Technological advancements produce new and exciting games for the masses to play. That's just the way it will always be. Online gaming is more than just a game...its a community of people from all around world getting together and enjoying each others company. This is what it is all about...PEOPLE. Thanks for playing Firearms and Desert Combat with us...we enjoy your thoughts, expressions, and company. Its always nice to be around nice (good) people.

  10. I started this morning at 10:00 AM, and have now just finnished making all the changes to the DC stats page...14 hours later. I completely reinstalled and reconfigured the MySQl database, and then spent a long time hacking the design to make it look nice and blend into the site. I was actually done around 10:00 PM, but I accidentally deleted the style.css sheetthat I had worked on for almost 3 hours. I almost died.... Anyway, here is the new look. A link is also provided on the main page http://69.93.1.188/bfselect/index.php I hope you like them...if not...oh well !

    Welcome Spydi...
  12. I added a new script to the main website that will let you see who is playing DC (realtime). Here is the link: http://69.93.1.186/bf1942live/ Very Cool
  13. This was the most involved install of any web program I have ever installed. It looks a little crude right now, and I have to fix a few things like the colors and weapons missing, but here is a sneak preview of what they are going to look like: http://69.93.1.186/selectbf/php/index.php
  14. The people that made this program are aware and are fixing it. There will be a new release coming soon (I hope)

Well, we are slowly moving in the direction of DC. Firearms is a fun game, but it is dying a slow slow death. Example: Today at 3:20 PM ESTTotal Servers: 63Occupied Servers: 15 (6 had fewer than 3 players)Total players: 150 WorldwideWith Desert Combat available, we at least have a alternative game to play for when FA is finally buried in the ground. By the looks of things, I think it is happening sooner than later. More news will follow with TA DC as time moves on. For now, like Mac says, we are learning it and having fun. Maybe one day we will be 100% Desert Combat, or even another mod if someone has a game as good with modern warfare.
  17. I will need to change the setting....I pumped it up 300m hehe
  18. I owuld join, but I am 100% against weapon bans, so I guess I will not be participating :?
  19. We are actually doing both now (DC and FA), so don't worry about us leaving FA. Like Mac said, DC is a lot of fun, but we stll love our Firearms. We have the best of both worlds because we rent a dedicated server and can run any games we desire. For example, I was going to shut down the FA server completely so we could run a 40-player DC server on the 1st, but as you can see, we did not do this. After reading the posts in these forums, I realized that those who were unable to play DC would be left out in the cold, so I kept FA running with a 20-player server. You will see the player numbers change on the servers from time to time, so just hang in there. One of these days we will shut the FA server down to experience a large scale DC game, but not at the moment.

  21. Here is a link to the old FA site when it first started...some of the links work and some don't http://www.firearms.4mg.com/
  22. Ventrilo is a voice over the internet program like "Teamspeak" and Roger Wilco. The Armory has a Vintrilo server setup and running, so if you would like to particpate in our game communications, please send a request email to info@fa-thearmory.net. You can download the client version at http://ventrilo.com/download.php If you are accepted to join us, you will receive an email with the login information required to particpate. Also, you will must follow the rules listed below: - You must setup the program to use a "hotkey" (push to talk) - You must observe the "no foul language" rule - You must not make disturbing noises or play music that will disrupt gameplay - You must not give away the location of the enemy (e.g., at the end of a map when you are dead and roaming) while playing Firearms. Seperate channels have been created for each team (if desired). - You must not be a "bucketmouth" and chatter all the time. Please be courtious to others and allow them to speak NOTE: During setup, you will see a block entitled "Phonetic". This block is used to pronounce your name as you enter the channel. Only enter your name in that block (e.g., gator...not [TA]-Gator). You can then hit the "Play" button to see how it sounds. You may try different spellings until to get the desired pronounciation of you name.
  23. They don't over ride Ventrillo either...just go to "Setup" and increase your inbound volume. You can also adust you game sounds in FA and turn them down. I had no problems whatsoever and it overrides the game sound the other way
  24. - We tried MIRC, but not to many used it. We have been using Ventrillo though. - I like Ventrillo better because of the sound quality, and the feature that verbally announces who enters and leaves the voice server. Teamspeak does not have the same voice quality, and when a players enters...it just simply says "Player entering" (or something like that). We will be opening a few public channels for TA friends & regulars soon.
