Optimus Prime. My mother couldn't help herself, really; she just needed me to be Optimus Prime! She was initially going to settle for King Leonidas, but, I'm really glad she picked Optimus Prime. I think it makes me the man I am today. (You know, a social worker who dreams about lobsters, field mice, and crabs.) So, as I stepped out the door of my house, dressed all dandy for court...

Strawberry Field Salad v Fresh Mango Salad
Harmless fun, really; I haven't found the apple threads intrusive, annoying, or anything negative at all. The forums still go about business as usual, even with those threads there. -Shrug.-

I wasn't sure how I knew the lobster's name, just that I did. It was an awkward feeling. As my mind wandered, I imagined that I had most likely met the lobster before. Upon arriving at this conclusion, I approached the window and told Dorian the Lobster to go to the front door. I then opened the door... (By the way, I'm assuming that Dorian the Lobster is outside, because there was a "huge bang on the window downstairs." On, indicating that the sound originated from the outside.)

VOIP Question
Okay, well, if it's anything like BF2 (I imagine they wouldn't have changed it too drastically), that means you're being too loud! Just back away from the mic a bit and see if it fixes it. ^^ Another thing is, sometimes if you key the mic for too long, it'll give you the cracked speaker icon.

VOIP Question
Is it switched in 2142? In BF2, it's B to squad, V to commander by default.

World of Warcraft Question.
Same thing. It's immersion into fantasy, not necessarily as an escape, but as a way to be creative. It's, frankly, no different than going airsofting and playing soldier. Mind you, I don't LARP. Probably never will. But, it's really just a hobby no different than anything else. It's no more or less "nerdy" or unsettling than, say, building model cars, collecting/shooting guns, collecting stamps, paintballing, or any other hobby for that matter.

Quickest round ever.
I went back through the training, 'cause I got a friend to play and wanted to make sure I could kind of hold her hand through the training (she was/is new to FPSes), and they actually made the training harder! Like, they changed some of the places -- The obstacle course in particular! (All my buddies, when we started playing, lmao'd at "That may be your way, but that's not the Army way!" They've since taken that out.) You can destroy the HUMMVs. Generally a T72 or RPG will take you out if you're not quick. As far as gameplay, the game remains the same game! Damn good map is Steamroller. I'm in love with it. In fact, all the GuildHall maps own. SF Old Town is the epitome of urban combat. My favourite new addition is the SAI only because of the Enemy Spotted key. "Enemy spotted! <red dot appears on map to show you where the guy who spotted the enemy was looking>"

So, it's official, I'm hitched!
Huzzah! Congratulations and best wishes! ^_____^

Barry Bonds is a singer/songwriter now?! SIGN ME UP FOR THAT ALBUM, BABEH! -- If he actually used/uses steroids, the record absolutely should be dropped IMHO.

World of Warcraft Question.
LARPers only get bad rap from internet videos. It's not as bad as the internet would have you to believe, really.

Quickest round ever.
I'm not playing until 3.0. ^^ A lot of people complain that AA has gotten progressively worse since 1.9; I disagree wholeheartedly. I think since I started playing, AA has only gotten better as far as maps and playability goes. I guess just play it for yourself. I still like it. -Shrug.-

World of Warcraft Question.
RPPVP servers are known to have a more definite grasp on grammar and English as well as a much more friendly, community-based atmosphere. Granted, if you're not the D&D type, RPPVP servers aren't for you, but if you do enjoy being creative with your characters and enjoy World of Warcraft lore, it's worth checking out. I rolled originally on a carebear server, then tried a PVP server, then settled on RPPVP. I couldn't see myself anywhere else. =]

Crysis In-Game Footage
I gotta say, I'm impressed, but at the same time disappointed. Visually, and by the looks of the way it plays, this game has the potential to be one of the best -- in fact, maybe THE best -- tactical/realistic shooters out there. Environmental destruction, ironsights, lean, HDR, the list of things that are great about this game continues. But it just looks SOOOO arcade... I hope Crysis allows for modding like HL2 does, and I hope the 'realism' community hops onto this one's back, because it has some tremendous potential.

