmed and consequentially executed just before I finished the flag capture. I am probably not going to use the AA kit for a while. The SRAW is a tad underpowered for my tastes. Shooting a tank with it upwards of 2 times is a bit much. I find that that C4 with the special forces kit works much better in that situation, at least for me. One final thing: MAKE THE SERVER AUTOSWITCH SOMEONE ELSE! I got autoswitched 3 times in one round. That gets VERY confusing. I'm surprised I have avoided team killing everything because of that.

I guess I'll try to be anti-armor more often. I mainly go medic so I live a lot longer than if I didn't, but sometimes I go engineer if something important needs repairs(like the mortars, radar, that sort of thing) But let me tell you something, it is just slight overkill to blow a person up with the rockets that you get as an AA guy. It's not necesary unless the guys in a vehicle. I just hope that they make the handgrenades do more damage to vehicles. I know that they're frag grenades, so they're not supposed to do damage to vehicles, but it would be nice to have SOME, no matter how limited, ability to damage armor untill an AA guy comes around. Also, do you guys know if there's going to be an anti-air kit in the final version? I find it more annoying to be constantly bombed into submission by incoming aircraft and mot being able to do a while lot of damage back to them, even when in a tank. I did, however, shoot down a couple attack helicopters with an ak-101 before
  5. Wow, that is one seriously fancy power switch there. The company's comments at the end of the description was hilarious But I hope everything works out well for you.
  6. <rant> For those of you who don't know, my computer is on a network at my house that has two other computers on it. I stick with my computer(It's vastly superior to the others and a heck of a lot less expensive to boot) But my brother, smart one that he is, hops between his virus infested computer and the family computer, which is beggining to get infected as well, downloading everything in sight. Because he hops between computers, even if I had admin rights, I can't effectively limit his bandwidth so the entire network doesn't get bogged down. While my computer is fairly secure, AVG free edition is awsome, some things seep through every once in a while. It's not that big of a deal because AVG picks them up automatically, but the notification pops up over anything that I may be doing at the time and if I click on it, minimizes whatever I was doing if it was a fullscreen application. It's a real pain, but it's worse when I'm playing a source game, like Half Life 2 or CSS, becasue if the game gets minimized, it locks up and I have to end it using Microsoft Task Manager. </rant> I'm not searching for a solution here, because none will come about untill my brother develops a brain and/or gets somewhat computer savvy. I mean the kid failed Computer Applications for crying out loud! This is just a rant to make those of you who don't deal with this 24/7 laugh and those of you who DO know your not alone

