Company Builds Powerful 500cc ‘One-Stroke’ Engine, Immediately Installs It in a Miata
That's pretty sick. 500 CCs and 120HP is respectable. I bet that thing can rev to the moon and back. I fully expect some company to buy the patent and immediately bury it.

Microsoft gets more time from UK to plead case to buy video game maker Activision
Am i missing something here? MS and Activision are US based and owned companies, so exactly what the F does GB have to say if one can buy the other? Oh how I miss the days when we would tell them to get bent and as long as it is ok in the US they really dont have a say in it.

Microsoft agrees to keep Call of Duty on Sony Playstation after it buys Activision Blizzard
Of course they will. MS didn't become a tech giant by not accepting wheelbarrow loads of cash. it would be incredibly stupid to cut out the PS guys in the future. IMHO I dont see why all games aren't Console and PC. i get that there are costs to creating ports from one to the other but I think it would A) make developers and publishers create better games with more solid codebases and B) give all gamers more options with better games. The only downside I could possibly see would be the small indie game creators would be limited to one aspect of the gaming industry but if the game became successful that would open the door to porting it to the other platform it would just take longer. The real issue is not really the development, it's the publishers pushing unfinished or buggy products out the door prematurely in order to get a product out at some specific time to make the investors scoresheet look better, which it rarely does because of the end user backlash and lost sales because of that. I love BF but as it stands I haven't played much BF5 and no BF2042. I have played BF3 and 4 however after all this time.

Disney+'s Firefly: Every Character We Expect to See in the Revival
Yeah.... Its too late to pick this back up. The actors are far older to do anything that would take place between the show and the movie to be anywhere near cohesive. A reboot could be interesting but as they said in the article, Disney has been tending to bend to the whole inclusiveness thing and honestly IMHO it would take away something to change the core of the characters via religion, sexuality, etc. Its probably best to leave those character traits in tact and if they wanted to go that route simply use race and or species to do that. I have no idea why they felt the need to go into the issues Joss Whedon has been dealing with in the article but for any reason other than to add a bit of smear to him. Ok so Joss became famous and used it to obtain girlfriends and have copious amounts of sex. Yeah that kind of comes along with fame. I dont condone him cheating on his wife but reading over a lot of the allegations that have come out against him, most of them reak of sour milk. Oh no, he fired me after we had sex or he called me fat after I got pregnant. Lets face it, He may not be a nice guy to work for and even less nice to have a relationship with but he's being shunned in Hollywood for stuff that just happens to regular folks. You move on with your life and grow from it but of course in Hollywood it's not that simple you need to try your best to ruin someone because they were mean to you. With what's been reported in a lot of cases they really dont have much to complain about. My suggestion is just grow the F up. A lot of folks have had to endure so much more than getting broken up with the day before their birthday so deal. Sorry I dont have a lot of patients with whiney people who dont have a lot to complain about, however I digress. Now that I have that out of my system, maybe it will be good I just dont see it as resonating with the fanbase at large and i see it suffering the same fate as the original show.

Good Stuff on Netflix
Just a heads up for you guys. Over the long weekend I watched two pretty damned good mini series on the ole Netflix. The first was a western called Godless. Pretty solid western with a twist. The other was called Frontier. Jason Momoa plays in the starring role. I really enjoyed both of them and think you guys would as well.

The Witcher S3 (Netflix)
Ahh the end of a great show. i say the end because Cavill is a great... GREAT, do you hear me, actor and as a gamer wants to keep the show true to it's cannon and the head writer is a d-bag twit who thinks their version is somehow better than what was originally created so Henry is leaving for the Warhammer show that he will have a lot more creative control over. Netflix will soon see what giving in to primadonna writers will cost because the show will crash and burn. It should be evident based on the complete piece of trash Blood Origin was. I really wanted that to be good but yeah it was just horrible. Liam Hemsworth while a decent actor isn't his brother and for damn sure isn't Cavill. IMHO Cavill IS Geralt and if not number one, a real close number two Superman. I'm gonna miss The Witcher when it inevitably crashes and burns into a soldering heap.

