  1. It's been a long journey with these two. Good for them. I've actually thought about getting a couple of these containers and putting them on stilts down on our creek property and building a hunting and fishing "cabin" with them. We have tons of old tobacco barns around that are falling apart and old barn siding thats been planed down make awesome shiplap indoor wall coverings and the old oak tongue and groove flooring in a lot of the old houses around here is also readily available. Doing most of the work myself I could be in it for 35k -45k for a damn nice retreat cabin. Of course that would rely on me actually doing it and honestly since i spent the weekend lying on a heating pad because of my back I doubt I would right now. This getting old shit is for the birds.
  2. Wondering if it will affect the bundle price I got ... I still have like 5 months on the year price I locked in. It's the mouse, so I expect to get the old so sorry pay me .. damn you! EDIT Guess I should read first hahah I just have Hulu with Disney + so I'm safe. No way I'd pay 70 bucks a month for that. This coming from the guy spending 250+ on cable but I do have jammin internet for my area so I'm using that as an excuse haha.
  3. Looks like the gangs all getting back together. Two more days and my cheap old ass will get to come and be fragged with the rest of you old farts. Can't wait.
  4. All loaded up and waiting for the official release. Yeah I cheaped out and got the standard version. I've gotten burned on the last two releases so I'll get any expansions when they come out. It didn't make any sense to me to spend the extra dollars to buy expansions for a game i am not 100% sure I will still be playing when they release. My whole outlook on this release pretty much hinges on portal being as awesome as i have heard it was. In BF3, 4, Hardline, and to some extent BF1 the offline content / campaign was worth the cost of the base game alone but sadly DICE decided this should be eliminated. Strike one. Removal of the class system in the game was strike two for me so this release is already of shakey ground for me but from everything I've seen Portal could be the saving grace. I mean honestly the first thing I usually do is fire up a custom game and let it rip but recently that has been pretty impossible so here's hoping for the best. /cranky old bastard
  5. Big daddy pulled the trigger on 2042 moments ago. Will get her loaded up tonight. Cya on the BF.

    Welcome aboard!
  7. Now if they would do something about hate reporting mobs they might make some progress. I dont really pay attention to the likes/dislikes but the idiots who organize mass reporting of content they dont like has gotta end. I mean if you dont like or disagree with something it's quite simple to just not watch it. Its pretty evident from the first minute or so of a video if it's your cup of tea and whatnot.
  8. I love streaming, what I kinda hate with a passion is that every damned channel on the planet now wants to have a paid service to suck a little more cash out of your pocket. I get that they are in the business to make money but when you add it all up if I were to subscribe to the paid service for every channel I watch then I would exceed what I pay for cable. I also get torqued with the ones who put up the streaming services and ask you to pay for them but you still have to deal with commercials but if you pay x amount more a month we can cut out the commercials. If I'm subbing to your channel and paying to watch something I dont want any commercials. Knowing that they are charging them to play them and you to watch them it gets under my skin. I know cable does this but with cable you are paying to access the teir not the content as once you get cable you can watch anything on there at no extra charge. I dunno call me old school I just get irate about companies trying to nickel and dime me to death. Don't get me wrong I have a whole other list of gripes about cable TV in general, chief among them the fact that the see fit to arbitrarily up the cost of the service when the wind blows a certain direction. Honestly if my wife was capable of using a streaming service I would have cut that cord long ago however I would like some peace in the evenings and she would be in there every twenty minutes asking me how to do this or that in perpetuity. She is a very smart lady until electrons flow within a device and then she is lost as a fart in a whirlwind. I still get questions about her cell phone 3 yrs after she got it. She just doesn't grasp the whole smartphone thing.
  9. Anxiously counting down. I have a guilty confession to make. Boba Fett has always been one of my favorite parts of Star Wars. For a character who doesn't really say anything it's been amazing how much people like Boba. Total badass.
  10. As much as I hate the whole pay services becoming the norm I have to say they are bankrolling some pretty decent stuff. Back when I first saw Star Wars in the theater, yeah I'm old shut up and get off my grass, I would never have imagined a time when I would be able to sit down and pull up that movie on demand or even a series based on that movie. Guess every cloud has a silver lining.
  11. I have to say this has made me much more excited about BF2142! I wish you could create a server and let it stay but TBH since anyone with access to the ruleset can launch the exact same server I see the logic in not having the server just sit there empty. While I've never been a big fan of bots in shooter games I think it's pretty awesome you can set the bots as dynamic and have them despawn as players get on the server and will keep you from having the servers we had in BF1 and 5 that sit there waiting for enough players to launch. I'm all giddy and rather looking forward to this now.
  12. I saw that the other day. Looks like it will go 40 something mph. Im sure my fat ass would put the brakes on it hahaha.
