  1. Because its Apple and they still think that that makes it worth 10 times what everything else costs. I was a huge Apple fan back in the day but that was when they had proprietary hardware that was superior to the x86 competition. There isn't much difference now yet they still think their stuff is far superior and bank on the fact that the average person just doesn't know any better. The only area they seem to excel in anymore is their OS's. They still kick the crap out of MS in that department and if it would run on a normal PC I would run it in a heartbeat especially with MS talking about making Windows subscription based yet again. When they did the comparison I had to laugh. there is a difference between a standard USB C cable and a Thunderbolt spec cable. If you are going to compare them you really have to go with the spec cables to get a fair comparison. Honestly 99% of people just want a charging cable and dont care about all the other functions the cable has. If you look at a standard Apple charging cable that comes with Phones and iPads its basically the same thing as the Amazon Basics USB C cable. The Thunderbolt is designed to transfer a LOT more than just charging power which is why you need to compare the sec cables and not a simple USB C cable.
  2. Sorry I have been MIA for the past week or so. Unfortunately my wife lost her battle with all the diseases she has fought for the past 20+ years and passed away on the 19th. It's been kinda surreal bumbling around our home and being the only one there except the dog. Now is the time to move on and get back to life. She will be missed but she wouldn't want any of us to mope around. She felt guilty enough because our daughter and I were forced to be there with her this past year and didn't really get to do anything. Anywho I should now be back in full force.
  3. So I watched the Netflix series last night, not normally a fan of anime style stuff but this was pretty good.
  4. That would be pretty awesome. I would suggest they look a little closer to home for a screenwriter though since one of the writers of the games story is also one of the guys from Steve jackson Games who developed Cyberpunk way back when. Thats kind of why I was disappointed in the buggyness of the initial release but then I realized that it was the coders and not the story guy. Hope this goes through as i think it would be a really neat theme for a show.
  5. I loaded up GR Wildlands and played it some this weekend but didn't get a lot of time to play. I was thinking about reloading CP to try it out and see if it was still as buggy as it was but glad to hear that they have fixed a lot of it. I will load it back up and give it a whirl. I played the old Jackson pen and paper version and was really excited about the video game so Im hoping that all the fixes bring it around.
  6. How are you liking it Larry? I've been following it and it looks pretty solid. I do wish it was more of a MMO type game but it looks pretty good. Not seeing anything other than some pretty egregious cheats to get ahead but hey its a single player game so if you want to cheat yourself by all means. Anything game breaking that hasn't been patched / nerfed into the ground yet? I'd consider playing it if it wouldn't melt my old ass computer into a slag heap. I had intended on having a new system built by now but with the wife in the state shes in and real life things that keep getting in the way of things alas it has not come to pass so I have been playing games vicariously via youtube hahaha.
  7. We lost two giants this weekend.... Jimmy Buffett: Gary Wright: Wonder who number three is gonna be?
  8. Not too bad but still, how long has this been in development? I mean you would think that given what they charge for games these days that there would be more in depth testing. I remember the days that playtester was a paid position and not something you relied on betas and early access to ferret out problems. The beta should be to put the final spitshine on it not to find game breaking bugs and face it, in a single player quest driven game bugs that are quest based pretty much stomp all over the game.
  9. Ok so yeah it's Tx. I'm gonna include some helpful tips for anyone wanting to be a criminal in states below the Mason Dixon line. 1) Don't assume no one is home even if they say they aren't especially if you look shady. Maybe we just dont want to talk to you for this exact reason. 2) Pretty much everyone is issued a gun of some sort at birth and trained to use it. 3) If you do decide to try and break in, make sure you have enough strength to do so. 4) Before trying to break in, get right with Jesus because if we are home there is a high probability you will be seeing him soon. 5) Our Grandparents / Parents taught us to never point a gun at anything we dont intend to kill. We learned that lesson well. I hope these tips serve you well. That said it was a pretty stupid thing to do to fire off a handgun in an apartment building even through a door. You can clearly see the rounds hitting the wall of the other apartment and I wouldn't mind shooting someone who was trying to break in to my home but if I harmed someone other than them I would be crushed. Always identify your target before shooting. It's good manners.
  10. Damn Straight! Mickey has been awesome for like forever! Belin aint bad either. Damn shame so many of the greats we love aren't doing it anymore or are have left us. I mean Jefferson .... just aint the same without Grace ya know? The dots are for whatever version you are listening to hahaha. If I am not mistaken, the only original member left in Starship these days is David Freiberg. That's sad but Starship like a lot of bands we love have had a revolving door when it comes to members such as Foreigner, they are currently on a farewell tour and either due to attrition, health issues, etc there isn't a single founding member in the band. Oh and those bastards at the Rock Hall STILL haven't inducted them yet Eminem got in last go round. WTF over!