Toyota Touts Solid State EVs With 932-Mile Range, 10-Minute Charging by 2027
Followup!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kcohq313q00 The Amazon folks have apparently never heard of Louis. He's like one of the lead voices in the Right to Repair movement and has no problem filing lawsuits. He's pretty good at it actually.

Toyota Touts Solid State EVs With 932-Mile Range, 10-Minute Charging by 2027
If they do it they will decimate the entire auto industry. Currently 350 to 400 is the publicized max range on an EV, which is under optimal driving conditions with no traffic, with Lucid "saying" they can go 516 miles but it's doubtful. I'm an old gearhead for sure and enjoy motorsports but if they could get 900 plus miles per charge with that kind of recharge rate to a full charge, I'd get in line for one tomorrow. Range and recharge time is truly the only things that has kept me from getting one as a daily driver to this point. Now if they could do it in a vehicle that has a sporty appearance and isn't throttled down so much that it's like a first gen Prius then hoo boy I'm there. The only things I would have to worry about at that point was battery life and what kind of requirements for uplink they have. I dont like having essential infrastructure or vehicles relying on a cloud based company server that controls my access to things. Check out this video and you will see why. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyEgD-5GK9c&t=1s

Andor Season 2 Release Date Month Revealed As Showrunner Gives Timeline Update
Awesome! I was hoping they would delve deeper. This has been one of the better Star Wars tales they have put out. While I wish they could produce these seasons quicker it pays off in the end as they are more polished and feel more finished. I loved The Walking Dead from episode one but a lot of the seasons and heck even a good many of the episodes just seemed half baked or unfinished. Now it's done with little to no resolution, no reason given why the new spinoffs are taking place, and no real answers. IMHO it's simply because it became so popular that the actors were in a position to demand far higher salaries and AMC decided that they would rather keep the truckloads of cash instead of paying the people who made the show what it was. Honestly all the Star Wars series shows have done a great job in fleshing out the SW world and its lore so far as did the Star Wars Stories, yes including Solo which really wasn't as bad as a lot of people made it out to be. Granted its not Citizen Kane but it's entertaining and does add some back story to Han's life. It's kinda sad that there are only two episodes left of Mando in this run and honestly I was really hoping to get more Obi Wan. I have to say that out of all the main story arc characters it's pretty much a tie as to my favorite between Vader and Obi Wan

This Makes Hacking TOO Easy - Flipper Zero
Linus did a great job of showing that this thing isn't the Satan spawn a lot of places are making it out to be. Heck, I'd be interested in one for no other reason than testing security on wireless systems.

SSDs are getting more reliable, and we have the numbers to prove it
I'll be straight up with ya, when it came to business systems I was really hesitant to move to SSDs, especially in servers. The fact that every time you write to it and delete you lose a little of the life of the drive really bugged me out. I mean yeah they are much faster but the old mechanical spinning disks you use for enterprise level stuff just worked until they didn't. Now, after years of working with them I have jumped on board and will use them but man that was like pulling chicken teeth at first. Edit Ok so after looking at their data I saw that 1) they are only using them as boot/OS drives and not storage drives for which they still rely on the good ole spinning disk drives. and 2) a lot of the drives they listed are limited usage drives compared to the rest. While decent info it seems a tad limited. I'd like to see some numbers when they go to SSDs in storage arrays. Those are the ones that get the workout not the OS drives.

So after seeing the Reddit link up top....
I decided oh hell naw! im outta here! Hahaha just kidding. Not getting rid of me that easily. I was looking at Starfield and it looks pretty neat. Im wondering if the console version and PC version will have cross platform play though. I dont see that info anywhere and honestly I've made my opinion of that abundantly known. Aim assist in any fashion does not belong in a PC game unless its global to everyone. Want to see some kill streaks? Give me a legal aim assist and a mouse and watch the carnage. I get that controller folks are supposed to be at a disadvantage but have you actually seen a teenager or a twenty something with a controller? They use those thing far better than my old ass uses a mouse so yeah spread the love guys. Anyway it looks cool and I might have to pick it up. You guys will have to fly though if the flight controls are anything over arcade style because just damn I couldn't exit the hangar in the other games hahaha. Edit Just saw on Steam that its single player. I now haz a sad....
