The CW is cancelling Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman
The CW is still a thing? I may have to check out these. Never saw any ads for them or CW for that matter so yeah but if Larry likes LoT then I'm sure I will as well. Our nerds are of a similar viewing vein.

Microsoft Is Adding a Free VPN to the Edge Browser
Uhhh yeah... no. Edit Let me clarify, while Cloudflare is a decent group and I really dig their speed test, as it registers jitter and none of the other major ones do, I am not funneling any private or professional data through M$'s greedy hands. At best they use it for targeting ads, at worst who knows. If you feel you need a VPN, at least professionally, you should purchase the hardware and infrastructure to establish your own private point to point VPN. Its far more secure than any publicly offered solution. If you dont have the staff to accomplish this find a reputable MSP to set this up for you and manage it. Its well worth it in the end. This concludes my Monday morning PSA.

Drivers dont mean a lot when you can't reliably supply graphics cards to consumers.

Ubisoft Shuts Down Multiplayer, Online Services for 90 Games
They are prepping for the new online service they are rolling out and without significant changes to the games they cant connect to it. The new version of Rocksmith, Rocksmith+, will be totally online dependant and if you dont have internet... you can't use it. Needless to say not having an offline mode is not popular with 99.9% of the Rocksmith community and honestly a LOT of people will simply not use it and continue to use RS 2014 Remastered, which is the current version. Hell, I still have the original installed as there are certain things it does I like better than the current one. I was in the beta for the new version, which is due to be released soon, and the online component cause a lot of lagginess which is not conducive to playing music. They are also making it a service. Instead of buying the game and DLC Content, they will charge the standard $15.00 a month but there will not be DLC and you have access to the entire catalog of music. This is good in a way however, if they decide to pull the plug on the game you lose everything. This will also preclude any custom DLC content from being used so any bands / artists that they can't get to sign on you will never see any music from them. It's kind of that way in the current version but there is a Custom DLC community that produces the files for the songs that you just can't get as DLC and the catalog is HUGE. A lot of it is newer or foreign music / groups but there are also files for the groups that will not allow their music to be used such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc. Currently i have around 1700 songs in the current version and can play everything from classical adaptations, country, metal, all the way to old school rap music. I have to say that the "game" has been more of a teaching tool to me as i never took a lesson but, much like the game states, I have learned to play bass pretty damned well using it. They were making changes to the game since the beta based on user input and rumor is they have added keyboards to it. Added to lead, rhythm, and bass guitar, if this is true I will more than likely get a subscription as I would really like to learn keyboards/piano but I really am sad the new version does not support offline playing and downloadable DLCs as this will severely reduce the amount of selection and possibly hamper the gameplay.

Moon Knight... Opinions?
I've been watching this and while it's entertaining, Im not sure the 6 episode special is even close to doing this character justice. Oscar Issacs does a great job switching between the personalities and his ability to switch accents on the fly amazes me. The story is so much more in depth than they are covering and it just seems like such a waste of a really unique character. I'm hoping they do more than the 6 episodes but we see how short The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was and I havent heard anything about a next set of episodes for that one either. It was really good save that Bucky is supposed to be the next Cap by cannon. That said a lot of stuff was changed for the movies, things like Tony Stark died the the Endgame movie when he didn't in the comics. He became the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Bucky was captured after stealing Caps shield to keep Tony from appointing someone else but Tony reveals that Steve had given him a letter asking that Tony watch over Bucky and then Tony flips the whole deal and suggests that Bucky be Steve's replacement as Cap. Sam doesn't become Cap until comics in the later 2000's after Marvel does a LOT of storyline rewrites after Stan was out of the picture. Yeah comic nerd as well hahahaha.

So I'm doing a thing...
So I did actually free up a couple of hours to play last night. Imagine Minecraft with better graphics. Essentially thats what it is. Entertaining enough but not sure its something Im gonna invest a whole lot of time in. I really like Minecraft, on modded servers, but I always run into the ok what now syndrome. Last time I played it I had experience with all the mods and in a couple of days I had set up a fully automated factory to harvest resources, store them, and stock a player vendor / shop on the server I played on. At that point I had no job but to get filthy rich, give away my base and everything in it to a new player and quit playing for a while. I'm really starting to miss the big open world MMOs like WoW and such but I really dislike the way WoW has taken the game. Started going downhill for me just after Lich King and died unceremoniously with the introduction of the Panda player characters. I mean I started calling it Kung Fu Panda Online at that point.

So I'm doing a thing...
It is but it adds in a good bit of first person shooter and crafting as well. I went to play last night but got sidetracked with playing music and well next thing I know it was a quarter to 12 so I kinda didn't get there hahaha. Gonna try again tonight lol.

So I'm doing a thing...
I was looking at my steam library last night and realized there are games in there that I haven't played in years or ever played for whatever reason. That just seems like a waste to me so I decided to load them up one at a time and give them another go. Some of them were / are early access games that were probably really buggy or had other issues but Im curious as to the state of them now. I decided to start with 7 Days to Die and loaded it up. It seems like its been getting regular updates and has a decent score on Steam so I'll give it another whirl. I will update everyone on it once I get some decent play time on it. Finding new music via other artists...
While his music has gone downhill since he became all political, Kid Rock did allow me to find these guys. Very reminiscent of Molly Hatchet and other old southern rock bands. Canadian band who is more southern rock than anyone out there today, go figure. Enjoy!

