  1. Admins and Senior Council are the ones who vote on your app, so we're the ones you need to suck up too. I take my steaks medium well done please.... JK It'll take a couple weeks for your app to be voted on. We want to get to know our apps first before we vote.
  2. Actually JPenn, you are dead wrong. I do not shoot at somebodies foot sticking thru a wall. I don't roll that way. I live what I preach. And yes, I would spare you. And yes, I realise that not everybody shares that idealistic spirit. But while you are playing in OUR playground, you will play by that spirit or be shown the door, end of story. **** EDIT. had jotted the other real quick at work, now I'm going to add what I thought about on the way home **** What it gets down to, is the fact that this is a Multiplayer game. Therefore, what you do affects the gameplay of those around you. And if you don't have enough respect for those honest players around you to play the game it was meant to be played without the bugs, then you are really not somebody we want on our server. It Interfere's with the gameplay of the rest of us, therefore breaks one of our most fundamental cornerstones of our community.
  3. I'm going to have to disagree with you strongly JPenn. Sure, it is not your fault these holes exist. However, it IS YOUR FAULT IF YOU DECIDE TO USE THEM. Yah yah, I already hear the "This is war, use any advantage" BS arguement coming. This is something we have argued over and over in gaming. But here's the deal... it's morally and ethically WRONG. And therefore I cannot allow this. And until I'm told otherwise by my superiors, I catch ANYBODY using these glitches, they're gone from the server... END OF STORY. Using these glitches goes against the spirit of the game and is unfair to those who want to play honestly. EA, fix your crap!
  4. Actually, I can believe it. I've had it happen to me several times. There have been lots of occasions where I've tried to use a piece of equipment but instead of using it my gun will fire. The game is buggy, I've also witnessed peaple reviving their friends but it was not a defib I saw them using, but a shotgun. They'd point to the ground, I'd here the gun go off... and then the corpse would revive. This is completely plausable.
  5. I"m kinda curious about it myself. Going off his stats posted here http://www.battlefield.ea.com/battlefield/bf2142/PlayerDetails_Teamwork.aspx?Lang=US&SrchName=&PID=81312645&Profiles= I see nothing that indicates an obvious stat padder. EDIT I posted this as White Nine was posting his. I was not aware of this event. I'd like to hear DB explain this.
  6. Occasional slips are tolerated, however it's up to the admin wiether or not to kick. The server has an autowarn, so you were warned... period. If we see it, we will act on it.
  7. I just realised that the top 3 ranks in the game are hardcapped to only allow a set few elite players to actually have that rank. Anotherwords, no matter how good your score is, once you get just below those ranks, you are NEVER gonna rank up again unless your score beats the guy who holds the rank above you. Anotherwords, at this point, no legit player has a chance in hell of ever achieving Major General, Liet General, or Supreme Commander as they will be held by stat padders. Shotty... what you fail to realise is a majority of these stat padders are extremely easy to spot. A majority of the exploits involved get Teamwork points, not kills. Therefore, just look for the guy with a HUGE teamwork score and little or zero kills, and you found your padder. We're talking peaple who get 300, 500, or even 900+ teamwork points a round! How can a person who scores like that possibly be legit?? I've only see 1 exploit to date that allows for an insane Kill to Death ratio. Every other exploit involves teamwork points. So I'm going to have to disagree with you Shotty... they CAN go thru database and at least destroy these peaple who have these insanely high Teamwork points in very little time. The graphs are there, they can track how fast your score raises. I'm sure a simple data miner can weed these bastards out and reset or delete their accounts. I would support this 100 percent because I am 100 percent confident that there is NOBODY LEGIT who has the kind of points these exploiters have. So anotherwords... DICE/EA... do your DAMNED JOB!
  8. Well Weihe, to answer both your questions with one stone.... You get a teamwork point whenever anybody spawns in a transport while you are hovering it over the Titan. However, the way the coding is, if a passenger switches seats like crazy, the pilot will get points crazy. Stupid exploit, if i catch anybody doing it, I'll ban them. I was on a random server last night earning points killing peaple using this exploit, earned me another Clear Skies and Titan Defense Pin in the process LMAO.
  9. No wonder they were talkin' about resetting the stats. LOL l337 5pl017 m@57@h!
  10. I'm becoming quite aware there are alot of huge glaring holes in this scoring system where players can both intentially and unintentially pad their stats. (I have 520 points I don't deserve sitting on my score right now thanks to a bug in the badge system) The only way they can fix the integrity of the system is to completely reset it after fixing these holes. However, there is no prize up for grabs. It's not like the top players in the world get a prize from EA for being top players. There's no money on the line, just pride. So screw it, leave it as it is and just have fun with the game.
  11. Okay guys, just got worse. I got 500 points I wasn't supposed to get. Because my award didn't go thru, I was awarded the Good Conduct Ribbon yet again. It's my understanding these can only be awarded once... and yet I got it again and the 500 points that comes with it. Now I"m a Master Sargeant of the army.... but I really don't feel like I earned it.... Damn EA and these bugs. On a lighter note, the award lag seems gone now, as the Good Conduct Ribbon has taken this time. However, my Explosive Gallentry Badge is still missing. Guess you guys will have to deal with my APM spam again in the near future.
  12. Basing it off your CPU and RAM, I'd say yes. I don't know alot about Geforce cards, but I have a 512 Meg ATI X1300 and I run fine. You have the same RAM and a faster processer than I. I run the game at 1024X768X32 with all Textures at High and effects at Low. I used to have my effects at medium, but in largescale firefights in chokepoints of Camp Gibralter were getting me a slight frame drop... Artillery and EMP strikes at said locations were slowing my framerate to nearly a crawl. So I turned the effects down to low and have noticed some improvement. But at anyrate, I'd say your system is fine, and you'll have the freedom to turn some of the nicer parts of the game up.
