Couple Builds Shipping Container Home with no Experience
I may just do that. 110 VAc usually isn't that bad but it stings enough. I had gotten to the point it didn't bother me but when I first started wow did that zing ya hahaha. The stud spacing likewise wont really cause any issues especially inside a metal container but if someone was to come in to do something they may have issues finding the studs right away unless they tell them. The one immediate thing is with the spray in insulation. If they figure the amount needed based on a 18" OC spacing then they wont bring enough foam out unless they mix it on the spot. That stuff is usually premixed and expands when sprayed and is then cut back flush. Stays liquid until its sprayed and is no longer under pressure then poof. Great insulating properties but is like 3 times the work to install and prep for drywall. Same stuff they use to pack electronics or highly breakable items. Put them in a bag, spray a little in the box, put item in box. Spray some more done. Gotta run over that stuff with the truck to break the item inside haha.

Couple Builds Shipping Container Home with no Experience
It took a while but I finally figured out what has been bothering me about the inside build. Before going into IT when I got out of the Army, I worked as an electrician's assistant while I was in school. Watching today It finally hit me, he is pulling 12/2 and 14/3 for plugs lights and switches which are correct but he's skinning the sheaths and making up the joints before he has drywall up. This is a no no. You leave the Romex sheath on until after drywall because: a) Drywall compound is wet and its will be getting inside your boxes. b) It protects the wiring when you cut your box openings. c) You want to minimize your chance of hitting live wiring. (esp. with a toddler in the area) Plugs and switches are supposed to be installed after drywall and paint and while I can see why he would install one or two circuits before drywall it appears that he is making up all the joints pre drywall. While it probably wont cause him much of an issue and he doesn't have to worry with code enforcement he should still stick with codes and industry accepted practices because they exist for a reason. Usually to keep you from harming yourself or others. His using a 21" on center stud spacing is also a bit troubling as 18" on center is pretty much standard in the US. / nitpick

Today In Gaming - Battlefield 5 and 6 Team Balancer? - New Insurgency Content!
Ya know even though he was one of the reasons DICE started this whole hosting shit show, based on his whines about custom servers, I really dig Charlie. I think the only thing the really grinds my gears and its a personal thing is the whole "DICE are this" or "DICE are that". God damnit Charlie, DICE is a proper noun. It's DICE IS! Even though it refers to a collective it is a singular name thus IS! Ok grammar rant over hahaha. Hopefully DICE does use these things for a proof of concept in BF6 and launch it with servers or lest I wish to too much non EA servers, yeah I know.

The Expanse to End With Season 6
Yeah I did some reading as well and sounds like he's pretty much a Hollywood scumbag however my issue isn't so much them removing a predatory person from the cast so much as the studios etc. feeling its their place to investigate these issues. I guess the police dont investigate harassment cases so yeah but otherwise the police should handle investigations if its a criminal matter IMHO.

The Expanse to End With Season 6
It sucks that Cas Anvar wont be in season 6. Alex has been kind of the moral compass of that ships crew in the last few seasons. Im about sick and friggin tired of the Me Too crap. Don't get me wrong victims should speak up and allegations should be investigated. Not by studios and not by firms hired by Hollywood studios but by the police. If sexual abuse has taken place arrest the twatnoodle and be done with it however, now it just takes someone with an axe to grind to say so and so did this without a shred of proof and their career is pretty much over. Lets not get me started on the whole Johnny Depp / Amber Heard thing. Johnny is losing role after role and this psycho is having her career enhanced when both were equally as guilty of bad behavior but since she has boobs and he has, well yeah, he is automatically the one at fault and out. Sufficed to say there will not be a Pirates movie worth seeing nor a Fantastic Beast unless Depp is back. I sure wont pay to see em. Welp Larry got me awake this AM. Hahahaha / Wed. Morning Rant. **Edit** Forgot to add As they will have three books in the series to cover in the last season I really hope they either make longer episodes or more episodes and dont rush the end like so many shows based on books do.

Not sure if anyone's interested.
Yeah, I mean I dont have a problem with early access but not at the full game price. Think of it as us doing you a favor and telling you where thinks are wonky or need some work and give us a break on the cost as it reduces your need for internal play testers and gives you a WIDE variety of hardware combinations to rely on. Since we are mainly old farts here we can all remember the days when getting beta / early access was an honor and we all took the time to pour over the game and try everything. Sadly the younger guys dont really do that much any more and simply tear through as much of the game as they can as quickly as they can to move on to the next title sometimes before the actual game launches. I remember being selected for the Betas for Asheron's Call, UO, and World of Warcraft. I tested the bejesus out of these things and when they went live was selected, due to my efforts, to be awarded in game support roles with Asheron's Call and UO. I was honored to be given that level of trust and the confidence they showed in my abilities. It just seems like these days games have lost a bit of depth due to these types of testers and programs not being a thing any more. Just like every thing else in the world when you are creating something you can get bogged down in your vision of the thing and miss what someone completely outside of the process can bring to the table. I have some screen shots on a drive someplace of all my testing and online support characters. I should dig those out and make a collage and frame it with the boxes / cd case art. That would be kinda cool to hang in the gaming area.

