Good one my main reptile!

Ok guys I have been talking to a guy that works for Valve. I was VERY MAD about this. You guys are not the only one. It is being worked on from what I understand. I can actually get on and play now but my steamid is changed. Anyway try it now and let me know if you still cant play. I will give you some contact info.from what I have been reading in the valve support forums this is a big problem and may be why people are switching a lot servers back to won. I had a legit key and everything but I couldnt play....man I was mad!

I have had that when I try to start from HLSW and forgot to login to steam prior. The only thing I found to fix this was a restart. Not sure why it does it but that always fixes mine.

Well this happened to me when I was trying to copy my old files over. Here is the best way to do this.....Do a fresh install.....then just move over your map files, config file, and all your custom stuff.BTW you would get this message even if you were not using steam from time to time when you tried to restore your files. Get the full install file for 2.8 the do the above. That will be the easiest and is the most full proof way.

Rgr that....I am searching the net for this error with not much luck....I will post if I find something.

If you get kicked from the server and you can drop your console with the ~ key and copy the error message you get. This may help us find the problem. The copy paste ability is one of the great things...it makes this stuff easier. Post a thread if you get the error message...Make the error message your topic. ALSO...if you see the error message posted by someone DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER POST unless you have somethign REAL new about the error. We are getting a lot the same post about things that are answered in prior post. Please do not junk this area up with junk threads like "I hate Steam" or "remove steam". Basically let keep this clean up so we can look at people who actually need HELP...thus the name STEAM - HELP DESK. If you post junk dont be mad to see it deleted or moved.

The last time I got kicked tonight this is the error message I got. Several people got kicked at the same time.Host_Error: DispatchUserMsg: Illegal User Msg 128

I had to wait about 3 mintues for a spot tonight.

I think as all new versions it is going to take some time to get used to. Everyone just give it sometime.

Before my new HD come in I had 2 HDs in my computer ( 40GB & 30GB). I am moving the 40GB over the to the file server and putting the 30GB in my computer with the 120GB. I am not sure what I am going to do with all this space but I will think of something

Yeah today has been full of good news! It took me a little longer to get things running cause my wife made me driver her shopping...had to make up for not telling her about my HD coming . I am about to install HL and all my mod stuff. I should have it up and soon. I will be on after work in the morning...thankfully I only have to work about 4 hours!

Fedex just dropped of my 120GB (with 8MB cache) HD!!! I am going to be down a few hour getting my file server up and my game system...See you guys in about 2-3 hours!I am all gidy!