  13. They still haven't perfected their process tho, I'm noticing while the points seem to update accuratly, the awards do not. No big deal... but it's strange the lag started right when the site went live. Thanks for the work Gator, your effort on this site is always noticed and appreciated.
  14. I could go either way. Game isn't even a month old and I'm already up to Master Sargeant Gold and I don't even play all that long or even everyday. I'm not a great knife specialist and I have the knife. So I guess the way I see it, if they do reset the stats, I don't see it as a big deal to me. I'm competent enough with my skills that I would regain the ranks... and probably do so faster because I know the game now. I can go without my Voss... I'm almost as good with the Scar or Krylov. However, it wouldn't bother me if they kept the stats. I don't compare myself to the world, I measure my skills against those I play against the most. And I like to think that every single one of you in the Armory would not stoop to such levels. (If you do, you should think about finding the door out of here anyway, we don't need your kind) I don't care if I'm the best in the world or not, I just care that I can hold my own against those I play with. I look at the badges as goals that improve my gameplay and make me a more rounded player... nothing more.
  15. While combat wise, I didn't have a steller night last night, I did earn a Good Conduct Ribbon and an Explosive Gallentry Badge for a total of 520 bonus points. I know the points took because my score is where it's supposed to be along with the new rank I achieved. However, niether of my awards are showing on EA's site or in my BFHQ. I suspect that their server might be lagging behind again, I'm just curious if anybody else is noticing the same issue. I'm also suspecting my time logged on the Recon kit isn't taking as well...
  16. At 50 unique dogtags you get a better knife model. Some also argue that the Collectors Knife does better damage or has longer range, but I haven't seen evidence to support that yet since I got mine. The dogtags also are electronic proof that you indeed did get the drop on somebody and kill them with the combat knife. You can see who's dogtags you have at anytime by going to the BFHQ, hitting leaderboards, then checking the dogtag's box in the upper right. It's pretty much a "Trophy Kill". Who has more dogtags from higher ranked players or whatnot I don't go after dogtags activly myself. If the opportunity presents itself in a turned back, I go for it. I'm up to nearly 70 knife kills with almost 60 unique tags. Give it enough time using that tactic and just about anybody can get the Dogtag Collector's Knife.
  17. I think I gave away about a dozen dogtags last night. Worst night I ever had for getting killed by the knife. LOL But still, quit a rush, isn't it TH?
  18. I agree with you about Tunis Harbor. I've noticed that walkers tend to hang back more on the map. There is also alot less cover for me to get up close. On that map I tend to hang back and try for legshots. Those are hard tho if they're almost back to the fog, the Pilum is almost guaranteed to miss at that range and you're better off with a Torso shot.... where the armor is stronger.
  19. Welcome. We tend to choose peaple on the their character and sense of teamplay, not their skills. Prospective members are voted on by the Admins and Senior Council. Most of us like to get to know a person a bit before we'll commit to a "Yes" vote, so I would suggest hangin' out with us a couple weeks and running with our squads before sending your app in. This will greatly speed up the process of getting your application approved I'm lookin' forward to blowing up a walker from benieth you sometime, see ya in game
  20. This debate over clan rules should be debated in the appropriate forum. This is not the place to be discussing this. To the OP... We greatly respect your interest in the clan, and I hope things can be worked out. Please do not take this as disprespect to you personally. But things need to be done the right way... and discussing what's purely a clan matter here is not the right way. This thread is closed
  21. Actually, with either the default rocket lancher or the Pilum, you can one shot the walker with a shot to the vent. Easily half my Walker kills are from getting under it and shooting my Pilum into the vent. I don't call myself the Armor Killer for nothing... I know the weak spots Pilum to the vent is my preferred kill method, as the walker doesn't get a chance to retreat and repair to do more damage. Only bad part is it isn't an instant kill, it takes it to disabled and burning. However, it's so close to dead it's collapsing and exploding in less time than it takes to reload my Pilum for another shot. However, having read what you said, I may try quick switching to my SMG to punch home the finishing blow faster, just as an experiment. As it is... I like having time to get out from under the walker as it goes up and getting ready to finish off any pilots who had the presence of mind to bail.
  22. I so cannot wait for this Source upgrade to come out. HL2 looks so good on my system as it is, but the settings still have higher to go. I really cant' wait to see this game with it's settings pushed higher
  23. Moments like this are the reason I play these games: War stories of crazy stunts that actually do something cool. I was in one of our (=A=) squads last night. 3 of us were on the Ruins trying to cap the flag. I heard a walker coming and high tailed it to a hiding spot in the rubble as I was using an assault kit. However, I positioned myself and started to lob smoke grenades to blind the walker and hopefully give my teammates some cover. JCMoncur had the Pilum, and managed to severely wound the walker. I noticed it was sparking as I tossed my second smoke grenade, a sheer sign it was within an inch of getting destroyed. However, JC was killed. I don't know what came over me, but I sprinted down the rubble thru the smoke and got under the walker. I then raised my Voss and unloaded into the vent. Before I got a half a clip into it, the walker was falling down on top of me! By god, it actually worked, I got a Voss kill on a walker! Man that was so cool!
  24. I don't aim for the head myself, I go for the torso. Takes a couple swipes but at least I don't miss.
  25. WAS very addicting. Then I got tired of them adding more and more and higher and higher end game content (a year from now everybody will be talking how the Tier3 gear is crap and it's all about the SuperS Tier 21 gear, just watch). 2 level 60 characters and one 48 was enough for me. Ogrimar... nice to see some fellow Horde among us.... but I'm done with that game for good.