Alright, I absolutely love being a medic. I "Accidently" administered a difibulation on a non-incapacitated enemy sniper. Needless to say, he didn't make it. That was the funniest moment, except for when Gator, with me as his sole gunner/passenger, somehow made a transport chopper do a barrel roll WITHOUT CRASHING!!!!! It's mind boggling how that was even possible. Of course, my chopper piloting skills are starting to develope already as well... sort of. I can actually land a chopper somewhat correctly, meaning no damage during the landing, using the mouse and keyboard. Only once has the fricking chopper rolled on it's side and died for me, so I'm thinking that I'm starting to get the hang of it.
  8. Well, it's not too bad. It reminds me more of AA meets DoD. I really like how they did the medic kit though. It's fun running around the battlefield, healing and reving team mates while tossing a few grenades underneath an enemy tank. Driving the ground vehicles is a lot easier than I thought it might be, but I'm not touching the aircraft for a while. I have no clue as to how they're supposed to work, but I might be able to figure out the helicopter sooner or later. I used to have some black hawk flight sim that I managed to play using mouse and keyboard. As to whether or not I'm going to buy it, there are a few red flags making me hesitant to do so. At time spawn camping is rampant and extremely annoying. Every once in a while a team mate shows up as an enemy so I end up teamkilling them on accident. It can get annoying when the commander gives my squad a target and I'm the only one that heads there. other than that, it's halfway decent. Guns are accurate enough so you can hit the broad side of the barn, but you can't snipe terribly well without a sniper rifle. People go down in 4-5 shots, a reasonable number(unlike FA ). And the medic class is fun So that's my opinion, the opinion of the doubter. The demo hasn't truely converted me, but I might give BF2 a shot a while after it gets released.
  9. There are a few teamplay servers up that I've seen lately. I prefer the all out carnage of the free-for-alls, but the backup you can get on teamplay servers is very nice. And steveo, you'll get used to it pretty quick. After a while it becomes instincive. Just don't play for too long at a time or you might start twitching uncontrollably(j/k, but not really  ) This game is great for waking up, almost as good as taking a slug of pure caffine -Edit- Heh, so it WAS you earlier today on that server. I see my name in that picture. You must have taken it not too long after I joined. You *****ed the m4 then, not the m82
  10. the m82 isn't that major of a gun But I've played with a couple of Cobras lately, but none were using the m82, so I might have played with you or I might not.
  11. Zuljin replied to primesuspect's topic in Gaming
Oh, so in BF2 you have to shoot someone 20 times with a rifle before they die like in FA? Not so sure I want to get it then. That's what pisses me off about FA more than the brutally ineffective rushing aspects of it. I can pump a good 10-15 rounds into someone's back(these are hits mind you) and have them still kill me. btw, I had to redownload the BF2 demo, it was corrupt. it's pitifully slow right now, but it's late so I don't care. I'll just have to see how well it plays tomarrow.
  12. Anyone else play this Half Life mod? If you don't know what the crap I'm talking about, here's the rundown: Half Life deathmatch meets the Matrix/*insert John Woo movie here* What that means is that there are a crap load of bullets going off at any given time, bullet time (that actually works well ) and awsome acrobatic feats. In this game, guns DO affect your movement speed. You will not be moving fast at all if you take the m60 or the barrett(m82) and your acrobatics are severly inhibited. If you make like John Woo and go akimbo Berretas(a Berreta in each hand) then you will run circles around other people and have the full list of acrobatic abilities. You might be thinking, "what the crap are these 'acrobatic abilities' that he's raving about???" Well, there's the standard dive, roll and flips. But, there's the awsomely usefull(and sweet) ability to do the matrix jump, make like Neo and dodge bullets(in Slow Pause, a more effective slo-mo) and "running" along walls(you actually do a lateral wall jump up to three times). The best part is that if you kill someone during a stunt, you get extra points added to your score. In FA you get a small amount of weapon customization. Get the stealth skill and put a silencer on a few guns. In The Specialists, you get to attach a laser sight(tighter crosshairs but can give your position away), silencer(even on the Desert Eagle ), a scope, flashlight and maybe another, I can't remember. While some are less than useful, the flashlight that you can't turn off, the others are very useful. You can even use a Katana to slice and dice your foes or completely forsake all weapons and use the Kung-** systems to pummel your opponents. It's very fun to kick the head off of a Barrett user Just a word of warning however. For those of you used to the stratagy and relatively slow pace of FA, this is a nearly 180 degree turn from that. This is most definately a twitch reaction game. There is so much going on all at once that you can't think if you want to live more than 2 seconds at a time. Also, when you die, and this WILL be often, no matter how good you are, you get to rearrange your equipment if you feel so inclined and then respawn when your ready. This game is the rusher's dream, a very fresh turn from FA where it brutally punnishes the point-man, but this is mainly because it's a usually a free-for-all but some servers have teamplay on. If you get tired of getting pwned by people who like "guarding" dark corners(no offence to those who enjoy this), The Specialists is for you. The Specialists Website
  13. I just started downloading this. Hopefully I'll like it, but I've never plaed any of the BF games, so who knows.

Heh, nice skill video there of scratchy basald It really is funny to be accused of hacking when your not. Even *I* have been accused a few times But the funniest thing in CSS of all time is a bot that camps when they're set to only use knives. That is funny because they stare at you sitting in one place for a while if you dn't shoot them immediately.
  15. I thought you guys would like it
  16. here are some entirely pointless, yet very funny and sometimes very true, flash games. Realistic Internet Simulator -- "Kill The Pop-ups! kill them before they give your computer the blue screen of death!" That's the goal of this game. Pretty simple, but the background music will make you piss yourself laughing the first time you play it, but gets old after a while because it's a really short loop. Click the Color and Not the Word -- This is good if you ever feel like driving yourself insane, kinda like when you get an uncontrolled urge to mess with a rubix cube. What you have to do is what the name of the game. Click the button on the bottom of the screen that corresponds with the color of the word that shows, NOT the button that corresponds with the word itself. A simple game that your mind makes maddeningly difficult. Bunny Love Game -- Another game to drive you insane! A line goes from one end of the screen to the other in the shape of a bunny. You have to trace that with your mouse cursor all the way across without leaving the line. Like click the color, this is a simple game. Unlike click the color, your hand/eye coordination is what makes it difficult. Now, before you rush off to play them, here's a warning. These games are, I believe, meant to be stupidly funny. Don't get your hopes up that they're going to be the next *Insert your favorite game here*! So, if you lose a few brain cells, but at least you will hopefully get a few laughs out of it.

yeah, my school is in a similar position. were a couple million dollars in the red and instead of cutting our oh so craptacular football team, they're cutting programs that actually give our school a good name, like the band, a baaaad mistake seeing how it's pretty much the only thing that makes our school respectable. Of course, I'm a member of it (at least untill I graduate next week !!!!!!) so I'm biased towards it. But does your school block Google Images too? If they don't you can get to the web search from there, but it's not guarenteed to work.
  18. Zuljin replied to MrJimmy's topic in Main Hall
If you want to find good cgi proxies, google search "start using cgiproxy" You will find thousands of them but not all will work. Hopefully you'll find one that works. If you do, pray it doesn't get blocked as well If your school blocks google, try google images and then go to the web search from there. If your too lazy to do that, here's a good proxy you can use: http://surfeasy.info/ Have fun
  19. Now that I can see what you did it's kinda cool. A kinda pointless effect but cool nonetheless.
  20. Hmmm, KW. How good are you with Fractals? I've recently tried my hand with them but haven't really decided on a specific editor for them. So far I find the Gimp to be the easiest(which is also free :lies: ). What programs have you tried?
  21. omg the second one for roach is so freaking hilarious. Very good job there
  22. Zuljin replied to Zuljin's topic in Main Hall
yeah, photobucket will do that. That's why I went into photoshop and exported them as .png's, they're much smaller than .bmp's.

Just in case you guys need it, here's a website that has lots of free stuff on it. And I do mean LOTS! While I'm at it, here's another! I feel like Santa Claus with my big bag of free goodies for all the (I guess you qualify for at least somewhat) good little boys and girls!

I recently discovered a cool FREE( ) terrain generator aptly named Terragen. It's crazy how realistic they can get the images to look, even with only a few minutes of experience. Here's some things that I made about 20 minutes after using it: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v426/zorlentrivar/islandfar.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v426/zorlentrivar/islandclose.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v426/zorlentrivar/islandbay.png All of those are images of the same "render," for lack of a better word, and no extra editing was done outside of Terragen, besides converting them to .png's. you can get terragen here. Best part is that it's free! can't argue with free!

Hmmm, Seems like you guys are having fun with this. As I said earlier I might buy it later, but my experience with Asheron's Call 2, the free trial at least, wasn't stellar at all(this was a while ago when I was still using a P3 processor and a 9200 SE *shudders*)... If it is, as you claim, more like Diablo 2 than the loooooooong and boring grind of normal MMOs, then I think I'll get hooked. You guys know if there's a free trial for this so I can try it out first?