Ahh it's still early access. That would be why.

Cyberpunk 2077 — Official Gameplay Trailer
I'm hoping that they have some music tracks from Dogstar (Keanu's old band) in the game soundtrack. That would be badass.

YouTube Will Now Play Ads Before More Videos, But Creators Won't See a Dime
Yeah was watching something on this yesterday. So basically if you have a YouTube channel and have not been accepted into the partner program or disabled monetization they are going to still plaster ads on your videos and you wont see a dime which is beyond screwed up and I suspect edging close to the illegal side especially if they do it in the middle of videos Seriously considering moving over to Bit Chute or one of the alt tech video sites as I dont really have any plans for monetizing and recording videos I make but YouTube is where the majority of the traffic is so who knows. If you noticed Google was the one of the major sites that did not virtually attend the Senate hearings on the social media platforms which may or may not have been best for them because both Republican and Democrat Senators freaking destroyed Facebook and Twitter. Look for new regulations to come down on these sites in the future. Not sure I agree with the government getting involved in policing sites but these guys have to do a far better job of holding their employees in check when it comes to moderation and make sure they keep their own opinions out of the moderation process which is apparently not happening now. It's a good watch if you are interested in the web and laws regarding it.

A Newbie In Space...
Yeah I noticed you had that flight yoke as well in your setup pic. I do remember I had issues with it in other games as well but I will try that. I had it plugged into a USB hub on the desk so it could have something to do with it. I was gonna ask you to share your mappings for the flight yoke as well. Let me move the plug to a primary tonight and see if the issue resolves. If so I will grab the mappings file from ya. I have a Nostromo for my off hand which is what that was before Razer bought it out. Mine says Belkin on the side hahaha. Old skool Yo! May need to get another of those cause damn those keys are starting to get stiff. 15-20 yrs will do that to ya.

A Newbie In Space...
Definately need to do some work there. The Thrustmaster is a dual design but its more based on flight yoke on one side and throttle on the other. I really would like to use it because it is better designed and my old extreme 3d is suffering. I logged on for a few min last night after digging it out and getting it connected. jetted over to the hangers and pulled out my ship. Strapped in and fired up the ship for some in hangar maneuvering tests and as soon as I strafed up to go into a hover the ship flipped over on me hahaha. It was then that remembered why I had bought the new HoTAs. The old one has a -30 deg bias to one side. Either the sensor is going out or something has gotten damaged over the years. It was funny as hell I wish I could have recorded my reaction and the subsequent 20 min it took me to get the damned ship flipped back over hahaha.

A Newbie In Space...
So I was able to get SC installed... OMG that was a long install! After all the patching, etc., it was late so I just went to bed. Got up the next morning and did what I needed to do around the house and launched, as it were, into the void of space, well not so much but into the expanse of Area 18. Holy crap there are a bazillion keys. Getting used to the whole WSAD movement thing again is weird. Spent most of the afternoon wandering around the station getting my bearings as to where things are and figuring out how to do certain things on foot. When I signed up I bought the ship pack Gator suggested and a chit for some credits to get started on the right foot along with my monthly sub. Was able to find the shop to buy equipment and procured the following: Full set of Armor Upgraded flight suit Backpack Multitool with mining attachment A few each Health and Oxy pens Attachments for my sidearm (wooo reflex sight) A sniper rifle (You just knew I had to have one of these Hahaha) Extra clips for both Finally figured out you had to take the tram to get to the hangars, so I went over there and after a bit discovered how to take my ship out of storage went to check it out. One thing I still have to figure out is how to get the Joystick to be recognized as when I tried to use it I was getting unbound messages. Was able to fire up the ship and hover it in the hangar and move it around via the keys and land it without damaging it. Still haven't found how to open the hangar up to get outside yet but that's probably a good thing until I get the joystick working because ... yeah I really suck at flying by keyboard. Oh and I can eat hotdogs and drink sodas as well. A winnar is me! Got on discord but no one was in the channel so I dropped it for a bit. I do like the mobiGlass concept though having all your stuff right there in one spot. This is actually the first game where the actions wheel may be helpful as well. I think I'm gonna see about binding options to the G keys on my keyboard such as med/oxy pens etc just for ease if I need to hit those in hurry. I think the only thing I did not like was the fact that while my joystick is seen by the game its going to force me to bind everything even though the bindings page shows stuff bound to one already. Could be that I have the Thrustmaster PC/PS one connected and its showing my older Joystick as the one in the game. My try hooking that one up and seeing if it works out of the can as its the same as the one shown in the diagram in game. All in all pleased with the purchase.