  13. I don't know if it's just me having only watched videos but a couple of things stand out when I watch these videos: 1) The robot dog seems to be a damned laser. those things look OP as hell. They appear to need a drastic tone down unless the accuracy of them isn't nearly as good as it seems. 2) It seems that everyone pretty much has access to only a very limited selection of guns. I'm hoping that the selection is far larger and is unlocked as you play. 3) Not sure how I like the whole on the fly modification thing. By that I kind of like being able to swap out scopes / sights but having the ability to fully modify a weapon "in the field" isn't a thing and not sure it should be even if this isn't a sim. 4) Removal of the class system pretty much destroys what little bit of team roles that have been in BF for decades. I mean if you want to allow me to run a sniper build and equip an ammo box then far be it from me to argue but that will remove any reason to accurately place shots and not just spam long range shots. 5) From what I saw scope glint has become a neon sign. TBH you may as well make the entire skin fluorescent hot pink, put a flashing arrow over the snipers position, and increase the player model by like 20%. I know BF isnt a battle sim like ARMA but I do enjoy trying to play it with a bit of tactics and yes while sniping stealth. These changes from what I've seen do their damnedest to try and remove that from the game. I know COD is hugely popular, but I get the feeling that DICE is kinda phoning it in with this one and doing its best to clone COD as much as they can without getting slapped with a lawsuit. BF has always been a different kind of beast and it's what made it popular. I mean a lot of folks chose BF based on the fact it wasnt COD and was different. I know this group got its start as a COD clan so maybe I'm in the severe minority here but the more I see of 2042 the less I feel inclined to plop down the dollars for it. I mean if I wanted this kind of gameplay I would have simply bought COD and been playing it all along. Hell at least in Warzone I had to call in a loadout crate to change mid game or pick up a different weapon in 2042 I just press the magic T key. Yes, I'm old and grumpy and dont like people messing with good things simply because they can.
  14. Just to mirror what a lot of folks have said I am really disappointed that they have trended toward the CoD type player character / gameplay and all but abandoned the classes we are all so used to. If it doesn't change between now and launch, which it probably wont, I will probably still play but not be as active. Don't get me wrong I will have a blast sniping and being able to throw down an ammo crate to juice back up but part of the fun and skill when using a class such as a sniper is to judge your shots and make the most out of what ammo you have. I dont know man it just seems like DICE has lost a little something.
  15. If you didn't follow the link in the article this is a good overview of DDR5 RAMs feature set. https://www.msi.com/blog/all-you-need-to-know-about-ddr5-memory-modules?
  16. Guess the new rig is gonna take a back seat again. I mean hell you can barely get GPUs and when you can they have been marked up a good deal, now RAM. At least I can get a decent SSD at a good price still, knock wood. It getting cheaper to buy musical instruments, when you can get them, and to work on old cars than to build a damned computer. Oh yeah... Get off my damned grass you whippersnappers! shakes cane over head
  17. I'm waiting for the episode when they shoot her out in an escape pod and when they find her and open it she's a zombie and eats their face. :stirs the pot a little more:
  18. From what I've seen at 108p it outdoes the current Nvidia products of that level but while its capable of higher the performance dies off pretty quickly. I'm old and dont really get into the golly gee whiz top end graphics any more mainly because my old eyes cant really tell the difference lol. Most of what I play anymore doesn't require an awesome GPU or is something like BF that I'm gonna turn the graphics way down in anyway. I've been playing BF4 on the 1650 and have it turned waaaaaay down just to eliminate some of the "clutter" but you guys already know all about that.
  19. This will be great methinks. If you like music documentaries check out the coda collection. has a lot of docs and concerts on there. Good stuff.
  20. They also just stealth pushed a new video card as well. https://www.gsmarena.com/amd_releases_radeon_rx_6600_graphics_card_for_329-news-51415.php AMD has been killing it for the past few yrs. Glad to see em make a comeback. Back in the day they were by far my favorite proc.
  21. Gaming has evolved! TBH I always loved playing Quake baked but that is a story for another day.
  22. I gotta say the graphics in this version look great. I decided to give the beta a pass simply because it was one map and I didn't want to spoil it. I plan on getting it oh release and ever since BF1 I've done the beta and by the time release was here I was kind of burned out on the maps included in the beta. One thing I've noticed watching the beta play and in these videos BF4 does ground deformation much better. Using C4 to create a "foxhole" or a depressed sniper position has always been great in BF4. I hope they can tweak the deformation some in 2042 as that is a definite plus. All that said anyone who runs with the graphics turned up like that is gonna get decimated by the average FPS player with the graphics turned way down for performance gains.
  23. Yeah seeing as all the computers I use on even a semi daily basis dont fall into the acceptable processor to even be able to run Win 11, I'm pretty sure I will be bypassing this OS version. What is it with MS that every other OS version is a steaming load?
