I knew you could pick up your own mines and what not, I heard somewhere you can pick up somebody elses if you're the same class, but I could never get it to work. Here's a couple things I don't see peaple do, did you know... 1) The Zeller (Sniper Rifle unlock) will detonate APM's and RDX? 2) If you die before you detonate an RDX you placed you can still detonate it if you manage to get to your kit before it despawns? (Your teammate can pick up your kit and detonate for you as well) 3) Apparently, if you detonate an RDX that's on a vehicle with the Zeller, the RDX will still explode at full strength. 4) Finally, Detonating APM's or RDX with the Zeller will still give the kill for the person who placed it. This opens up a nasty exploit where an enemy sniper can give you team kills if he times it right.

I don't mind it with gunships so much, but bailing a transport?? A mobile spawn point??? That player is selfish and messing with my gameplay! Really irritates me.

Shrubbery is the most underused weapon in the game. Yes I'm serious. Ever hide an APM, EMP/Motion Mine, or sentry gun in a shrub before? Try it, you'll be suprised how well it works. :thumbsup:

Don't let it get to you Stovich. My first few visits to the Armory's first server, I got kicked a few times for language myself. Just make the effort to keep to the rules, keep up the good attitude we're seeing here, and things will go fine. Welcome to the funny farm :thumbsup:

My main concern when I talk to a new player is make sure they get their 3 Fundamental unlocks ASAP. Grenades Better Energy Regen Better Sprint If you already have them, then you can go any route you choose and be well off. Another piece of advice. (I picked this tip up from Gator) I have a mouse with one extra button. I mapped that to my knife for my knifing runs. It sits right under the middle mouse button which I have mapped to weapon 3 (which is the main weapon). This gives me easy access to both switching between my preferred secondary weapon and primary weapon, as well as a quick way to switch fire modes. (some weapons such as the BAUR work way better in single shot mode at longer ranges) If you don't have an extra button on your mouse, it still may not be a bad idea to map your main weapon to the middle mouse button so you can switch to your main weapon quickly if your using something like a medkit. This keeps my left hand free for dodging instead of reaching for a weapon key.

The Old NS had a much friendlier playerbase and community than FA did tho I'm glad you guys like FA so much. Like you, I'm happy the game is coming and from decent peaple. However.... if they make FA like it was in the final days where only the rushers have a chance to survive and peaple who like to defend (or as peaple like to quantly put it, CAMP) are compeltely hosed, then I'm going to much prefer NS. Not that I won't play FA:S, I'm looking forward to playing it with the clan again. I just enjoy NS better. The gameplay is very unique, combining elements of an RTS into a shooter. My first games were RTS, but my favorite is shooters. Here I get the best of both worlds.

Interesting, I may have to look into this. I'm running into some unique problems on my system I never experianced before. Sometimes, my computer don't seem to run as fast I feel it should. I'll give that update a try when I get home in about an hour.

I'm with Gator on this one. There is really NO NEED for 3rd party stat sites. What we are provided in game and at EA are more than enough. The fact they are making such a big deal over this is fishy. EA... however, could basically tell them straight up "you can forget it!". Personally, I think they can and will do it, but they have yet to figure out how to reliably "charge" for it. You know how EA worships the almighty dollar. LOL

The new news that has me intrigued is the effort to do a "dynamic infestation". For those who never played the game, the Aliens (Khaara they call themselves) have a tendency to "infect" the area around them with a bacterial ooze, very simular to the "Creep" from Starcraft. In the original game, this infestation was just a static texture put directly into the maps. In this newest installment, they want to make the infestation advance and retreat based on territory controlled by the Khaara and Marines. If they can succede in this, they are hoping it's presense or lack of can play a part in the game... such as certain objects working only in the presense of the infestation or what not. I'm jazzed to see that these guys are doing everything in their power to keep themselves independent so they can make the game as THEY evision... and not in the vision of a bunch of money hungry publishers like Electronic Arts.

The biggest Ribbon I've seen so far is the Legion Of Merit. That ribbon is worth 2k. It's given after you get 150 hours and 10 best kill streaks... then all you need is 10 kills in a round and you get an easy rank up. Pins are good for points, even tho they aren't worth more than 20. In titan mode, go for the Titan guns when you have a lull and you can get 20 points for every Titan Destructor Pin you earn. 8 Knife Kills in a round will earn you the 20 point Collector's Pin. I've been doing alot of work with the Clark Shotgun lately. 8 or 10 shotgun kills earn you the Close Quarters Combat Pin, which is 10 points right there. Just a few examples. But they are right, the rewards are good for the points. They also help you as a player get proficiant in other areas of the game which helps you be a better team player if you need to switch to another kit because of a sitation. Pity Medals don't give you points tho :/ Those "Get all Bronze/Silver/Gold badges" medals should of been worth SOMETHING for all the effort you put into them

Given the choice, I've had the greatest respect for Gator, Fatty, and Mac for the longest time. I've had to add JC to that list in recent history

CRT 21 INCH Samsung SyncMaster 955. Bought it brand new a couple years back and have been very very happy with it since. I run 1024 x 768 or better at the highest texture detail on most my games now. Games have been looking awesome on this moniter ever since I got the machine to power the higher detailed textures. This machine may be getting turned over to my wife this spring. She says if I did that I'd be allowed to build myself a new gaming machine. I may go ahead an include a new moniter with it. What I really want to do, is take one of the Norcent or LG 42" or better LCD's/Plasmas I have at work and borrow them gaming for a weekend! I noticed all of them have standard moniter hookups. Can you imagine playing on one of those bad boys?

Good to see you again. I wish my BFV disk wasn't totally destroyed, I'd be playing it too. I stopped playing it because of hardware issues... but now that isn't the issue :/

Been in 2 clans and countless guilds. I started my gaming community days in a Total Annihilation clan called the "Assembly Of Generals" [AOG]. There were only 5 of us, and i was the only American as the rest were Aussies. (Let's here it for late night gaming on the west coast! RAWR!) Good folks. We were allied with the LORD clan, which was where I met LORD ORION who to this day is my best online bud. I never had much user for shooter clans. Most of them seemed like a bunch of elitist jerks and I wanted nothing to do with them. The guilds for the various RP games I've played were numourous, played about 2 dozen different guilds... all flaws. The Armory is the only Clan I really had an interest in joining after playing on their Firearms server for about 2 months. Real class act and friendly folks... and with a helluva lot more staying power than any other group I've been with. So for me, I'm Armory 4evah!

I really don't mind it. I dont' do it myself, but if somebody does it to my Tank or Walker, it doesn't upset me. I take it as a compliment that they feel the need to pull a trick like that to get me rather than sneak a pilum shot in my weak spot

I heard he likes to play on 24/7 Gibralter Madness, but I haven't seen him in two days of checking to confirm this. The interview does say he has like 500 buddies from peaple who just want to find him and take his tags, why not buddy him like the rest of those n00bs if you want his tags so bad?
