  1. Well all I can say at this point is we will see. I'm excited for it but , as stated before, DICE has burned me before. In my opinion they shouldn't try and go overboard with the graphics. Give the BF4 graphics a little boost but on average leave that stuff on the low end of what's modern. No need for all the super fancy effects either. Keep graphical requirements to a medium level. Yeah you can add them but most gamers looking for quick response times turn all that stuff down/off before playing their first match. Performance is king. Like in newer titles you can have depth of view adjustable but when scoping in with a rifle any cover/landscape elements should be visible and not disappear until the scope is down. People always asked why I sat way back when sniping. Duhh its because I had my Depth of view turned way down so anyone doing the same was plainly visible. Think my longest kill was 1.5km or something insane like that. They should also just give up on the idea of renting custom servers. You tried guys and failed hard. Roll it back to BF4 style servers and give the communities the tools to build their servers their way and for coders to be able to create plugins again. Boom you are set to rake in buckets of cash where you have to do absolutely nothing. This will double, triple, or maybe quadruple the life span of your game as its done with the previous BF games prior to BF1. The most important thing they can do is LISTEN TO THEIR COMMUNITIES! Support us and we will support you with sales and expanded content purchases. BF4 getting the game was a given as well as the pass for all the DLC. By the time of BF5 I was on the monthly sub plan because I wouldn't sink the cash into it. Pretty telling. Ok I'm done now. Pretty sure Gator posts a BF thread now and again just to make sure I'm alive.
  2. You know Im right though hahaha.
  3. Im guessing she's smoking all dolled up cause she's on time just hanging at the homestead.
  4. With the crap YouTube has been pulling lately I doubt I'll ever willingly give them money other than the occasional ad that gets around adblock. I used the Disney+ Bundle last night to watch The Mandalorian first episode. ( Timothy Olyphant as the Marshal for the win! Have really liked this guy as an actor since the Hit Man Movies and Justified. Great actor.) Did Amazon split the music service off of Prime? I know it was bundled with it at one time. I mean I have Spotify premium so I can download to my old iPhone(mp3 player) to carry out where I will be playing / practicing for backing tracks so I haven't used it in a while. Last time I used it was through my Fire box hooked into the surround in the family room for tunes when company was over. I really dislike the fact that premium channels like HBO, Showtime, etc. have a, "Hey, pay even more for what you used to get!" option. I understand there has been a drastic drop in their normal subscribers just like the cable industry but when people are walking away from your service maybe its time to step back and evaluate why. I dunno it just seems like prudent business practices. If I were to find myself in charge of Spectrum, HBO, DICE etc. one of the first things I would do is to reach out to the people making the choice to support my business or not and ask What are we doing so wrong that you do not want to be our customer any longer. I know personally that if one day out of the blue the President/CEO of DICE/EA were to call me and ask why I left BF after being on the testing team and the CTE game changers teams you can bet I would take notice. He would need to schedule the meeting for a few hours another day because, damn would he get an ear full. I dont know it seems like a lot of these media companies are looking for other revenue streams instead of fixing what's really broken to start. I dont even want to get started on cable companies right now hahaha.
  5. As a person of Scottish decent and a lifelong fan I gotta say losing Sir Sean this weekend put a damper on anything I had planned. RIP Sir, you were always the perfect gentleman spy.
  6. That looks pretty awesome. Wonder what timeline they are shooting in. Based on the uniforms I would guess between the last Original series movie and ST-TNG. Definately something to keep on the radar. Oh and the obligatory Scotsman post cause well yeah...
  7. You know I have pretty much limited myself to streaming platforms. I have Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+/Hulu+ and that's it. I thought about adding CBS's streaming service but the only thing I would watch there would be the Star Trek stuff. The main reason I dont go ahead and pop for the 10 bucks for the commercial free CBS package is that you still get some commercials. I mean if I am paying for commercial free I really dont care why they are there just that they are there. Maybe one day we can get the option to pick what channels you want to see and create your own bundle on cable and we can get away from these leaching services. I would still have Amazon simply because while its the service I stream most its also the one that I didn't get for streaming. On the plus side what I have saved this year in shipping charges has paid for my other streaming services haha.
