  1. All these networks are trying to force me to subscribe. I am seriously considering dumping everything but my internet and boosting my speed there and just subbing to the network+ packages out there. Need to see what my end result would be first. Damned cable company is bleeding me dry.
  2. MS OneDrive is good as is Google Drive. I store my CDLC files for Rocksmith that I created there, Google Drive, as a host so that others can DL them from Customs Forge. Its secure and no one can download anything unless you specifically give them rights to download or you set it public. I use OneDrive for work stuff as you get a business OneDrive with your Office 365 sub.
  3. I wouldn't say IT staff per se hahaha. The guy that was/is here really doesn't have a clue and it's really not his fault. He went to the local tech school for administration but after talking to him I seriously need to talk to the folks I know there about some changes that need to be made over there asap. He was never exposed to a Windows domain based network at all and only got basic workstation break/fix exp. He actually told me that a good portion of his time in the Tech related courses was spent making cables.... <mind blown> As soon as the mountain of equipment I have ordered gets here We are gonna have what I like to refer to as instructional time. I'm gonna make him strawng! https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/4b7d92aa-521c-4781-8701-8e5200eede4a
  4. Do we get to stage a revolt and occupy the capital if we lose? /too soon?
  5. Ha! Yessir. I was amazed at the NAS. A removable HD on the laptop lol. Was able to talk with the guy that's been here a while and he didn't set this up and has his AS degree from the local tech school and I asked him what kind of Windows domain exp and or Windows server exp he had. None. He said what he did most of his time there was make cables and troubleshoot wiring. Time to put on my mentoring boots.
  6. Judging by all the gas giants with rings it looks like the home system is in direct line of fire from a LOT of meteors!
  7. Yeah there are a few but honestly they really could get by with just standalone PCs until recently. They started planning to do a lot of things that will require security audits and a lot more advanced things. Most of the property management end is on hosted systems so there wasn't really a need but when I walked in the "server" room I almost crapped myself. I had heard of the mythical "laptop based portable server" before but had not actually seen one til then hahaha.
  8. So I went ahead and grabbed this last week. Now to get it installed and give it a whirl since I have sooooooo much free time lol.
  9. Barracuda device is on the bench behind me being configured now
  10. Cool, I'll give it a looksee. On a positive note my new domain equipment here at the office has started coming in. It was kind of a shock to walk into the job and see no domain in a business this complex. 3 or 4 companies in multiple states and the main office has workstations with Win10 Home on them and no domain. Storage is an external drive attached to a laptop at two locations, Backed up using Carbonite. No DCs, Print servers, or RAID storage. I kinda lost my breath. They told me they were going to start doing certain things that required them have people's personal information, One of the businesses is property management for their apt buildings, and I was like ... No you aren't. After explaining the requirements that HIPAA and PCI Compliance have, they understood just how much it would cost them per violation and I got to plan the new domain and all the security needed. Not a huge network like I'm used to but I will be able to nail it shut pretty tightly quickly and easily.
  11. I do something similar using a third party software that runs a script on shutdown that copies all files from my Rocksmith DLC / CDLC folder to an external drive just in case as I have around 2300 songs in there and no list of which ones are there so if it were to crash it would be a monumental task to recreate that library. I also have sheet music there and tabs for playing offline as well. All of my MP3s are stored on this external drive as well and are synced on shutdown as well. Backups are a good thing folks.
  12. Ya know I commend them for doing everything by themselves but at this point I think I would hit up some help at the Lowes or Home Depot day laborer pools and get it finished up. They have been there two years and are getting ready for kid number two. Bout time to get it knocked out IMHO. Yeah I'm old... call it wisdom.
  13. This is why I stick to playing music and working on old cars and other stuff. It's impossible to not be happy when doing stuff ya love. I hope BF6 is spot on cause I miss gaming with the guys and nothing has really struck me once I got into it. Had high hopes for Cyberpunk but it just doesn't have the "feel" ya know.
  14. The make great trailers just like DICE. Lets see if either one of them can pull off a great game this yr. Between all the CoD Cheaters and DICE being, well DICE, the last two games i'm leary t say the least.
  15. There has been a good bit of Apple hate on Facebook recently due to the iWatch including diversity and equality themed watch face skins. Apparently they have issues with these being pushed to their phones. I have yet to figure out why they haven't grasped the concept that you really dont have to select any of these. If you dont you really will never see them. Honestly every day makes me weep a little more for the human race.
  16. Bahh only 2000 and 3000 series cards. Unfortunately I have a 1650 so no boost for me. I will say that Cyberpunk runs flawlessly, graphics wise, on my 4th Gen i5 with 24G Ram and a SSD. Haven't really seen any hardware issues either but I've been leary of CP:2077 since the data breach at CD: PR
  17. Fillin up that container condo!
  18. That's the best news about BF6 yet. Since Dice LA is the studio they hand BF games off to to fix any bugs and to handle updates and the Player Input Community its long been seen as the group that makes the BF games good after the guys in Stockholm jack it up hahaha.
  19. Oh yeah cute Irish musicians. Adding to the subscribed list haha. I'm a dirty old man lol. Seriously these bands put covers on YouTube mainly to get views however their original stuff is really good. If you like covers / cover bands then check out these guys: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPbEcJyVcETaWrubYOg4UTw They are from "Down Under" and do a really good job as cover artists.
  20. Nothing says Happy Valentines day like violence and gun play!
  21. Is CoD installed on c:? If so it doesn't matter that you have other drives. Gotta have space on the install drive. The fix would be to load it on one of the other drives and update from there. I always build with my C: being just OS and things like drivers and base files for like steam and set the Install directories to my other drives that way you leave the C: virtually unfettered from fragmented directories if you uninstall something and it leaves plenty of room for your swap file.
  22. Ya know I would gladly pay up for a functioning Battlefield: Civil War title. There were lots of innovations on the military front back then and would definitely be something no one else has done. Maybe BF7? hahaha. As far as cheating goes that's one of the main reasons I never really got into the CoD franchise. CoD always seemed to have more cheaters than BF and it was one of the main reasons I put PUBG away to pasture. Loved the game but got tired of being headshot by kiddos that weren't even close to having los on me.
  23. ....And there was a wail of anguish heard from the rooms of teenagers around the world.