Quickest round ever.
My honest opinion here: The objective of the maps is to capture CPs. There's nothing wrong with doing so quickly. It's just like America's Army. The point of the game is to ACCOMPLISH AN OBJECTIVE -- it even says that as you're loading up -- not to run around and kill and take OBJs as a secondary priority. Those game mode blurbs are there for a reason. This argument is exactly the same as I got all too often on Urban Assault on AA. I would always tell my team to go directly to the OBJs, but the other team wanted to whore things out and spend all this time just shooting at each other, then when it's empty, go for the OBJs. Our team, of course, dominated because we win by default by securing both weapon caches. The other team got very upset with us, but our natural reply was, "It's what you're supposed to be doing." After a while, they learned the hard way that your job is to DEFEND or ATTACK AN OBJECTIVE. In BF2 terms, this means you're either capping or you're killing near a CP. You can't rightly be upset with someone for beating your team by playing the game the right way. If they capped all of your CPs, maybe you should have had better defenses on one. IMHO.

World of Warcraft Question.
I lead a guild on a RPPVP realm - Twisting Nether (US). It's pretty small, so we're all pretty much good buddies. It's called Syzygy, and I'm Ismir. So if you RP and you PVP, head on over and send me a tell. PVP is optional, RP is required. ^_~

TrackIR 4 Pro Point-of-View Headset
ArmA makes the best use of it I've ever come across. Love ArmA for that. Very, very, very fluid and very simple (and an absolute necessity, by the way, if you are a pilot). I've had my eyes on this puppy since TrackIR3, but... Well... I don't have 200 to spend. =[

Insurgency
Hey bud! I remember playing with you on a different server (some random pub). This is FSM! Lord Fuzzywig! =] Nice to see you checkin' out the Armory. ^^

E3 is Upon Us!
You have to have a badge with your picture on it and all this other information. From what I heard, it's actually been difficult for even people who ARE allowed in to get in. No luck there, bud. Sorry! =[

Insurgency
Dude, you're totally right. I don't know about camping, necessarily, (I've always seen that as a viable tactic in any game, but I don't see it happening much in INS) but the spawn camping is RIDICULOUS in this game! Any game that has mobile spawns needs to take into account that each spawn needs to be "safeguarded." You can't just have players spawn into the heat of battle, or where they would be near getting shot in the head as soon as they spawn in. Whether it be a physical safeguard, where you spawn far enough away from the battle that getting shot instantly isn't a problem, or spawn protection, where you are invulnerable for, say, 3-5 seconds immediately following spawn, it needs to happen. It's been said about a hundred million times on the forums, but all ths makes you wonder what the hell the testers were doing. Almaden is so clearly Insurgent stacked. It's not even, like, "Oh, USMC just doesn't know what to do." No, they can have a perfect idea of what to do and employ awesome teamwork to do it, but the fact is, there are only three places they can go to get from Alpha to Bravo and every single one of those places is a chokepoint. You have the mosque, which gets camped to hell, and even 203s and smoke won't save you from the spray of the RPKs and spam of the frag grenades; you have the street, which is murder because Insurgents are always setting up their sniper to watch the road; lastly, you have that one building that you have to run in which requires you to use the street. You have to run up the street, then take a hard right up some stairs, then a hard left in a doorway. Insurgents like to camp here because Marines are too busy trying to sprint in from all the gunshots to be able to engage. Terrible, terrible, terrible set up, IMO. The worst of all the maps is Ramadi when it comes to spawn camping. Ramadi has those two little "hallways," so to speak, that all players must exit to get into "the map." But the map developer decided it'd be cool to let players get in buildings' windows and other things to camp those areas almost exclusively. That's a great way to get people to leave the server, or even the game, entirely. It's happening now on Hillah too. USMC spawn likes to get camped, because it's SOOOO easy to do so. They provided the Insurgents with all this cover and these little holes they can peek through and just pewpew the Marines away as soon as they go over the hill in their spawn.