  8. Strange times brah
  9. I really do like this Vlog. Very cool concept. I'm actually thinking about doing this but on stilts on our creek property for a hunting/fishing cabin. Between this series and the Homestead Rescue show I've learned a LOT of useful stuff. One thing of note in this video he said his joists are 2 foot on center?? Why would you do that when everything is measured/produced at code specs which is 18" on center. This is why he had to add joist for that fan. I'm guessing that its to save lumber but I dunno, the handful of boards saved not sure its worth any potential issues you may run into.
  10. Damnit but if it makes a better game... oh well.

Read his about story and gotta hand it to him. He's been through a lot. Hats off to the guy even if his website is vomit inducing... hahaha.
  12. Humm interesting. Will be fun to see how they handle the heat issue in a laptop which has been the sticking point for a lot of laptop graphics cards. I know the Nvidia cards have always had a heat issue in laptops and would either slow way down or make the case extremely hot to the touch. Will be a good topic to keep an eye on.
  13. Hooo boy where to start... I gotta say you just have to love how DICE takes the one thing that builds up their communities, craps all over it, then tries to use it to eek a few bucks more out of a title before it disappears. BF3 and 4, and to some extent earlier versions, still have active player communities specifically because of the player run servers. I've considered reinstalling BF4 or 3 and at least playing the campaign modes again. I have to say DICE is not the same group that won me over to the FPS genre. Not long ago I would have never considered buying a CoD title and have now done so even though I never really got into it like I did BF. I mean really it baffles me how they can look at the numbers and not see that the direction they are going is not the correct one. I mean even with all the bugs BF4 had at the beginning people stuck with it because it was a awesome title and the ability to have your own server, fully customized to your liking, were the main selling points. I gave Hardline, BF1, and BF5 a go and while they were somewhat enjoyable they lacked that certain something that the private servers (Hardline just wasn't really designed for the private servers but they had them) gave. I can see where they saw a potential revenue stream with BF1 but it should have been abundantly clear that they did not utilize the resources they had correctly nor did they listen to people who really wanted to make the program work like it should. Will I get the next BF? Maybe but it will really depend on the opinions of people I trust (looking at you guys) as to the perceived value in it. I preordered Cyberpunk simply because I loved the PnP version of the game back in the day and the fact that they brought on the guys who worked on that version to help develop the systems in the game. It looks amazing and hope it lives up to the hype. I just really haven't found the game that "does it" for me like the older BF titles did and DICE doesn't seem willing to look back and develop what history tells them the fanbase wants. It's sad really because for me at least I would gladly hand over buckets of cash to the group that can develop these types of games. I realize that there are folks out there who dont actually care about these things and that's fine but dont do away with something that a lot of folks really enjoy about your game because some wont use it. Its not like the player run servers in BF4 were costing them anything. They still made money from them and retained a lot of players for a long long time. Just sad to see the game being downgraded in the player experience area like it is. Seems games these days are being tailored to the player base that buys a title, plays it for a few weeks and then moves on. I guess in some strange way it does make some financial sense to produce a game, sell a ton of them, then drop support for it and move to the next title but geez its just sad to see. /rant
  14. Seriously considering getting in on this. I've had an account for years just was never in a real playable state back then. Seems like its pretty solid now. I will say just like I did back then. This game is so large it will never be finished haha
  15. What really gets me is why are they still living in the tow trailer? Damn if I wouldn't have moved my cots into the danged house at this point.
  16. I gotta say my hats off to that dude for finding a hot lil number like her that will put up with living in a tool trailer and living in the sticks for this long. My wife would have been like "Oh hell naw.".
  17. Need to catch up on this. Hadn't kept up while looking for a job. I have noticed one thing, they seem to fall into the same trap a lot of homesteaders do and that is they keep adding to the build before finishing a phase of construction. They probably could have been in the home way sooner if they concentrated on the main structure and they added the new room etc. etc. That said they are doing awesome work on the home.
  18. Oops, forgot the obligatory ... "Whoah".
  19. Got my preorder yesterday .
  20. I would officially lose my shit if I spent that much on a card and it was sent to me all ghetto in a plastic bag. Forget it if it arrived damaged.