The Black Tape Project
Is there anything you can't use electrical tape for? It's the new duct tape! That said, I really want to see how many times these girls punch these dudes when its removal time. Edit Someplace there is a below average strip club thats having a bad night.

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter!
Here's hoping you all had a Happy Easter. For me it was spring yard reclamation weekend. First cut, unwanted tree / bush removal, etc. I probably could have cut sooner but I like to leave the clover and dandelions for as long as possible in the spring for the bees to have something to eat on until all the other flowers start blooming. Gotta take care of the bees so we dont all die from starvation and with all the agricultural spraying they do it's tough on the little critters. Anywho hope you all had a great weekend.

- 5 Reasons Unreal Engine 5 is a BIG DEAL
PUBG uses Unreal 4 and it just works. I would be really interested to see what they could do in U5. That said I cant wait till we start seeing games with this engine as its base.- 5 Reasons Unreal Engine 5 is a BIG DEAL
The main reason it's a big deal is Unreal Engine is fairly simple to integrate and use where as complex engines, such as Frostbyte, are far more apt to flaws in programming such as hovercraft climbing skyscrapers. Granted if game companies would hire maniacs as testers or you know have a decent beta anymore a lot of these things would be caught before launch. IMHO game companies have lost the drive to produce good games and have focused on the lack of attention span that the gaming community seems to have in abundance now. As the focus has shifted away from PC gaming and settled on console gaming the mindset of the end user has changed. Console gamers aren't looking for that game they can play for years and are focused on the new shiny thing coming out next month and if the game they bought, or more frequently their parents bought, doesn't work right or has flaws it gets relegated to the pile of games that aren't played anymore and forgotten. PC gamers are a different ilk but the developers have adopted the same attitude with PC games as console games. I mean look at Battlefield. In the earlier titles if there was something broken it was worked on and patched whereas in the last two it's pretty much been lip service to keep from getting sued into oblivion. BF4 was horribad when it released but they put in the hours and the game is in my opinion one of the best ones they have put out in the end but sadly it looks like it will be among the high point games in the franchise as it just keeps getting worse each iteration. Publishers are not making things any better with the constant rushing out games to meet deadlines and not when the game is in a good place to publish but i can understand their end more as its all about ROI to them. No matter what the engine, dev team, or publisher, games will not improve until passionate gamers are running the companies again and pushing out products THEY want to play, not MBAs pushing to get the "Next Big Thing™" out the door. /rant- Pink Floyd - Hey Hey Rise Up (feat. Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Boombox)
Pretty cool stuff. Nothing like an armed conflict to inspire great music. While my conflict didn't inspire the way Nam did at least we got Queensryche Empire during that time so there is that. edit Gilmore is still a huge tool but damn can he shred a guit-fiddle.- TNG Cast RETURN! - Star Trek: Picard SEASON 3 Details!
Sad that it's ending, or planned to end, in season 3. Curious if they are gonna have Lore. That would be a cool plot device.- Couple Builds Shipping Container Home with no Experience
- Battlefield Friends 2042 We're Leaving
While it's still in development I have had a lot of fun in DeadSide. It's much more of a tactical shooter but still fun. My main issue with it at the moment is there is no prone which does impede your ability to do "The Sneak™". Updates are frequent but since it's not really "modded" you just have to load the patch. Of course DayZ is fun, as it's basically ARMA with Zombies, but the controls are insane. Pretty sure they had a design doc that said "Use ALL the buttons!" I would have loved them to cut down on some of the keys and to name the options better so that when you do edit the keybinds you know exactly what that option is. The big upside to DayZ is the modding community which have added a lot of stuff to the game including weapons not in the core game. The big downside is.. the modding community, the downside is that every time there is an update you basically have to repatch the mods. Depending on the server and how modded it is that can take a bit. The downside to both of these is that whenever big patches come down, it usually requires a server wipe so anything you have collected, gathered, built is gone. I haven't really found a MMO that strikes my fancy. I was having a pretty good time in New World but after lvl 60 there was really nothing to do except grind resources and craft. I made a pretty good bit of cash but was just not fun. Dunno gaming has kinda gone stale for me and Im just not a console guy. I did get up with Bohica recently and may try out Rust with him. My only issue with Rust is it can get a bit toxic. We'll see, it could allow me to foster my inner a-hole. Hahahaha- Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 1 Official Trailer
Gotta say I would have enjoyed seeing Quinto reprise Spock to kinda tie all the different worlds together like they did with Nimoy in the reboots, which I have to say as much as I dislike reboots in general I did enjoy those immensely. I'm also glad that they have Una as first officer. In the reboots Pike's first officer was Spock and that just seemed wrong but I am not sure of the dates involved so it could be accurate. I've been a ST nerd longer than a SW nerd but haven't delved into it as deeply as Star Wars because well, it's Star Wars haha.- Battlefield Friends 2042 We're Leaving
Yeah. When BFFs starts talking shit about your game it's a safe bet its done. I drank the KoolAid and bought it outright and still hold some hope that, like BF4, they can turn it around but thats just the fanboy in me. In reality I know its dead and gone and that they will devote a small amount of resources to it but overall we have what we're gonna get. Hell I believed "SOON™" for the longest. On the bright side BF 3/4 still work and play great.- Obi-Wan Kenobi | Announcement | Disney+
