  7. You will no longer be able to send server-wide chat messages, because that admin feature has been disabled. Too many Admins are typing messages in this tab, which causes other users is TS to Alt-Tab out because they think they received a private message. You still have the ability to share chat/links in the "Channel," but no longer server-wide. If you type a message in the Admin tab, it will prompt you and ask you if you want to send it to the "Channel" tab instead. Check the dialog box and it will automatically send it to the "Channel" if you for get.

I prefer using the analog for the very same reason you stated above. The USB will never have the same clarity as a good sound card. This is my soundcard, and it sounds great http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009ISU33E?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage You also need a good head set as well, so happy shopping.
  9. :lies: You only wish...
  10. Too much much money for so little gain. I would build a PC where the price break is factoring in speed vs. $$

  17. For me, it's not the word that is so bad, but rather the mindset of the individual saying it. I personally don't want anyone with that mindset gaming with me in the server. I would say absolutely not. If you have to be told, then you shouldn't be playing on the server in the first place. It's common decency and respect toward another human being, and if you have to be told, well, I don't want them here. I know younger people may listen to a rap song where they might hear the word "nigga," for example, and they think it's cool and permissible. In this case, I would warn them not to use that reference or slang here, but I wouldn't ban them for it. We actually have a word filter that I could set up that would warn and then kick/ban users for a few of the particularly bad words. The word "nigger" is taboo anywhere you go, and anyone who arbitrarily uses the word reveals a lot about their character. A character that we cannot afford to have in our server. Just my 2 cents!
  18. - Our host i3d.net, was only able to give us a 48-player count 60Hz server, so we rented from another company, Fragnet.net, which provided us with a 64-player 60Hz server. - The 64-player 60Hz server in L.A. from Fragnet.net had a bad crash problem, so we had them move us to Dallas, TX, in hopes of resoling the crash issue. - The Dallas server did not crash, so we thought the problem was solved. It wasn't. We discovered that 60Hz caused the server to become overtasked when we reached more than 55 players, so we tried lowering the setting down to 50Hz. - The 50Hz setting seemed stable, but there was an occasional stutter (not too bad). I found out later from the i3d.net folks that the stutter was known to be caused by the 50Hz setting, because it goes against the grain of our 60Hz monitors, which would explain all of this. Some other players found it almost impossible to play on the 60Hz setting, because their systems were less than stellar. - We also had another problem. A number of players were denied from joining our Dallas Fragnet.net server. We noticed our numbers got significantly reduced because of this, and we were never able to get above 30 players over the past few nights. I contacted Fragnet.net support personnel, and they advised me it had nothing to do with their servers, so... - With all this in mind, and after conferring with senior members, I took the action of going back to i3d.net, because we never had player connection issues with them, and they have our old bookmark that took a million years to blossom. I also asked them to put us back to 68-player slots at the normal 30Hz server, and I requested the server be moved to Dallas, TX, because it is more centrally located for most players. - We will test the i3d.net 64-player 30Hz Dallas server tonight, so everyone please make an effort in getting the server properly tested.
  19. Thanks for all your kind words, ACS, but you too have been an essential hands-on participant in making the server a success. When it comes down to making a successful server, it really takes a village (all of us) to make it happen. Kudos to all those who have helped get the server over the past months. It's not always fun to sit and wait for players to show up, but we have a dedicated few of us who do, and to those folks, I would like to thank you for helping make the server a fun place to play.
  20. Because of multiple server crashes (last night and today), I moved the server to Dallas, TX. Some of your pings will go up, and some will go down. Hopefully we will get a full tonight, so we can see what this server can do. :signs16:
