  1. Thank you! Both took me a few hours each, but I'm rather pleased with the way they came out, especially considering these are only my... what... 4th and 5th sigs ever? I just expect there are definitely some critiques people could have, ways to improve the look (such as the burn tool, which I totally didn't think about until it was mentioned).
  2. By the way! I was working on this sig alongside the other; would you say this is more forum-worthy/a better sig? Comments/Suggestions/Critiques, as always... on both. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g317/MisterBiscuit/ichigonewmethod.jpg
  3. DUDE! Rad video. And... /salute to the soldiers
  4. Okay, first things first -- WHAT?! :D Are you suggesting that I put... a picture of a biscuit there?! XD Well, I wanted to stay minimal; and the fact that I'm still pretty nub to PS, I didn't wanna get flashy at all. ^^;;
  5. Okay, so I burned the light source to dumb it down and burned the back end of the render for a little more uniformity; here's the result... http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g317/MisterBiscuit/castlevaniasig2-1.jpg
  6. Okie doke: Just to preface things a bit, I took a bit of a break from making a sig for myself 'cause I started to get a bit discouraged at my lack of expertise in the Photoshop field. I only knew about two'r'three ways to make a sig, and they all just seemd a bit... 2D. Bland. Boring. But each method had its place, but not for what I was wanting. Anyway, so I took it upon myself to kind of... mess around with this Castlevania render here. Oh, and before anything is said -- I totally think the light source is a bit bright, but I might work on it later... which is why I say... Comments/suggestions/critiques NEEDED. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g317/MisterBiscuit/castlevaniasighalp2.jpg
  7. Dude... You get a 9.50/10. There's just something about the text that I'm not diggin' entirely. Maybe it's how fluid/precise it is? I dunno. Very, very, sexy sig. I'm rather jealous. *Hands Taco a cookie.*
  8. You'd have to know just how terrible I am at RTS in general. The first time I played SC online -- ever -- I got Drone Rushed and destroyed. When I played WC3, pretty much the same story. I always got dominated. I still liked SC, and WC for that matter, but... I'm just so bad at them. I mean.. really bad. Hopelessly bad.
  9. You know what's so great about that IG footage? It looks like SC2 won't sacrifice any of the mobility/speed of units from SC1. It still looks like a fast-paced, fun, PRETTY RTS. If I didn't suck so bad at SC, I'd definitely put this on my to-buy list.
  10. The in-game footage was just... pathetic, really. The scripting looked to be rather terrible. Who would fire a HEAT rocket at a building they're 3 feet from? The animations were almost static. Did you see the way those people moved down the street? All in all, I'm totally not even going to look at this game twice. I said that the moment I saw the trailer, and I'm stickin' to it thanks to that IG footage.
  11. Well, according to this I can hear 19k. But I know I've heard higher than that (albeit on my headphones; these speakers are crap), because I've heard the mosquito ringtone CLEARLY. Regardless, because I'm on speakers right now and I just wanna be fair, I said 19k. :]
  12. +3 points for using the word meanwhile. I haven't seen/heard that in so long... Anyway, I'm totally stoked about all the threes except Spidey. PotC3 FTW! :3
  13. zomg... you better be serious. Some of the missions they're putting out now are SOOO good. So, if you have my XFire, AIM, or any other messenger, hit me up. We'll get in Vent and work some stuff out. =) If I'm not busy on WoW or somethin', I'll totally play almost any time of day. ^^;;
  14. I purchased this game on day one; certainly not disappointed. If you come into ArmA expecting a BF2-esque experience, you're going to be thoroughly disappointed. It's not at all like BF2. Very much unlike BF2, CSS, and pretty much any FPS I can think of, military tactics are very near to essential. I recall one multiplayer game where there were T72s on pretty much every street -- The streets were tic-tac-toe-y, so it looked like "#" except more vertical. So the T72s were on the ones going west-to-east, on the east side, facing west. Well, we had to get across the city, north, and we couldn't exit the city becuase... well... we were already in there. No sense in pulling out when the edge of the city was right there anyway. So we did what was clearly the best choice here; we requested air support. So we're hunkered down, hiding behind underneath this canopy of a building (HDR pourin' through, mind you. It looked sexy) and waited until we got the OK from command to move on. So we're sitting there, it's like 3 of us, and we're waiting... and waiting... and waiting. By this time, it must have been 5 minutes or so, we're like, "Should we move?" and we're starting to get anxious. So I'm chit-chatting with my buddies, who, by the way, were very cooperative. One watched west, other watched south, while I watched east (the north was where the building was. No sense in staring a building wall). Anyway, so we're anxious and completely unalert when this bloody OPFOR guy comes barrelling around the corner and, at the EXACT same time, I hear this crack -- you'd know the sound if you've ever heard it: clearly an SVD shot -- and I hear the bullet impact the wall beside me, then hear the "boom" of the gun off in the distance. (Bullet ballistics are SO sexy in ArmA. I can't rave enough about them. Oh, by the way, you see explosions before you hear them; you hear the bullet before you hear the gun... things like that really make the game worth playing.) So I take the guy out -- the one who came around the corner -- with a few bursts of fire, exchanging shots with him, clearly alerting every OPFOR in the city that we're here if they didn't know already. As I look over (free-look FTW), I see that my buddy got hit by the bad guy's spray. Now we have a guy who's injured in his leg, which means he has to prone-crawl everywhere, and we're in no-no zones. The city was far from clear. (I'm guessing, by the way, that the sniper either decided to not give his position away again or was taken out by some troops on the outskirts of the city or something). Moral of the story: Keep a medic with you. Anyway, so the air support came, then took small-arms fire, causing a fuel leak, crashed, took out a few buildings, and we all died as a result. Communication is key in this game, and there are plenty of maps (I should call them missions; there's only one map) where vehicles DO NOT respawn so intelligence is a necessity. You can't be wasteful with vehicles, ammo, or anything else. --- I'll sum everything up: This game is fantastic. If you're in bushes, and you're far enough into that bush, you are concealed. It's not like BF2 where you stick out like a sore thumb despite being concealed; you are VERY difficult to spot. I've had plenty of occasions where I've taken fire and tracers were the only way I could see the bad guy. The place this game falls short is sounds. Sounds are just a mess, rather unrealistic. BUT this is fixed by Realism Add-ons or things like that, and there are already plenty of them out there. For the record, the demo is not a very good indicator of the game (despite what I've said in other ArmA threads, I no longer would suggest picking up the demo to judge the actual game off of, it'd be more a "is this the type of game I would play?" kind of playtest). If anyone here plays, send me some messages on XFire or something. I'd love to get together and go door-to-door lookin' for those baddies hidin' in Paraiso or somethin'. :] EDIT: Holy wow that's a long post.... I got carried away. 15. There is still some speculation, but from everything I'm hearing, Armed Assault is NOT the sequel to OFP. Lemme tell you right now that Armed Assault -- based on the OFP2 screenies I've seen -- is a much higher quality game. Much. If the quality of OFP2 stays as it is, ArmA is definitely going to win this battle. Already, there are loads of mods out for ArmA, so I can definitely foresee it keeping a steady, devoted following and I predict that OFP2 will flop unless it implements some really revolutionary things. Anyway, check out the demo for ArmA before you purchase here.
  16. Well, let's make sure it's clear that this is not OFP's sequel. OFP2 is due out in 2k8.
  17. Woo! It's finally that time, everyone! Tomorrow, May 1st, 2007 -- Armed Assault comes to the United States! Lemme just say, for those that played the Euro demo, the game (1.05 now) has changed considerably. The GUI (server browser in particular) looks SOOOOO much nicer and aiming has changed as well. Free-aim is now supported in ironsights. In other words, you can walk with ironsights up, but at the bottom of your screen, then move the ironsights to where you need them if you would be to engage. And, if you can play this game on "Very High" -- Do it. It looks fantastic. Anyone else plan on buying it? I certainly will be. =O
  18. -Shrug.- I play it daily. >>; It'd be nice to stop playing alone. Personally, I love it, but it does have some problems. 9/10, no doubt.

  21. Just called Blockbuster here, they don't carry it; however, I'm so confident in your opinion, 11bravo10, that I'll be actually purchasing it from Amazon. =)

  23. I'm renting it today. The full name of the movie is "Combat Diary: Marines of Lima Company."