  11. Back in the day, the reason I went BF instead of CoD was all the cheats that were rampant in CoD. At the time, BF had far fewer cheaters to ruin the fun but sadly both are full of them and the companies either dont listen to their customers about what they want in a game or push out broken unfinished products of sadly, both. Baldur's Gate 3 is getting a lot of praise right now because it is a polished game and worked as it should, I haven't heard of any bugs yet, right out of the box. Dev studios and publishers are all in an uproar because people praising the developers and making a big to do about the game and some are saying that this should be the standard of how a game is released. Well yeah it should be finished and work as intended right out of the box. We have to stop supporting half assed releases with promises to make it better in the future. with the costs of games almost doubling since the BF4 release and now IMHO we should be demanding that games just work when we get them.
  12. Ha! Let my video post flow like a raging river!
  13. The last iteration itself left us hanging IMHO.
  14. By all the gods can we hope that they have learned from the mistakes of the last two games? Please... It appears that at least one lesson was learned as they seem to be adding a single player campaign to this one. I always enjoyed those.... a lot. Next Battlefield Game Will Be a "Reimagination as Truly Connected Ecosystem," Says EA MP1ST.COM According to EA boss Andrew Wilson, the next Battlefield game will be a "reimagination as a truly connected ecosystem."
  15. That sucks. Leave it to Grade A Arseholes to do stupid shit like this.
  16. The Division: Heartland has registration for a beta / early access. Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland | Ubisoft WWW.UBISOFT.COM The Division Heartland is a free-to-play multiplayer survival-action shooter set in a fictional rural community in Middle America. Play as one of six trained Division agents from across the nation and answer the...
  17. No email but I logged in none the less. My Rocksmith games are Ubisoft products but with everything with the wife and my dad passing I just havent had the desire to play so it hasn't been used in a while. I really should start playing at least once or twice a week. Music relaxes me and I get a fair amount of joy playing. Maybe I wouldn't be such a cranky bastard if i did hahaha.
  18. Yep this was in 2003 and SWBF hit in 2015. This is the game where Sony lost the rights to make SW games because of one patch. People loved this game as a MMO and there were always tons of players. I recall Empire vs Rebel Alliance PvP battles unlike any I had seen in previous MMOs. Entire cities would light off. It was as close as I have felt to actually being in a movie while playing a SW game. I played a smuggler, there were no jedi at the time and smugglers couls slice (improve) armor and weapons, who was a highly trained teras kasi master. It was a blast wading in to battle using melee weapons and blaster pistols. My main weapons were a vibro axe (polearm) and a DL-44 heavy blaster (Han Solo's blaster). Both were heavily modified. I used Mandalorian Armor that was modified and enhanced with weapon bonuses because it was very resistant to energy weapons. in this game you had three health bars, Health, Action, and Mind. Medics and stimpacks could heal health otherwise the regen on it was painfully slow.Hanging out in a cantina with dancers could help speed the regen on it as well when out of combat. Commanders / Officers helped with the action regen but it was pretty quick. If your action bar didnt have enough points to perform an action it would just cancel the action so you had to be really mindful of it in combat. Mind was the big one though, it had a medium regen and only time could heal it. it could be boosted with enhancements but it was a pretty limited pool. When you took damage it would effect one, two, or all of your HAM bars. It was a really awesome combat system as I dont think there was any weapon I ever saw that would one shot anyone so combat was protracted and required skill and strategy. Unfortunately Sony decided to redo the entire UI and replace it with the EQ2 style interface which made a lot of the things you needed to do painfully tedious and people left in droves. Funny thing is that the interface worked really well in EQ2 but absolutely blowed chunks in SWG. If you do look at this get a server that is pre CU which will use the old interface. You can use any version of the game as the server tells the game which interface to use. Also, the game is available on amazon or ebay but if you dont want to purchase it you can get it from myabandonware.com but I would scan the files before running them. i still have my old install cds so I'm good.
  19. So I have said many times how much I enjoyed the MMO Star Wars Galaxies before Sony released the NGE patch that tried to turn it into Everquest in space. I came across this article the other day and I was kind of blown away at how many private servers there are for this game. In the past there have been servers created for games like Ultima Online and other games that were quite good. Since Sony has shut down official servers they really haven't had anything to say about these servers and they have added content and even allow you to choose which era of the game you want to play in ie pre or post NGE patch. If you have the instal media or "acquire" it from other places you can load it up and play it just like you could when it was brand new with even more content. Think I may load this up and give it a whirl. i really loved the game when it came out and enjoyed it immensely. If i do I will give everyone a heads up and let ya know if its as good as it sounds. https://mmofolklorist.com/2022/07/25/the-complete-list-of-star-wars-galaxies-rogue-servers-2022/
