Got to 50 unique dogtags myself last night. No new knife yet tho. I'm thinking I need to earn my bronze badge or collectors pin first. :/

I have one statement concerning protecting yourself against an unlock you really dislike.... FIELD UPGRADES ARE YOUR FRIEND! If you roll with a decent squad... even one half braindead... long enough, you are bound to get at least one field upgrade. These upgrades will allow you to temperarely activate any of your possible choices for an unlock to try out. Just watch for that little green bar in the upper left corner next to your squad number. Everytime one of you get's a squad assist point... that little green bar fills. When it fills up completely, you get a field upgrade and will be able to try out one of your next possible unlocks on a temperary basis. I highly suggest that before you get any gun, either try it as a field unlock or steal it off a friend you know has it. Try it out, decide if it's for you. This way I discovered that the Voss, Pilum, Baur, and Lambert are all weapons I can roll with and safely unlock. But I also learned that I suck with the underslung shotgun and seem to be clueless as to how to operate a cloaking device (pity I need that device for the Lambert. Grrrrr) On a side note... I'll be hunting for a Shotty to play with in the near future. I believe I'll have the Lambert before the end of next week and will be working on support unlocks next. So don't be suprised if the Roach will be takin' your gun off your corpse and skuttling away with it to use on one of your teammates :thumbsup: Just a little tip to help you guys out.

A few of you have realised this already. However, for those of you who don't realise, I'm putting this up for all of you to see. Last night I earned my Silver badge for Assault kits. The sucker gave me a huge FIVE HUNDRED CAREER POINT BONUS. And it wasn't terribly hard to get. In fact, I'm halfway to getting my Silver Engineer badge already! It's just a matter of logging the time, that's all. Makes me wonder how much the gold badges are worth tho... the bronze were only worth 20 if I recall... so from a 20 to 500 point jump... the gold badges are going to be worth ALOT of points. So I got to looking over the various badges and medals, and discovering that most of them arent' all that impossible to achieve. I've got one that just requires my Pistol, Recon, Knife, and Explosives bronze badges (as I got the other 4 required ones) which I figure can all be fairly easy for me to achieve with just one more unlock in the Recon kit. At any rate, I guess the point I'm trying to get across to those of you who are trying (like myself) to at least look halfway respectable in the shadow of such ranking giants as JCMoncur, GiJoe, or what not.. these are our keys. If nothing else... working toward these badges will make you better at using the skills required to earn them... and thus making you a more rounded out player.

EA is so big, I honestly believe they think they don't need peaple like this to support them anymore. They own a big enough chunk of the gaming market they can do pretty much what they want to. It's only if the players rise up enmass and say "no more" and stop padding EA's wallet that this will happen. Sony Online Entertainment alienated a huge portion of their playerbase when they changed "Star Wars Galaxies" in a way that 95 percent of the playerbase hated, and their supscriptions plummeted BIG TIME. So, it's been known to happen. However... as popular as the Battlefield, Command And Conquer, Madden, Need For Speed, and other well known titles are... I'm afraid that EA is pretty much set in their corner of the market. I highly doubt things are going to change soon.

I think this guy either got snowballed by somebody with some skills or is making crap up. EA, if they want to test stuff for themselves, can either test on their own server or move to another if they get banned.

I have taken to lovingly calling the Pilum AVR (Rail gun) "Big Bertha". This rifle is absolutely SWEET for taking out vehicles. And it's GREAT for long range work. You can aim, fire, then duck behind cover with absolutely no need to stay exposed to make sure the projectile impacts the target. I have taken out Walkers from outside visual range using nothing more than the red name to target by! You can't do that with the default Engie rockets....

Exactly the way I view it.

Like any game, it has alot of issues starting out. Right now, the issue of the week is ranks and unlocks not updating right...... again. But the game itself is sweet. You'll like it.

BF2 SF gave me fits at times, especially with the inadaquate AA in the game. However, I can put that aside and give 'er a decent "farewell"

No I don't Gator, I'm usually too busy defending my own Titan to attack the other one. But that's how I got my "Clear Skies" pin :thumbsup:

I think the biggest issue peaple have when learning this game is their battle awareness. I've noticed even the best among us get "tunnel vision" and block everything out except that flag they want to capture, or getting the combat tag of that annoying sniper that's pissing you off. They fail to notice small things that could give them the edge. Things that seem elementry to me so many peaple miss. Example... I personally have appointed myself the group's "Anti-Armor" guy. And as good as I am with the Engie SMG in close quarters combat, the gun really isn't suited for fighting medium to long range. So I usually play Assault most of the time. However, whenever I die or have a quiet moment, I check the spawn map in the vehicle spawn points for an empty walker or tank. This is my warning that armor may be on the way soon and tells me to switch to my Engineer kit to deal with the threat. When moving to your objective, take in the whole scene, not just the area in front of you. Keep your sound on so you can hear that far off walker or that sniper shot coming from your left... or the hissing of that Frag nade somebody just dropped behind you. And finally... that mini map is you friend! Watch it like a hawk! Watch for those red blips that may be somebody trying to flank around you. Yah yah, you probably know all this. LOL Titan mode seems to be good for points. But I've noticed that Commanding both a team or a squad is good for bonus points. Shoot for those combat pins, they give extra points as well. I just spent a round in an Engineer Kit designating myself as "Entry Denial" defending the Titan. I manned the Titan guns destroying both incoming aircraft and APC's on the ground. If my guns were destroyed, I fixed them. if they got an aircraft on my Titan, I'd jump to the ground, grab an APC, then jump to the aircraft and take it out. Devoting myself to this task got me my Titan Defense Pin, Clear Skys Pin, my Engineer Badge, and lots of repair points and kills. Titan mode is definatly were the points are at. I just wish we could keep peaple from moving the Titans so the game would be more playable.

Going on my 6th year in working in the "Rent To Own" industry. Due to the large amounts of buyouts, this will be the 4th company I've worked for in this industry. My job involves a little of everything from Collections to Repair And Service. With Christmas coming up, if any of you needs advice on electronics brands, furnature, or even appliances, I know the ins and outs of alot of these products and can tell you what brands and devices to buy or avoid.

I personally don't have a problem with it, and I'm SC. And those who saw my previous post on the subject know why.

Managed to get a hold of the Engie Rail Gun (left side weapon unlock) as a Field Upgrade the other day. Fell head over heals in love with it's sheer stopping power. It'll be my next unlock :thumbsup:

Nearing the 1800 mark here which isn't bad for a family man with a job. I expect to break 2000 possibly tonight. Have my nades, both sprints, and the Voss unlocked for Assault. Working my way to the Engie rail gun now. Lovin' the game. I can't wait till the server is tweaked and everything is settled in and running perfect.

I never realised how much those bonus points add up until I had a very good round on a Titan map. I picked up a Combat Efficiancy Pin, a HALO Ribbon, a Silver Star, Support Bronze, a Titan Defense Pin, and a Titan Combat Pin.... total take was about 120 points! 0.0 After that round I began to realise why Titan mode was so popular.....

Armor is usually all about playing it careful and not getting in the middle of them. Try and keep them all in front of you (as rear armor is the weakest usually) and try to time hitting your shields to about a second before the first rocket lands to get more out of the protection. At any rate, nice work Tiger! Having a good day like that is what makes the game worth playing at times :thumbsup:

I was playing around with the leaderboards and I noticed the top player in knife kills in the world is from Japan with over 1000 knife kills. Next highest is an American with about 600ish. I got a laugh when I saw the top guy was from Japan. I will strike fast, quiet, and deadly! BANZAI! Well, to the thread at hand... I play Assault most of the time. 2/3 of the way to my Assault Silver badge last I checked due to the sheer time played on it. I unlocked the Voss and never looked back. I'm going for the Engie Rail gun next as I do switch to engie to deal with vehicles often and I really hate that default rocket launcher. After that, I'm probably going to try and unlock the improved Engie repair and the improved ammo hub under support.

I like Titan mode.. but I dislike it with a passion when commanders start moving the Titans around and causing lag. Unless we have a way to keep the Titans from moving, we should stay away from those maps.

Only reason I took nades was to unlock the extra endurance and faster sprint. Once I got that I went straight up the medic side of assault since I prefer to go infantry on infantry. Haven't got to the Voss yet, but I unlocked it a couple times as a field unlock. I think I could really like this gun once I get used to it. It's stopping power is quite nice. I've noticed the advanced sniper rifle making increasing appearances. The killing power on that thing is incredible. I've gotten so frustrated facing the thing, I've taken to hunting sniper dogtags that use them.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great game. Despite it's bugs I'd put it miles above BF2 in experiance.

1) I'm having issues with weapon switching too, but I just figured I'd get used to it. 2) Actually, the kits will stay as long as you stay on the server. It's only after the server crashes or you disconnect that they should be resetting. 3) It throws me off too that the Engineer rocket is in the primary weapon slot. I keep wanting to switch weapons and I'm so used to my assault config I get the wrong weapon. (I use mouse wheel to weapon switch) 4) I had some issues getting my crouch to bind the first day. I just kept at it until it took. Haven't had issues since. 5) OMG the unlock issue is a big one. Being able to get the new toys and whatnot is a big reason to play the game. Why the HELL haven't they made this fully operational by now?? Actually, I have a new beef. This is what, the 4th Battlefield? Why the hell haven't they come up with a way for the game to read your previous game binds and load them into the new game? That annoys the HECK out of me.

I know it's a bit small, but I whipped it up in like 10 minutes. I haven't played in photoshop in forever! Forgot how much fun it was. Feel free to comment.

LOL Guess a rank restricted server is a good place to go hide with an alternate account when you need an ego boost eigh?
